  1. Finally, a youngster who doesn't want to kill himself before 2022!
  2. Grant's FS is I'm looking forward to the full video. I don't even mind it being POTO. It looks great!
  3. That was my favorite part too, and the moment when he goes on his knees on the beginning of the slow part; really cool. But the music cut from Kissing You on to the end is so reminiscent of Yuzu's RJ cut; the structure and how elements are timed (step sequence, spins) are so similar it's hard to distance myself. Han Yan's and Marin's programs last season were different despite the similar versions of music being used, so I didn't really draw comparisons, but Vincent's FS's structure just seems so similar, including the jump right at the end, before the final spin, that I can't help it. Possibly it's just my Fanyu speaking. I think I'll be enjoying his SP a lot more than his FS this season. He does have a nice 4S, though. And the rippon 3Lz! Atta boy. Edit: I re-watched a full video of it and the music cuts can be rather abrupt but I think the biggest similarity is when Escape comes in at the second half.
  4. Second part of Vincent's FS
  5. It's possible he'll start with a lower number at the beginning of the season and move up to 6? It'll still be a big jump from the 3 he did last season... We'll see what he does today.
  6. It is listed in posts of overused FS warhorses, like this one, which is why I added it to the Bingo.
  7. The thing with Vincent, though, is that he's only landed 3 quads at a major competition once and he's moving directly to 6? At least Nathan landed 4 at US nationals first before working on 5 and his layout during the season wavered between 4-5 until his Worlds attempt of 6. It was more gradual. I sincerely cannot see how Vincent can go from 3 to 6 quads and still maintain stamina. And not break himself. Please take care of yourself, you're only 16.
  8. Bringing this here because I feel like Zuzu should consider skating to one of the non stamped warhorses so he can help our Bingo game. Firebird again, everyone?
  9. I really liked Courtney's 3F3Lo!
  10. I did like what I saw of Vincent's SP, though. Needs refining and more happening with his feet, but I like his SP music quite a lot, which always helps me appreciate a program. What I hear about his FS, though, reminds me quite a lot of Yuzu's RJ1 structure, so we shall see how Vincent's version will be tomorrow.
  11. Bringing this in from the USA thread. Regarding the steps into a solo jump and given that the new rules don't really define creative/original moves before the jump but require -3 GOE for elements that don't obey the stipulated criteria, will we be seeing more or less negative GOE on quads with no preceding steps/skating movements, I wonder.
  12. Given that USA Nationals tends to be in January, US skaters will basically be training to peak there and keep that peak into February, I guess? I think I remember Nathan saying something like that in an interview. We might get some good US nationals next year if that's the case!
  13. Yeah on the iffy landings (and no steps to the 4F). And this was a national skating competition with national judges, so internationally he will probably not get so generously scored. But who knows, I'm not ruling out anything at this point, especially if he puts in 5-6 quads in his FS (he is apparently doing two 4Lz). He can be the new Nathan/Boyang at the beginning of the season and who knows what'll happen. But yeah, he's very likely going with Nathan to the Olympics. Not that I think he can go from 3 to 5-6 quads with any consistency but... stranger things have happened.
  14. And then they complain about viewership numbers and interest in the sport... why even Sailor Moon? The only remotely interesting skating piece for a more teenaged crowd?
  15. Wait, who filled the copyright claim? ISU? Are you sure it was ISU? On Zhenya's Sailor Moon from WTT video!? Why would they do this?
  16. What should I replace for Four Seasons, though, I wonder.
  17. Vincent Zhou's SP from Skate Detroit today. 4Lz3T 4F // 3A - 97.68 I think Vincent is going to trailblaze in Nathan's path. I wonder if his consistency and PCS will raise as the season goes along and he actually challenges the Top 6. I think with his arsenal, he may well do so. He was talking about 5-6 quads in his FS too.
  18. You're welcome! But I welcome all suggestions for this bingo so if anyone thinks something fits better, let me know, because I honestly don't know what warhorses are more used in FS. Unfortunately the bingo card only has a limited set of spots so I can't really add them all.
  19. I love it! Wild bedhair!
  20. New Shoma photo from SPUR magazine's photo shoot.
  21. I'm not sure if Four Seasons is used that often to be counted but Masquerade and Danse Macabre might fit if only because they will help make more bingos, tbh. Maybe replace Puccini and/or Bolero? I'll change it after lunch on the graphic.
  22. D'awwww, bb!Yuzu.
  23. This doesn't necessarily mean Javi's not training. He just isn't training in Toronto.
