  1. Okay, well I do have tiny feet. >_> So what boots and what blades did you get?
  2. High heels size/dress shoe size. It should be your feet length +0.5-0.7 cm for wiggle space. So say, tennis shoes I'm a US size 5, but I go down 0.5 size to maybe 1 size for my skating boots.
  3. I'm already losing focus at work, and it's not even Nov. 1 yet. HALP!
  4. That blog has a lot of technical posts about jump mechanisms too. It's actually fair assessment of many skaters, so I'd read up that blog if you want to know FS more and understand why some skaters get critiqued.
  5. Wow, I don't think anyone got ladies podium and placements right. o_O (I'm actually surprised I got men'and pairs right)
  6. Yuzu has a bigger swing up into the jump- he does this for his axel and sal: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/179396404209/goat-3a-details#tumblr_notes But he does have one of the biggest quad sals in the men's.
  7. Well I think the Kuyashii also requires certain caloric intakes, that might be why he's eating. (No, I think he's just being the more sociable senpai now that he's one of the "older" TCC members- not in age but in time spent at TCC. But then again, we don't know if he wasn't that sociable before, just that before we did not get news of these things.)
  8. I'm really suspicious of all these Yuzu sightings recently. It's like he's trying to prepare us for some incoming hairloss...you know like apologizing in advance.
  9. Try using a mohawk entry. It'll help with the left ankle because it automatically comes with a more flat/shallow LBI curve.
  10. Right, so you can be persuaded by a guy's crossovers? o_O Your bf needs to know that. He needs to know crossovers to fend off the crossovers from other guys. Hmm...good luck, hope he says yes and have fun!
  11. OMG, lucky! Don't worry, I think passion for skating makes up for a lack of skill at those events. =) Also, most advanced skaters are more understanding. I am curious which side has to have more turnout. Like outside SE, I find that the leading forward outside edge has to have greater turnout for me to hold the edge well. Hm, like if I do a clockwise outside SE, my right foot has greater turnout, so to a degree my legs/hips are slightly more than 180. Not sure how it works yet for IB, since even straight line ones are evading me.
  12. Hmm... my hips weren't the issue, my ankles just want to turn into an inside edge. Then again, maaaybe it is not enough hip turnout (bummer, because the outside SE is doable on that side). I always want to post a vid of skating...but then realize I freeze up and turn chicken as soon as a cellphone is pointed at me. The only videos I have seen anywhere involve colleagues stumbling across me practicing and taking sneak videos.
  13. I thought the technology that they used for the stro-mo replay of jumps at the olympics was pretty good. You know where they show the jump going up, stills of the air air rotation, and stills when the skater lands before it goes to normal speed for the landing flow. IMO, for tech panels that should be fine to help pinpoint URs and possibly edges, when combined with existing cameras. And time wise- well did those stro-mo stills replay take up a lot of time when viewing during olys? I recall them being rather quick. I think this also may require something to be done about a separate GOE panel of judges-which now, when checking protocols, is more reasonable than ever before.
  14. Wait hold it hold it...is that a suit, that kind of actually fits?! o_O What is going on? After Pyeongchang, he's not ninja-ing as hard (our crytid ID skills weren't always being tested). And he's got...suits that kind of fit? What is this? On a more serious note, I like seeing him with Matsuoka-them both being serious in interviews, and goofing off together during the CM is so heart-warming (seems he trusts Matsuoka enough that he can relax and goof off and act his actual age)。
  15. I still can't lean fully back, though I can force the edge to turn outside....how to tuck butt in is a good question.
  16. Has anyone figured out how to get your body to do straight line or outside edge Ina bauers? I think even if you start out parallel, it strangely always wants to turn into an inside edge.
  17. Hmm, about that private thing with Kurt, I do wonder if it's possible Yuzu wants to do one of Kurt's old programs and was asking for permission? Maybe "Singing in the Rain" as an ex?
  18. I think to a degree, Yuzu's weakness is perhaps tunnel vision. Yes, that tunnel vision is "dedication" to a goal, and it's what has helped drive him to where he is today. But sometimes, it is also a weakness, because he won't compromise even if logically, it is more practical to do so (and even when he might not lose as much as he thought).
  19. Oh yeah. I've never twisted, sprain or tore anything before. But tore my left ankle ligaments slipping on a toe loop take off. It's better now...but I guess my ankle can take the pain to ensure that Yuzu's ankle is well. XD
  20. *snorts and dies laughing* Right, so all we get now is the CM.
  21. 1) Lemons or sculling? Think that's what those 2 foot figure 8 strokes are. 2) Hydroblading- I do mine on my left leg. My right leg and back inside edge is too weak to hold it. Rinkmate of mine does his on the right leg.
  22. I think we can list the layouts you've thought of and do a process of elimination based on past experience. For Yuzu, well he's a rhythm jumper, so his layout isn't as wild as Nate's. Think Shoma's is kind of set, and Boyang we should know after GP Finland as Boyang doesn't change it as much. The 2 Russian men (Aliev and Kolyada) don't change as much, and I think Zhou's is also set.
  23. Hmm. 4Loop 4T 3Loop 4S3T//4T1Lo3S 3A2T 3A 4A 4T 3Loop 4S3T// 4T1Lo3S 3A2T 3A (natural one, you still open with an edge jump, but I'm thinking he should give himself room to breathe after 4A) or 4A 4T 3Loop 4S3T//3A1Lo3S 3F2T 3A (though I'm not a huge fan of this since the tech panel is going odd over flip edges) My issue with the 4A I think, is how to follow it up with stamina. The amount of energy he needs for it, I'm a bit worried a follow-up quad would be popped. So would it make more sense for him to go 4A 3Loop 4T 4S3T in the layout instead? But that would mess up his jump paths more.
  24. Is this just for the SP? Because I think the LP layout is kind of set.
  25. Should we start doing layout calculations? Or is everyone so annoyed by the judging that we don't feel like it? XD
