Please get knee pads. They're pretty important especially when you start jumping. Depending on how you land, you might look into hip protection pads too when you start jumping?

GPF tickets are calling you?

Me too...me too. I love Otonol, and Origin, but currently Otonol just a bit more.

To clarify, last year at ACI there was also a giant section reserved for VIPs-not sure if for school children, local clubs or skaters and families themselves. But it also remained very very empty for majority of the time. It was also judges side.

Um, hate to say it, but for the more extreme fans, would anything short of Yuzu saying he's scared of the fans, be effective at telling said fans to keep away from his privacy sphere? And after some of the stuff that's been shared, and stuff we'd have seen at competitions he attends, I'd be shocked if he had no sense of fear towards the fans. You can always say that 99.999% of your fans will not stalk you, but considering the size of the fandom, there may always be that 1 person that goes and does something freaky. >_> It's logic.

For me, if I had to, had to, I'd say East of Eden would work for her. But overall, lyrical style suits her. I kind of want to see what would happen if she went with Tom Dickson, but well, I'm not her team so I can just pray and wish. >_>

1) I went to ACI last year, heard of it but thought it was a rumor and didn't actually happen. So it did happen? Damn.... 2) Hmm...wish I went. We would have a lovely wonderful discussion over tea. I have choice words for fans like that, and even last year, the chinese fans I ran across were not like that. Not sure what happened this year, because usually the chinese fandom itself is pretty self-monitoring. =/ That said, there are fans here who may view liking other skaters as sufficient enough to disqualify you as a Yuzu-fan. Sure, why not, put my sense of balance up to the test. Hmm. =)

I wonder...the younger chinese fans are terrified of the older japanese fans. Last year at ACI, ran into a couple who said they'd never fight with an older japanese lady, because there is no way to win. A lot of them opted to stay overnight outside as a measure of potentially winning some seats against the older japanese fans. XD But what you mentioned above- that it becomes a herd mentality, is really something I notice too. You start doing stuff even though you know it's irrational and non-sensecial because of the fear of what would happen if you don't. IE-if you don't shove, you might not get off the subway fast enough since there's a small time window to both get on and off the metro. I notice this myself-when I'm overseas, I never shove to get off a metro or bus. But dump me back into China, and I start shoving like everyone else. =/ So this gets applied to arena doors, concerts, and uh, Yuzu sadly. If someone yelled "People, respect his privacy, we look like crazies." People will actually back off, but in the heat of the moment, the fear of missing out tends to override logic.

Obsession knows no age. Black hair-check. Short hair-check. Fairly thick hair-double check. Mushroomy? Hmm, I'm sure I can go to a stylist and get it fixed. But how do you propose platforms in sneakers? The training outfit should be easy to get online, since he wears black, black and more black. But the I'm not sure how to add 15 cm to sneakers. =(
-
@KatjaThera @rockstaryuzu : if I could help out in any way, I wish that I were about 15-16 cm taller. I've been mistaken to be male frequently enough, due to general broad shoulders and super flatness, that I'd love to sacrifice and help out by luring the more insane ones away. Maybe I'll regret it after they start coming after me, but hey, good motivation to train up for marathon running right?

I don't think he has and gods I hope he never gets the notion to do so-wasn't there times when it seems he's aware of how his fandom is viewed? It's good to see he's more assertive. Our fandom has to take care of its own self image, and so far it's a mixed bag. =/
-
But that's the problem- the reason why you are chasing after say, an Idol/justin bieber isn't because you considered his/her feelings, it's from a purely selfish perspective. It's about you, the fan, personally liking this person so much, mixed with fear that you may never see said idol/star again. And for said star/idol/Yuzu (especially Yuzu), not passively accepting the actions would seem rude to the fandom at large (especially since he's aware there are polite fans out there). I think it's fine if fans just waited in public areas with support banners, so long as they don't go crazy. But stalking into off-access areas (like skaters training or warm up area), chasing after his car, stalking to hotels etc, that's a bit insane and crosses the line. =/
-
China...*point to flag* but you know what, the most fanatical ones I know of personally, if they got confronted with fans at the level of running after cars to just touch the car's rear-end, even they would calm down and go "do I really behave like that? That's disgusting, that's bad, I respect his privacy." I hate to say this but nothing quite calms the "go with the crowd" fanatical fans than public airing of their actions. So hopefully it'll calm down now for Helsinki and Russia and GPF. And if they don't calm down, and are in there for the looks only...hate to say this but at some point, sooner than later, they drop out of the fandom too. Edit: also, if Yuzu lurks here. Lurker Zu, the mentioning of wishing people to respect other skaters and your privacy is fine. But, in my opinion, there's no need for you to defend your fandom and your fans' actions, kind and heart warming as it is. We can do it ourselves, and you defending fans, might be construed by the more fanatical sections as tacit allowance to go crazy at your expense. And it doesn't really change public perception of that section of the fandom. Public perception towards Hanyu fans, sadly, have to be changed by actions of said fandom.
-
Oh it's not you. It's um, girls at my rink locally. It's kind of funny, because the more fanatical fans tend to get into catfights with each other, which I have to break up. Aish....

I think so long as we here, and in other fan forums are aware and try to monitor ourselves, it's a good start. Sure, it won't cover every single fan, but there's a couple thousand of us so it's a start. I think there were photos taken of him at airports before, and the thing is, some of those weren't actually taken by Yuzu fans. Just people who ID'ed him and went "oh wow this is cool." In which case, I can't really be-grudge them, as they are in the clueless camp. XD
-
Well here's the thing, there are plenty of people who follow him for his looks (not necessarily even his skating), and while they are in the small minority (like <1%), due to the size of the fandom, in absolute numbers they are still high. And sadly, they probably don't pay attention to anything on twitter/forums/weibo/instagram etc. So I do wonder if they actually read Yuzu's interviews. IMO, there's a bit of a projection thing going on, a bit of projecting him as an "ideal boyfriend" image, and it just...rolls on from there. But once they get in the fandom longer, they also calm down- it's pretty funny to me that one of the fans I consider a bit more "fanatic" calmed down so much more when she met another fan whom she considered "too fanatical." XD What I do think is that majority of fans, if they are normal humans, start by liking him, researching more about him as a person, then move to research figure skating as a whole to understand the sport better. So I would say, give it time and then maybe the cult like wave will calm down. At the very least, it will be contained down to <1%. =)
-
I don't like the idea of Yuzu fans being more of a cult than an actual FS fan group, but realistically, there's not a whole lot you can do. There are quite a bit of Yuzu fans who are involved only for him, and nothing else. And while we bemoan about it, let's face up to the fact majority of us who do follow FS overall, even we won't follow FS with as much dedication if he stops competing. Personally I might still watch, but going to live competitions might take lower priority than say, normal life obligations. =( However, there are people who have somewhat converted to being FS fans and also follow other skaters, due to being introduced to FS via Yuzu.

Once you guys get back crossovers...maybe you can try hydroblading. =D

Rather than when he will land Nessie, I think next time we should put up a poll about when he regains the Kuyashii powers.

What content were you expecting?

My fave might still be Swanyu and Chopin-simple lines, and elegant. But I like Origin too, just not sure it'll overtake Swanyu yet. Something has to be said for a guy who has the guts to go for a deep V neck and back. And pull it off. Sorry.

@Toni watch Yuzu steal Ghislain to be jump coach when he decides to personally take up coaching. >_> Also, the section where Ghislain is speaking to the VIP-maybe summarize or keep it under spoilers or something? other than it being confidential and personal, there are sadly Yuzuru Antis who also like to browse our forums and take our stuff out of context. I'm speaking as someone who translated an interview with Zhao Hongbo (Chinese Fed head coach) which got lifted and then warped to justify a Yuzu-anti's stance. =(

Oh I don't think Brian was fooled, no coach in TCC who's got brains and some degree of EQ, believed it. Think they were all just humoring him, entertaining his "new chill mindset" and thinking, "Wonder when that flip will switch."

I feel inspired by Kevin Aymoz's ina bauer/spread eagle/back lunge on a circle thingy, that I want to try it as soon as I get back on ice. Will probably kill myself so if you don't hear from me for a while, you know what happened.

His team, knowing him, already had the plan B ready, waiting for him to snap to Kuyashii mode.
