  1. I'm very excited to see what kind of collaboration Yuzu will have with Kohei Uchimura-san. By the way, in the 3rd part of the interview with Kohei-san shared earlier, he mentioned he went skating for the first time the other day and was surprised that he was able to skate after trying for 5 mins That's the power of athletes! They have extraordinary body control. I wonder if he will skate at all at Notte Stellata?
  2. I'm also quite surprised at the SOI news myself, but I do think that Yuzu truly enjoys connecting with other skaters at ice shows and personally, this is most important to me for him and I will give him my full support. We've seen how much fun he had at ice shows previously vs comps. Also, I think participating at other ice shows can give him more experience and ideas on how to run his own future shows, though I'm sure he already has tons of them in his head. It also won't hurt for him to maintain a good working relationship with all these ice show peeps.
  3. I think there were some tweets or something some time back that suggested that CLAMP were Yuzu fans, wasn't there? (If my memory isn't failing me. CLAMP fans please confirm.) Yuzu must have had this in mind when choosing an artist to collaborate with. That said, they aren't the only ones who have shown appreciation towards Yuzu before (author of Tokyo Ghoul comes to mind), so he must have considered other factors as well, such as their art style or the way they tell their stories, which resonates with the story that he wishes to tell us.
  4. Hanyu Yuzuru annual ice show at Tokyo Dome
  5. Kose Malaysia also posted the same video This post has been tagged by Yuzu_legend as [NEWS].
  6. Mai, Queen of 4CC and the Winter Universiade!
  7. For those who don't know, Rika Hongo was also born in Sendai.
  8. Happy New Year, Yuzu and all Planet Hanyu satellites! May 2023 be a good year for Yuzu and for all of us with a healthy dose of happy and healthy Yuzu
  9. I agree with this for the reason that as the lowest placing of the top 5 seniors at Nats, she somehow ended up with the most assignments, which seems odd and, if I may call it, a bit unfair to the others.
  10. WC Men 1. Shoma 2. Sota 3. Kazuki Women 1. Kaori 2. Mai 3. Rinka 4CC Men 1. Koshiro 2. Shun 3. Kao Women 1. Mone 2. Hana 3. Rinka
  11. Ooh, apparently Rika got stuck in a hole on the Salchow... What's with holes and Salchows! This gives me hope for her to bounce back in the free then. Glad to see Kaori and Mai in 1-2!
  12. I intend to watch for the women, mostly.
  13. Wow, what a messy Women's FS. I think they all might have had some nerves, since SP 1st-4th or even 5th place were so close in points. They all probably knew it would come down to who skated cleanest, and then all made a lot of mistakes. Some thoughts: Mai I'm so happy for her! She has made a strong case for herself this season to make the Worlds team. Top qualifier to the GPF and GPF champion! She wasn't as consistent as her usual self here and at Finland, but overall, I still do think she keeps them under control well enough that she doesn't make too many mistakes. She is normally clean but when something is at stake like the title (GP Finland, GPF) or Olympics berth (last 2 Olympics), bigger mistakes tend to creep in. I think her strengths are her consistency, competitive nerves and her levels which are almost always level 4 no matter how she skates. This is a big advantage as it can hold her up if she makes mistakes and others do too. Her weakness now is the flip and some questionable rotations. It seems she has trouble with the rotation on 3T on the back end of the combinations, so I'm wondering if it's good if her team can change the 2A+3T combo to a 2A sequence since her 2A seems pretty solid? Her TES will go up too if combined with 3S or 3Lo. I hope she can get them under control and do well at JNats as she had the worst schedule in the past month. Isabeau Hmm, nothing much to comment on her as I didn't watch her before this. But she will definitely get the push from her fed, I think. Her jump layout puzzles me a bit. Loena Consistency was also her strength, but she's faltering a bit, like Mai, but more so. Her strength was also usually getting level 4s on spins and steps, but she didn't this time on the StSq. Her weakness in the free is only having six triples vs the rest of the women, so going clean is very important for her. Rotations were also an issue for her here. Rinka Needs to manage her consistency a bit for the jumps after the 3A. The reward for the 3A is completely outweighed by the mistakes in the rest of the program, even more so if she doesn't land the 3A. But I think she's had a stellar senior debut so far. Definitely caught the attention of many people this season and is someone to watch out for in the future. Kaori Ahh, what luck for her re the drug test dragging on and her being sleep deprived. Which is a shame, because she usually delivers when it matters, but so far she's been a bit on and off this season. Let's see how it goes, as she's usually a slow starter. I hope she overcomes it by JNats though, as her key strength lies in her jumps (usually no question about rotation), and delivering when it counts. Her weaknesses though. She has no room for mistakes, literally. Her flutz means that her tech is already lower and hard for her to use as a combo. It also seems to be difficult for her to improvise yolo combinations when she misses, since her final jump is the spiral 3Lo, which she also doesn't hit 100% of the time, and that's about the only jump she can hope to tack an extra combo on. I've also not seen her combo her 3S. In addition, she doesn't have 2Lo combinations and did not realize she would zayak here. At least when Mai missed a combo once, I've seen her tack a 3T, though UR, onto her 3F which is some breathing room. Her spins were also a bit problematic at this comp, as 1 spin each in the SP & FS were marked level 2 in real time, but later upgraded to level 3. Overall, Kaori has quite a few things on her plate to work on before the next comp. Yelim When she missed the 2A in the SP I felt for her, because everyone has to be clean at this comp. Then she went down on the opening jump of the FS, and you could see the ridiculously low GOEs on her 2A and 3Lo. I think she's a beautiful skater though, and capitalizes on the 3F+2A sequence to up her BV. She has a lot of potential and has scored 140+. Needs to work a bit on the consistency.
  14. Happy Birthday, Yuzu! May this year be as fruitful, meaningful and happy for you as the last, and may you have good health and joy in abundance. We are always supporting you.
  15. I literally said weeks ago that my wish was for him to perform at Tokyo Dome one day, and that for now my wish was only Saitama Super Arena. And now he's telling me it's happening in 2 months?! Like, Yuzu, we haven't managed to catch our breaths yet, even singers don't do concerts this often! Also, please give more advance notice next time, 2 months isn't enough for me But, I'm so happy for him!
  16. Yeah, I gotta agree with you on that one. She'd be travelling back and forth from Japan to Europe three times and competing four times in a span of about 6-7 weeks from GP MK John Wilson Trophy till JNats. Very brutal schedule.
  17. Mai I thought she'd lost it but... Congrats on being the top qualifier to the GPF!!! Edit: And Rika wins in TES!!!
  18. Rinka and Rion both have 22 points now, But Rinka wins the tiebreaker with her 1st place at Skate Canada. If Gubanova places 3rd next weekend, she will also have 22 points, but again, Rinka will win the tiebreaker with her 1st place finish.
  19. Yes, she will qualify ahead of Rion and, assuming Gubanova is 3rd next weekend, Rinka will be ahead of her as well. Her win at Skate Canada did her good.
  20. I just noticed Mai wasn't given the 2nd half bonus on the 3Lz+3T... is there some mistake? Is it still possible for her score to be adjusted?
  21. Ahhhh Yuzu... What's with making all of us cry huh
  22. Ah, I see. Maybe that's the case now, but I'm only basing this on my experience of following a singer about 10 years ago and I know this wasn't the case then from fan reports. Haven't been following concerts much since.
  23. I know some (or most, idk) Japanese singers have songs colour coded to the light sticks during concerts and the fans know which song is which colour somehow. By giving these programs these colours, in the future fans might start lighting up these colours for these programs.
  24. What a controlled knee slide hahaha He also said he's tired to do spin I think, that's why it stopped there
