    Then the interview with Kenji where he said he knew he would fall but he would just throw himself and get the rotation. Amazing. Maybe a bit reckless but amazing.

    I'm terrible. I love it. It's so inspirational, even though it makes me sick to my stomach. I think I would have felt differently had I watched it live, though. The audience must have been terrified that he might die (it's happened before - I can't watch cycling live anymore.) Then to see him throw himself around and collapse off the ice afterwards, not knowing whether or not he would recover. I'm glad I didn't become a fan until the next season because that would have completely traumatised me.

    I agree. This is one of the major reasons I never got hooked before. All I heard from our commentators was salchow salchow salchow, and with an American pronunciation rendering it super impossible to even know how to spell it (like how they pronounce solder "sawder.") I had to remember it as the "lady pig-cow jump." Also a lot of "lol@gay Johnny Weir and his crazy costumes." Never did I hear anyone explain the requirements of the programs, the difference between various jumps or spin positions, or anything technical at all. It was assumed that if you were watching you already knew everything which is an utterly ridiculous assumption to make in a country with no ice! There's a fantastic guy on YouTube whose name escapes me right now who does incredibly detailed commentary for full competitions. When I watch his videos with my family - who are still at the "pretty sparkles!" stage of appreciation - whenever they ask me what's going on this guy explains it before I can answer. The downside is he talks a lot so if you just want to enjoy the program it's a bit difficult - not something you could really broadcast. A lot of professional commentators seem to have pretty cushy jobs, though, and have a very minimalist approach to commentary.

    I don't think anyone knew at the time. I watched again just now after reading her comments and I see what she means. His face was not expressive at all, which is understandable once you know why, but I think that's what she picked up on. She did say he usually skates with passion and emotion so I don't see why people are taking it so harshly. Her words about 2017, unless I'm missing something, were flattering, too. Has she said things in the past to make people take her comments as assissination attempts? ETA I see her love of Fernandez, though.

    Whyyyyyyyy? What is that lady? WHY is that lady? HOW IS THAT LADY? (Not enough pissed Yuzu emoticons to express my feelings.) I will be happy if I never hear the words Sex and Bomb in that order again (bomb sex is okay). Legit for realsies nightmares for me. The baby version is even nightmarisherier.

    Even my mother came out and said he should just wear UA for his costume, unprompted. Also, how ridiculous on a scale of one to ten would a UA-ish costume with sheer SEIMEI-ish cut top look? My brain can't even conjure an image of it.

    YES YES YES! And even Darth Vader breathing in the music! He's really letting us down with lack of lightsaber choreography, though. Get on it, Boyang! There's still time for him change his SP back to Spiderman. What a pair they'd make. Please please please. I hope he's okay, though. I've never seen so many falls from someone who didn't crash during 6min warm-up.
