  1. I love google translate of this part of the article: Takahito Mura - the owner of the most powerful in the world jumps Kevin Reynolds - the owner of a very large number of jumps and Vincent Zhou - the owner of a very large number of ambitions Accurate.
  2. He's never had the highest 3A. That's why he needs 17cm more for the 4A. Edit: According to the translation google gave me, Yuzu's average 3A height was measured out of 5 attempts that ranged from 57cm to 63cm. In comparison, Mura's average came from attempts that ranged from 63.04 to 70.59!
  3. Remember those jump height and rotational speed statistics posted a while ago from a Russian blogger? Well, they've done the men now: https://www.sports.ru/tribuna/blogs/ternovblogfk/1442944.html?utm_source=tw&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=www.sports.ru Kovtun apparently has the highest 4T. And Kolyada the highest 4Lz as suspected. Yuzu has the second highest 4S! Kolyada seems to have on average some of the highest jumps. And it's not just toe pick jumps. He has the highest 3S too! At least in the universe of the competitions the statistics are based on. Yuzu appears to be above average in height and rotational speed, even if he is not the fastest rotator or the one with the highest jumps. I guess he strikes a perfect balance.
  4. Where he'll face Patrick. Outside of Canada. Bwahahaha. Nevermind me, I slept very little tonight.
  5. This is hilarious. But as seen, Dick Button is very consistent in having a very particular idea of what constitutes artistry to the point he was complaining about the lack of it even back then. So I'll just and .
  6. What interview? I think he just meant it was successful for the first time in competition (though it was also his first competition, lol), which to him is different than being successful in practice.
  7. I think you're confusing with him having said ACI was the first time he did 4T3T with the new entry and rippon successfully in competition. I don't remember anything about success rate of combo being low.
  8. As long as it's not a missed combo. Again.
  9. I know some people really also love the NHK(?) version but Boston had the best camerawork and lighting for that particular choreographic sequence where ice just flies around him and it's such a powerful moment to watch on the video.
  10. Just tell them he was injured and didn't do so well in the FS and ended up getting only silver but here's his gorgeous exhibition where he is skating for the victims of the tsunami. There's a lot of baggage with Boston as a Yuzuru fan but Requiem shouldn't be part of it. It's too beautiful to be afraid to show it.
  11. I guess he's going to have JPN media 24/7 everywhere this weekend. I'm glad he was smiling and chatting. He seemed very serious before ACI, which considering he'd spent a week off ice was reason enough for gloominess. I'm hoping this means he's had some good practices before coming and is going to not completely bomb his FS again (he'll bomb his SP instead) (just kidding!) (knock on wood)
  12. May I suggest you write a description of what you saw instead of putting the video up? A part of me is slightly uncomfortable since this was taken at a more private moment outside of public scrutiny (unlike the airport arrival or rink arrival/practices) so it always kind of comes across more illicit?
  13. Why? If you're recommending that video to someone, why should they care whether he placed 1st or 2nd in a competition in order to enjoy that performance of Requiem?
  14. Thank you @gladi!! I hope you have time to enjoy the competition on Friday and Saturday in the midst of all the media things happening then!
  15. Off-topic to the Moscow arrival but anyone curious what Yuzu's favorite gum flavor is? yuzusorbet has translated the answer from a recent Lotte interview related to the new clear files. Hint: he likes berries.
  16. He's side-eyeing them so hard. Looking at all that baggage.... he usually flies ANA, yes? I wonder if they go the extra mile of making sure his baggage actually arrives with him instead of being lost in some layover country. Has he had any history of missing baggage since the ANA sponsorship?
  17. I just hope he rotates it. Sorry I'm traumatized.
  18. I'm surprised. Doesn't anyone want to know what (recycled) EX Yuzu will be skating at the gala!?
  19. I've the feeling the choices I made for the GPF for the ladies are completely devoid of any actual mathematical probability related to their GP assignments.
  20. According to this, Yuzu will arrive (has arrived?) today in Moscow and apparently there's already fans waiting for him at the hotel? https://mrsport.ria.ru/figure_skating/20171017/1127301900.html (in Russian)
  21. At this point I wouldn't put it past him. I mean, he should get a prize in responsible recycling by now and this would just be the cherry on top of the recycled cake!
  22. I don't know, Javi and Patrick may embody the old school skating more but Javi is more of a character skater and Patrick is more abstract? They are different skaters still with different individual styles. Edit to add: And Button seems to favor Javi's style more. He's saying what you think he's saying. Now I understand a twitter rant I came across before reading this.
  23. I think you're reading this a bit too positively. My take on this was that he doesn't like men's skating today, including Yuzu's. Javi is an exception and for Button basically the only top guy who can marry artistry and the technical. He's the only one to whom Button pays specific compliments, while he circumvents talking about Yuzu's artistry on his H&L program by going with 'it's good for the rules as they exist today'.
  24. He's very cranky about men's skating today. The only one he seems to like is Javi, maybe because he embodies that old school skating more than others.
