  1. I think it is sold out and finding a place to stay would be problematic.... but it would be an awesome drive. The leaves are changing....Even weather is cooperating... this part of Canada is having a week of over 25 celsius . Nicer than our rainy summer...
  2. Just a few more days... I kick myself for not going to ACI. It is so easy for me to getvto montreal..... But, very happy for those heading that way. I just hope my internet is fixed. It has been bad since after WTT, meaning I cannot really watch live streaming. I cannot even get youtube to play half the time... damn cable company .....
  3. Very interesting to see what happens with judging at ACI.... I think what happens there will definitely influence what yuzu brings for gp series. I am sure those at TCC paid close attention to both challengers this weekend. At least we know judges so far do not care that Shoma's program is a repeat.
  4. My gosh. We knew this was happening last year but i guess hopes of change are dead now.t
  5. It is all shaping up to be very interesting.......... Nathan doing some quad backloading, adding 4loop, not just a jumping bean program.... big improvement Shoma... we will see soon what is thrown at him....
  6. Is his hair coloured? Looks reddish. And he has cheek bones under those cheeks... you can see the hollows. Who knew, lol!
  7. I am happy tracy will be there. I cant help but think Boston made the coaches realize Brian cannot be 2 places at once with 2 potentially nervous as heck athletes. Add jun hwan potentially.... both are needed and she and Brian know each other so well that it will help them do their jobs better too. I wonderif Ghislain might get credentials too....
  8. I DO enjoy Nathan. I love that he just decides to do however many quads he is in the mood for... not the approach most would take, which is why i enjoy it, lol!!
  9. Oh man, all I can see in my head is a return of the pro comps, with a tech program and then artistic program. I do NOT want that in amateur skating. I love that you have to weave artistry into your difficulty and vice versa. It is the perfect balance that is amazing. The skaters at the top right now are pretty amazing, some of the best skaters ever precisely because they needed to develop everything. Stupid judges. Their inability to follow the critera for awarding marks has helped create this monster of an issue. I do NOT want to see a decades old system, sp and lp, disappear just because there have been some issues lately. The judges need to do better... or they could separate panels instead.... rather than change what the skaters have to do on the ice because they are doing some amazing stuff out there.
  10. ITA. I will avoid that part. Last year at SC i noticed her lack of i ce coverage but no one talks about it..... evident in person. Ok. I prefer the sp to the lp.h Think this is beatable, but thought so last year too....
  11. Boyang does Star Wars.... YES!!!! So boyang to add the cantina music... i do not care if it appears out of nowhere!!! Love it! And luke skywalker's Tatooine outfit now has sparkles, lol!!!!
  12. Brian said he has noted how yuzu has really grown up this year: I think we all have been talking about that since we first saw him after the injury, and it continued all season. the maturity was quite evident and I think we will remark upon it again once this season starts. It is nice to know that what Brian sees on a day to day level translates out to the viewing public. Seimei will be very different.
  13. Seriously? I didnt see any of that during the skate.j Why cant iT just be nice skating.... When I Heard it was chopin i thought that was the tribute to him....and the spread eagle 2axel....lol. The breathing too
  14. Thanks, gladi!! Sounds like Brian definitely is ready to take on all comers with regards to his students. His vacation has worked well so far He has no need to politic but will absolutely do It if necessary. This season is going to be so difficult, but i feel like yuzu is in a really good place both physically and mentally. His team seems really supportive and now with yuzu being more open, everything is better than ever. And to Brian, concerning the cavalier 4A training talk.... so blase, lol.
  15. Oh geez. You knew Averbuch would have to try to do something too high brow for the rest of us in an otherwise lovely program. I hate that moment at the end, to the depths of my soul. it is so unnecessary. The program does not need her fish gasping at the end. Maybe she will make it more subtle as time goes on... please do so, Evgenia.
  16. I liked Boyang's sp. Very different from Spiderman, but I see improvement with his skating. I wasn't grinning, like after Spidey, but it is more serious after all. Can hardly wait until Finlandia...
  17. The pantomime is gone, but what happened at the very end? First she came to an ending pose and then seemed to move forward again with that weird look on her face. Please tell me that is not the ending. I was happy until that moment!! And, my goodness... my Russian pairs loving self is crying with tarasova/morozov's sp. It could be so amazing, but instead is so awful. I love this team, I want them to reach their potential and instead, blech! Maybe I still have all the feels from '94 with M/D.... with time the brilliance of the past teams and choreographers shines even brighter...
  18. Lol. Stephen Gogolev: the only known child Yuzu doesn't grin and smile at.... instead gives side eye, lol!!!!
  19. Kid was stephen gogolev....who does 4lutz, lol.
  20. Can he just compete in the UA, the black and red one? His body lines are much more evident. I can't describe how much I love the sit spin position in his final spin... it's just pure love on this end.
  21. l liked Med's program. I think it's because I have always loved that music, calm and elegant. I found the first spin a bit awkward and slow, but I"m sure it's because it's September. The program built nicely and I'm sure she'll do very well with it. This will sound petty, but my favourite thing will be if she starts off the program with her mouth closed... no angsty expression on her face. If that is gone, I"m sold. It's her best work to date. I loved Alina's program. It's dramatic and she really hits the highlights well. I think her moves into the 2A are wonderful and when she hits that jump it will be great. I would love to see them throw marks at her like they do at Med. either way, both of these girls have really good programs and will do well with them. Med because it's calm and subtle, Alina because it's dramatic and emotional.
  22. I had no idea paprika was usedvfor anything other than the spice!!! Peppers are vegetables and paprika is spice... you learn so much around here
  23. Oh gosh, I'm probably the biggest introvert around, so I absolutely understand avoiding them...I decline even family get togethers, lol. I know we've had these discussions before, but I still think it would do him good.... even if to just practice his out of rink English. I think I just want to know he has more and better memories of his time in Toronto beyond the skating rink, foot injury isolation, robins, and squirrels! I mean, if I found out he had a craving for Timbits, (mini round Tim Horton's doughnuts) I'd be content!
  24. Too bad he does not go, socializing even a little bit is good for even those who prefer time on their own, but everyone is free to do their own thing!! I would like it if he did do these things just because I want him to be a bit more comfortable outside of Japan, but I am sure he has his own routine there after 5 years already.... and he has been pretty successful with it!
