What a romantic he is

I'm sure most of us noticed during these JNats how the relationship has developed between Yuzuru and the woman trainer/supporter/demicoach (do we know her name?? She was at SOI too I think in the summer, the person who looked at his bruised knee). It's so good to see, given no Brian Ghislain and Tracy at competitions. She seems lovely, my relationship with her has developed too lol!! She makes Yuzuru smile and laugh and she looks after him which makes all of us happy

Nice thought! but I still wonder why Pooh rain is banned from the ice - my understanding from studies quoted in the press is that the risk of transmission of coronavirus from surfaces is extremely low to non existent - it is an air borne virus, so I don't understand why Pooh rain is considered a risk at all? Anyone else know?

I'm so sad to hear you say that, but I totally understand why! Translators have been so kind to non-Japanese speakers and the least we could do is always be polite and courteous even if it is felt something hurtful has been said or implied - yes it should be checked out privately as you said Melodie. Poor Shu-pa, to be abused in that way; such a lovely presence on an increasingly hostile Twitter...we will miss them a lot.

I feel like these Olympics will be like a battleground for the future vision of figure skating, especially in the men's event where there is realistically someone who can win gold from both an artistically empty/technical side, and someone from a complete technical/artistic perspective. Rondo and Tenchi are such a good choice in this regard, and I love the new actions Yuzuru does at the end of Tenchi - it will send a clear message at the Olympics with his bloody slaying of the enemy lol!! (the enemy being the purely technical perspective of the sport rather than any individual I hasten to add! Yuzu is so dramatic I love it!). Yuzuru really will need to use all the weapons at his disposal to be scored in a way that can beat Nathan, and needs a clean skate in both programmes (what pressure!), but it is still absolutely obvious to anybody with vision (both in the sense of eyesight and a picture of the future of the sport) that Yuzuru is absolutely in a league of his own in the men's event. I looked at the protocol again yesterday having watched Rondo a trillion times and noticed there was not one 10 in transitions - just how??? after that demonstration of the whole programme practically being packed with beautiful steps and turns and twirls from one element to the next. I do feel hopeful that things might be going a bit more in Yuzu's direction but its very near the games and will all the judges and technical panel controllers have had chance to catch up?? (I know, I'm forgetting about the flag/nationality/fed deals here...) I share and agree your final comment "May Yuzu's win save FS from the further downfall"

Ones personality is pretty set by age 25 approximately so I don’t think we’ll be seeing him change anytime soon!! What a life he has lived - sometimes I wonder how he will adapt after his competitive career….but no time to think of that, there’s a 4A to land and an Oly gold to win!!! Happy new year all, and of course to Yuzuru too - may everyone stay safe, and achieve at least some of their goals this year! I’ve already achieved one - having a lie in on NewYears day lol! Didn’t require much effort tho!! 😂

Sorry it's so blurred but I was in a Pooh Rain frenzy!! I threw Pooh at him after his performance Pooh rain of one is not satisfying though we need a more coordinated approach!

I've been watching the 2 programmes one after another, it's quite overwhelming, they are so very beautiful. I thought about the performances and how Yuzuru is engaged in the whole process, from music choice and editing/arranging (and he is SOOOO very good at this), to costume input and theme of programme, never mind his unbelievable skating and artistic and musical and performance skills and how much he increasingly contributes to the choreo in his programmes - the judges really should be taking all of this into account on their performance/composition score imo - they give others, who have made nowhere near the effort or put the amount of thought into their programmes that Yuzuru does, they get the same (or better lol) scores as him. It's ridiculous. I was also thinking of what an artistic soul he is (to quote David Wilson) and how hard a figure skater has to work to show their artistic soul and creative spirit - so hard, because it IS also sport and requires not only athleticism and technical prowess (I can think of ballet or dance generally as a comparison), but also such mental fortitude to compete at this elite level, for years and years. And the bravery!! Jumping that 4A today in front of the sometimes sneering world, (bloody olyphil springs to mind - I actually like Phil's political views, but his FS views are blinded by partisanship and a lack of artistic appreciation and knowledge - Phil write about politics please instead of FS!!), working towards the 4A bit by bit (how Yuzuru builds and builds towards the beauty he shows us) I can't tell you just how much in awe of him I am. He is so special, and I think most of the people in the world who come across him see it, even without knowing what we know about him; JSF shouldn't dare to treat him in the way they have done, allowing other narratives to rise that I feel they could have challenged and prevented. Why is he suddenly getting these GOE and PCS scores that he has been denied over the last quad?? He was getting better all the time then too! Honestly I do not think we will see his like EVER again. never mind in a generation or in 50 years. If Yuzu lands the 4A (he will) I bet you anything the next person to do it will NOT have the all round skills, ability, musical talent, dedication, intelligence, artistic and creative genius that Yuzu has. He is a once in forever type of artist/athlete/person imo. Thank you so much Yuzuru - you should know that you have already far surpassed all others in the sport regardless of any scores or competitions, whether you include 4flips and lutzes at the Olympics or not, honestly nobody at all in the sport can compare to you. You totally have our hearts, that is all the evidence you need. You are truly the darling of the figure skating world. (also, the way you treat your fans and think about our experience of watching you perform is also incomparable to any others - the detail, the surprises, the suspense, the mystery, drama, the trolling, we love it so much!! And the bits you let us know about yourself, how intimate that can feel whilst you still manage to keep your life private....I really could go on and on lol!!) (sorry for long ranty type post lol it's just me thinking out loud if you like (cos no-one in my family or friend group want to discuss FS!!) - you cant tell from it, but I am sooooo happy today, what a wonderful holidays/Christmas for Yuzu and his family and fans!!!)

and Gala!! will we see WL in beautiful wisteria costume again and gorgeous 4T into spiral .... or something else unknown?? soooo much to look forward to with all 3 performances (and practice if we get to see any!!) when one Hanyu Yuzuru appears back in competition!

Oh it's so exciting that Yuzuru is skating this week at JNats!! I just had to write a poem of course!! What's the best thing in il Mondo? 🌏 It's Yuzuru skating to Rondo! ❤️⛸️ He'll dance light and airy 🕺 as if winged, like a fairy! 🧚 And I'll cry as I watch in my Condo! (waaah 😭😭)

So pleased Yuzuru feels he is well enough to skate - I hope he enjoys Nationals, he always looks so happy when with his countrymen and women in competitions - he must miss socialising in his hermit life!! Now I have to work till Weds, then lots of cleaning shopping cooking wrapping etc to do, I visited family yesterday as I have a feeling the UK will be going into some sort of lockdown very soon - but my number 1 priority from Thurs will be watching the men's event ! No 2 will be watching the women's event! Number 3 will be MOI! So excited to see Yuzuru skate - I laughed when I saw his programmes are To Be Determined on the fuji website - typical Yuzu!

Oh sorry, I didn't know he had also said questionable things I hope Plushy puts him right when that happens!!! No I (we) don't need to know them right now, it's nice feeling a little excitement for now that Yuzuru MIGHT be competing at JNats.

I know it's not really Yuzu related but it made me smile whilst (collectively) holding our breath for news! (well Mishin IS related to Yuzu imo actually because of Plushy and also because of the wonderful things he (Mishin) says about Yuzuru, one of the best ones being "You can beat Hanyu but you can never surpass him" - still holds true even though he said it ages ago!)
