Not sure sorry - though of course we know Yuzuru has never said this at least publicly....

I also read something very recently saying the China Olympic Committee had reassured the IOC that everything was on track for the Beijing Olympics to take place in Feb 22.....it doesn't make much sense at all....
-
Phil Hersch has tweeted about this, and intimated concern about the Beijing Olympics. If China are saying they cannot manage a small GP event safely in early November due to international flights/Covid restrictions/inability to manage bubble systems, do we think they will be able to manage the (much much bigger with many more countries involved) Winter Olympic Games just 12 weeks later?

He's been saving the sport for years already, and our lives too! (well, mine at least!) But yes, the future of FS is there for Yuzuru to save - esp concerning judging, but I don't see many others standing up for it the way he does, or representing it as passionately and thoughtfully, or speaking out so encouragingly about all skaters and never dissing them, even though some don't pay him the same respect...no I'm not bitter, what ever gave you that idea?? (though of course Yuzuru is also admired and idolised by so many skaters and coaches and choreographers and commentators who enthusiastically tell the world so!) Oh Javi spoke up I remember (his comment to judges at Euros 2019)....anyone else around currently who will help Yuzuru save FS? Maybe Nobu could - he made a start with calling out bullying/harassment in the sport! As did Yulia, Evgenia to some extent and Alina Kostornaia around the issue of abuse by coaches. Ashley Wagner too, about her experience of abuse, and safeguarding children in the sport - gosh so much to sort out, even Yuzuru can't do that alone I don't think! More positively, I have to say I was happy about the name of the Ladies event being changed to Women's Singles as words DO matter imo, and it was such an outdated term for the 21st century, but it is just a tiny weeny tip of the very big iceberg. Am I rambling on a bit?? I'll stop now!

A Silver and a Bronze for Yuzuru....a travesty! This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].

Firstly, your English is excellent! Secondly, oh my goodness what a beautiful thing happened to you as a result of watching Yuzuru perform Ten to Chi to - it really brought tears to my eyes. I honestly believe Yuzuru and his art/skating can bring about healing for people, I also fell in love with this programme when I saw it at JNats - I think Yuzuru actually said it was a programme which needed to be skated clean (didn't he fellow satellites??) - it was just magical on that day.

aww I love how Nobu talks about Yuzu - you can always feel the warmth there. I bet Yuzuru IS a demanding guy - when people have high standards of themselves, they often have high standards of others , so Nobu, BE PREPARED NEXT TIME there's a Yuzu in the house!!!

good reporting!

Its probably us listening to it repeatedly thinking we must have missed the "I'm so sorry" part!!

the "apology" - poor view/like ratio I thought.

He doesn’t admit his internalised views, just says “ignorant comments” - ignorant thoughts more like! And we know how long it takes people to change them! reading the sycophantic comments under the apology just made me fuming again!! It doesn’t just end with a sorry, the issue is much bigger and more ingrained than he acknowledges, and he doesn’t show much remorse for the hurt people felt at what he said. Also, he copied Yuzuru with his individual expression comment - given he had heard Yuzuru answer a similar question in an inclusive way, to come out with what he said in the interview shows his true beliefs I think. This is damage limitation to appease us given it seemed to only be us who spoke out publicly (did we see anyone else notable in the “debate” on Twitter? I didn’t…but I hope others did speak out?!) I think I am angry that I did think he was an OK person….but now I don’t, and despite my view that I am glad he at least apologised (some wouldn't even do that) I won’t be feeling the same when he skates/wins (ie well I don’t like his skating but he’s a nice lad) - I will just dislike everything about him and feel even more aggrieved about the treatment of Yuzuru in this sport….

I thought this was a good thread about the history of this "debate"

Ah you saw it damn!! Well I saw an objection to the photoshop on twitter and I didn't want to offend anyone. I didn't realise that some of Yuzuru's fans find BTS fans so annoying!! It did look weird, but it made me laugh a little, however others feel it is disrespectful to Yuzuru which I had no intention at all of being! We just find different things funny I guess!
