  1. Me too. But I have no access to pizza. Why I do this to myself?
  2. Just, ugh, all of these. Just go and look at them with your eyes. There is also meme material in here but cbf double posting. https://sportymags.wordpress.com/2016/12/21/yuzuru-hanyu-2016-gpf-photos-part-1/
  3. (My feelings are conflicted about it but I kind of think it was a horrible thing to make the audience in the stadium sit through. )
  4. I have a similar mix of being almost (tragi)comically prone to injury and having a high pain threshold which is actually a really friggin' bad design for a human being (thanks, cosmic creator) because it increases the danger of doing serious damage. I'm not so concerned about pro athletes because they have a lot of medical and psychological support to deal with those sort of things but the younger ones who have the illusion of invinsibility and don't yet know their limits. Just imagine the quality of his performances had he been more open about his injuries or had the proper guidance to prevent them. We got H&L from that approach.
  5. He's undoubtedly an inspiration and a fantastic success story but that kind of recklessness doesn't work out so well for everyone. There are a lot of names we will never hear, not for lack of talent or determination but because of illness and injury. We're just never told those stories. I think after Boston he's come to realise how lucky he is he hasn't done any permanent damage and I hope his health remains a top priority. Even though I also get carried away with the tales of his epic battles against the odds, I sincerely hope it doesn't set an example for younger athletes (or even regular people struggling with illness and injury) because a lot of damage can be done when you lack balance and don't listen to your body. I'm glad Tracy and Brian stepped in and prevented him from over-training this past season. That's the lesson I hope people take away from this.
  6. Frick, I love this photo so much. And if it's for extra crystals, that's alright, I guess.
  7. The details on this costume are just superb. Love this angle of the hydroblade. I'm not too down with the illusion mesh on the back, either. Is it really necessary to have on both front and back? I mean, would it affect the structure
  8. As a regularly sick and injured person who pushed themselves too far and kaboomed spectacularly, that attitude really scares me. I really hope he really truly for really and truly understands how important it is not to push himself. Longevity, please!
  9. Oh! Well I know nothing about that! Good lord, boy! Take better care of yourself!
  10. Thanks for sharing! I didn't know he refused painkillers for Nice. I would think the level of pain at Boston would have been much worse, though, and perhaps no pain killers would have meant withdrawing vs painkillers with less expression. So glad he's bringing SEIMEI back for revenge! (And I can't wait for the movie based on his life.)
  11. Oh no. I can't. I had to turn off half way to save myself. My poor heart. (Also walk walk walk sounded like quack quack quack. Duck Lake?)
  12. I liked the front but not the weird sparkly spine on the back. It was a bit creepy. And I wouldn't mind the grey so much if it wasn't velvety but it is so I don't like it. It doesn't feel crisp enough for winter.
  13. Well, of course it is! What else would it be?
  14. That choreo sequence gives me shivers everytime, without fail. Next week can't come fast enough!
  15. I had a similar reaction. I don't think he suits the balletic stuff at all. He seems to have a better emotional connection to contemporary so I'm happy that's the direction he's going this year. Not a prediction but an image that won't leave my brain is one of a beaming and somewhat bewildered Boyang in the middle of the podium with 2nd and 3rd place the tragic victims of a splatfest.
  16. So my attendance at NHK or GPF is up in the air while I try to convince myself that flying to another country JUST for SP is worth it () but I have a question about lines at venues. I've seen footage in various Japanese documentaries of unbelievably massive lines to get in to figure skating events. I'm mainly wanting to see the Men's so don't feel like I need to get in as soon as the doors open but I wonder if there are likely to be long lines throughout the day. I'm not sure if anyone can answer that for me. And I wonder why the lines are so long. Is it to buy merchandise and magazines before they sell out? I can't stand for long and get quite sick if I have to so either I just sit and wait until I see a shorter line or get a walking stick that turns into a chair and hurt my bum and my pride. Or squat. I don't know. I'm travelling alone so won't have anyone to hold my place in line, either. I generally just avoid anything I have to line up for but Hanyu happened to me and I have to go and seeeee. Maybe I should e-mail the venue and explain my situation? My impression of Japan is not one of a country that's particularly accommodating to sick and disabled people, though.
  17. Of course you know this means war.
  18. Hey, I can't control the overzealous Twitter hoards.
  19. Eagerly awaiting the storm this tweet will bring!
