I only have one thing to say about Yuzu saying that he doesn't like himself much. The fact that he feels this way, and still manages to bring himself to face all those challenges head on for all the world to see (while knowing all his naysayers are watching), carry himself well as an extremely famous person, and have great confidence in his own abilities (which, as a fact, is great), really speaks volumes about his mental fortitude. A lot of people would have crumbled under all that. But I would still wish that Yuzu wouldn't feel that way and come to love himself.

Sharing this news as I thought it was interesting, and it's my first time hearing of it. Apologies if shared before. https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/sports/figure-skating/4332071/ Rika shares that her one-handed cartwheel collaboration with Yuzu was suggested by him, and Yuzu practised and mastered it in half a day. Rika was very surprised because it requires a very strong core and she had to practice a lot in the off-season to master it. Welp, in my imagination, kitty Yuzu doesn't need practice to be able to cartwheel, so this is a surprise to me.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong because I didn't zoom in to check, but at first glance, while the English newspapers use words like "end his competitive career" or "leave", the Japanese newspapers seem to understand his intention and use the word "pro athlete" or "pro stage" and refrain from using the word retirement. The nuance is important.

So Yuzu is continuing to compete, just refusing to compete under ISU's banner anymore. No wonder they haven't posted a word on his going professional.

Thank you for allowing me to follow you for half your senior career, Yuzu! I really feel privileged to have known him before Pyeongchang. I think I'm mostly done with ISU too, I will only check in on a few skaters I still care about once in a while.
