  1. There's a limit on how many posts I can have per thread, so this is part 2! Click here for Part 1. Welcome to our Fantasy Yuzu Bracket, PH Edition There are others like it, but this is our own. I'm bad at making graphics so no pictures. I'm sure you all know every Yuzu program by heart (right?). I had to dig really deep to get 32 unique programs, so there may be some bb-era programs on here. (zuzu new programs sometime please ) Here's how the scoring works: 1 point for every correct round of 32 vote 2 points for every correct round of 16 vote 4 points for every correct quarterfinal vote 8 points for every correct semifinal vote 16 points for correctly voting for the winner! You have one week to vote!

  3. i'm not really sure how it works, but i don't get dizzy from a centered spin (although i don't spin nearly as fast as competitive skaters for sure), but i would get dizzy from an uncentered spin (so, maybe a tilt-a-whirl). maybe it has to also do with the centering of the spin? (also i get dizzier spinning clockwise because i'm just not used to that. i don't get dizzy from spinning counterclockwise, though.)
  4. We need to do this too (PH edition)!! I'll start a thread
  5. Me neither!! I remember watching it live (I mean on my laptop)!
  6. What a gorgeous shot!! The most perfect jump ever! Lol the low frame rate makes that counter look so sassy when i look at his face lolol
  7. Renamed this thread because it is no longer only about the SafeSport investigation in the U.S.
  8. lol actually today i was working on my LFI 3 turns, and my coach kept telling me to skate faster into it. LFIs are so forced for me (like I get around by jerking my whole body around violently instead getting deep enough on the edge that you basically *have* to turn naturally like you're supposed to if you want to do smooth 3 turns), and i can't go into them with any speed because then it's scary i never use my LFI 3 turn so i think that's why it's so comparatively underdeveloped even my back inside 3 turns are better
  9. Good to see him apologize unequivocally. If it was an inside "joke" we would not have known that, and there are minors who read their public instagram comments so it was an inappropriate place to make such a comment. I don't think the photo looks "sexy" or sexualized but that's just me. It just looks sweaty and gross lol. But it sucks to see that shows are still inviting Cipres despite ongoing investigations and complaints, and no one seems to be taking any type of care to not put him in questionable contact with young girls.
  10. I think there are a lot of opposing forces at play here that the ISU has to work around, and they do a very avoidant job of it all. Like many of the judges work for their federations and for the ISU only in name, and if a judge votes against the grain, they stop being invited and funded by their federations. Maybe if the ISU angers certain federations then funding gets pulled or events (which are hosted on the federations' dime) are at risk. Plus, federations try really hard to stuff judging panels with clueless judges; it's quite interesting to see the variance in scores given to new skaters. Like panic from a flock of sheep before they receive a signal from their "leader" lol aka before they receive the narrative about that skater and how they're supposed to be judged. Maybe the ISU is so weak in its power that they honestly have no control over these things other than to nominally change the rules once in a while, which federations will vote for because the changes are too superficial to prevent them from doing whatever they want.
  11. Haha well LFO is useful for more stuff actually so that's good -- like flip entries, salchow entries, toe loop entries if you want, and it's part of your CCW spin entry. RFI is also useful for more stuff like toe loop entries, loop entries if you do multiple 3 turns, and it's even part of your backspin entry so it's good that those are your best 3s haha I don't think i EVER use the LFI, maybe that's why it's still the hardest one
  12. haha that's interesting. i got mohawks on my right foot wayyyyyyyyyy before i got any 3 turns. mohawks on my left foot took a while longer tho i've been working on silver moves, and there are all 8 types of 3 turns on it. i'm still working on checking them lol
  13. The judging for the first few adult tests are pretty forgiving though. Their goal is to encourage you to get into skating because they know skating as an adult is really terrifying That being said the things that are on the pre-bronze test are really hard! The edges require a ton of control and the transitions between the crossover lobes can get scary because the crossovers force you to generate so much (sometimes unwanted) speed. But edges are like the basis for all of our future skating so I guess they want you to get that down before anything else. I'm glad they left the three turns to the silver test though because I hated 3 turns for most of my time skating (and still hate left forward inside 3's).
  14. My friend who used to live in Sendai said that her friend there once took group skating lessons with Yuzu when she was 5-6 and he was 4. She said Yuzu was the only boy in the class full of little girls, but the teacher was so obsessed with bb Yuzu that she basically neglected all the girls. And whatever bb Yuzu did was met with praise and whatever she did was wrong. She did not enjoy the class, so she quit skating I wonder if it was the same coach?
