  1. ISU are doing a FAN SURVEY!! Lots of questions about their website and social media, but there is a box at the end where you can tell them whatever you like in terms of suggestions of what they could do to improve....you have till 9th December to respond! https://www.isu.org/isu-news/news/145-news/13815-isu-launches-fan-survey?templateParam=15
  2. Javi, about Yuzuru, in 2013....
  3. Article Translation (google): Hanyu's fans prepared the brightest support at the Grand Prix stage in Sochi. Japanese starred due to injury "Sport Day by Day" spoke with the organizers of the action 11/28/21 11:23 AM The Olympic season began with a large number of injuries for leading skaters. This changed the list of participants for several stages of the Grand Prix, and the Rostelecom Cup was no exception. One of the main losses of the tournament is the two-time Olympic champion Japanese Yuzuru Hanyu, who was forced to withdraw due to an ankle injury. But Hanyu's fans decided that his absence was not a reason to refuse the support of their beloved skater. They organized an amazing event, the main goal of which is to wish Yuzuru a speedy recovery and show him their love. Administrators of the VKontakte group "Yuzuru Hanyu ≡ hope and legacy of figure skating"prepared 60 flags and 200 banners with Winnie the Pooh, which were handed out to everyone, and another 30 small banners with bears and five large banners were hung on the stands: three with the image of Hanyu himself and two with Winnie. “Sport Day by Day” talked to the organizers of this action - Irina and Elizaveta, who told how this idea came about and, most importantly, what it is for. - Because of the coronavirus, you cannot throw toys on the ice, there has been no Pooh rain for a long time. I really wanted to support Hanya. In addition, lately there are a lot of phrases in the style: "Even if he hadn't showed up, there would have been a full hall." However, tickets were sold out in three minutes. But he took off, and the stands were empty - now you can sit in any place. Even now, on the day of the competition, you can buy tickets, before it was canceled everything was bought. Therefore, these Poohs are also a sign that you can say whatever you want, but people from afar still come to it, - said Irina. Many of Hanyu's fans turned in their tickets after news of his withdrawal from the tournament. They were upset, so another goal of the action was to support Yuzuru's fans and organize a real holiday for them, albeit without his main culprit. And we managed to do it. There are hundreds of photos and happy messages on social media. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  4. It's a nice change from him usually being robbed of one Oly gold!!
  5. Yesss!!! Justice at last for 2019! This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  6. JNats schedule and TV channels (sorry if posted already) This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  7. I have felt exactly this too! The ISU commentator DID mention Yuzuru a few times, mainly in relation to possibly being a contender for an Olympic place on the Japan Team, BUT the main thrust was to bigging up Yuma as possibly an equal contender to Yuzu and Shoma , or even the main Japanese contender. Other than that, Yuzuru was not really mentioned. We know how quickly Javi erasure happened, and definitely Yuzu erasure is already well underway, beginning in 2019 when he still could have had years of competitive skating left, with false URs and declining scores. His injury has given them all a great opportunity to speed the process along even more. It COULD just serve to make Yuzuru even more determined to prove them wrong though....
  8. There were many comments under Hersch's tweet saying "Good, his programmes are awful".....he maybe got the message after his 2 GPs that generally speaking, FS fans were not that impressed! (though of course some others say the programmes were brilliant...)
  9. I wonder if Yuzuru has his eye on Worlds rather than Olys - he'd love a third World championship I bet ....plus it's that circle again - starting with a Worlds medal in 2012 and (potentially) ending with one in 2022, 10 years on?? Just a thought! The main thing he wants to do is 4A (plus landing all the quads so 4F too) and unless he can start training soon I wonder if 4A is likely this season? How strong will his ankle need to be to start pounding it with 4A attempts? I don't know the answer, these are just my questions! Anyway I was really glad to hear his report of progress, whilst also being gutted not to see him skating again soon. Main thing is he gives himself the time he needs, there is no rush, next season is still there for him if he wants to continue.
  10. Phil Hersch says Raf told him that Nathan is making significant changes to both his programmes prior to GPF (oh so he IS going to the final then...no idea what his post meant on IG). The comments under Phil's tweet are worth a look at if you are interested....
  11. What does he mean?? There's GPF - is he not going to go if he qualifies (which he will I imagine)??
  12. We are all on tenterhooks waiting to see if Yuzuru will go to CoR - I'm still doubtful....
  13. aww Shun still can't talk to Yuzuru
  14. In the conference, Max, like Yuzuru himself, shows real passion for the sport/art, courage, and Truth. I really loved it, the integration of cultural, historical, artistic, and athletic strands, and the evidence of Yuzuru's insight, foresight, and innovation. He's so very important, if only the ISU and federations could SEEEEEE what we and other experts (including Plushy!) can see. I gasped aloud when Max openly said Yuzuru is the only person who should run the sport - of course I agree, but to HEAR it said openly in that forum was something else! 15. It really does - it seems worse to me this time than 2017/2018 period awaiting Yuzuru's return (but then they say pain fades with time don't they! Plus there was a fabulous outcome on that occasion to help forget the pain!!). it's only been a short time this time but the intensity of missing Yuzuru seems greater to me - probably Covid and not seeing him perform very often since Feb 2020 has something to do with it....) Edit: or maybe I just adore him more!! It's a distinct possibility
  16. @lay : response below under spoiler
  17. Oh I miss Yuzuru sooooo much I have that familiar pain in my chest after all this exciting (but sad too) news, how I long to see him skating! I had root canal treatment yesterday on a molar, and it's just amazing the technology, and chemistry knowledge and materials used, and the skill of the dentist - if we can do such fiddly and difficult things with teeth and nerves, how come we can't give Yuzuru strong new ligaments in his ankle?? (actually I wrecked my knee ligaments aged 14 yrs and the surgeon did some amazing thing with muscle from my thigh to support the knee and replace the function of one of the ruptured ligaments - not that I could ever do sports such as ski or figure skate seriously (although I DID do quite a bit of skating, tennis, and squash on it against advice of course tut tut); swimming and cycling OK, but that was many years ago and surgical techniques have surely progressed?? All you scientists/medics/physiologists you can see I am speaking from a stance of total ignorance lol!) Heal well Yuzuru and allow the ankle time to get strong again, I am sure you have all the best possible advice and knowledge on how to best aid recovery for this particular injury, looking forward to seeing you again once you are healed, sending love and healing wishes of course!

  19. If Brian was in Russia I'd be 100% sure he'd meet Evgenia. If Brian was in Spain I'd be 100% sure he'd meet Javi. If Brian is in Japan I am 99% sure he won't meet Yuzuru (unless Yuzuru goes to NHK, which I doubt very much when he can watch on TV and not travel...) I'd be happy to be proved wrong though!
  20. Oh this is lovely - maybe we will hear from others in the FS community too, wishing Yuzu the best. Still on the subject of withdrawal from NHK, Rika has had to withdraw too, poor Rika. Hope she is in shape for JNats.
  21. Yuzuru sometimes we argue a bit on here about the best course of action for you, it's borne from our desire for wanting only the best for you, but of course we know you are a strong minded individual who will make the best choice for yourself as you see fit - sometimes there really isn't a BEST decision, just A decision to be made and stuck to. There are probably pros and cons to any decision you might make about where it's best for you to be right now, but you are the only one who knows how to balance and prioritise your differing needs and make the right choice for yourself. Mental wellbeing and physical health are linked, you have to look after them both well. Your family and their situation will also come into this now that you have been a part of the whole family again, for a significant period of time. Their needs and views along with the pandemic will also shape any choices you make. We understand that and support you in the decisions you make - trust yourself and your judgement, because we do! (even if we think we might have made a different decision ourselves! We are all unique individuals after all.) Fellow satellites - I don't know why I wrote my thoughts to Yuzuru; reflecting on it I think probably because it's a way to avoid confrontation of any sort - he wont answer me back lol!! I also want to thank everyone here today - honestly I have felt gutted. I have had to get on with stuff, and forgotten for moments here and there about what has happened to Yuzu, and then remembered with a feeling like a heavy stone dropping in my stomach... I hope everyone looks after themselves (my teen and I had delicious chicken donburi from a Japanese restaurant takeaway, and we are going to watch one of the Shrek movies...again!!!), and that you all sleep OK tonight. Maybe tomorrow things will seem a bit brighter, I hope so.

  23. I want to send Yuzuru something so much, to cheer him, but what? Should we send flowers from PH to eg. ice rink sendai? or do you think he gets fed up of flowers? Some top quality Sake??(that's what I'd be having if I was him lol!) Sending messages - He knows we wish him well, it's all over Twitter and IG and here, so thinking of something more "concrete" if you like. I'd send him my heart, but he already has it.
  24. I thought of you after my intial shock and sadness for Yuzuru, I was so pleased for you yesterday. I've just cancelled my flight to Sochi as I am pretty sure Yuzu wont be going, and I'm not going if he isn't!! We are all more worried for Yuzuru than anything else though, and I am sure he knows that, for most of us, it isn't about us, its about him! BUT group hug to all fans, esp those who had tickets/flights/hotels booked too, it is so disappointing as we look forward to seeing Yuzuru skate so much
