And they both have glasses.... although we see Yuzu far too seldom in them...
-
Lol. I expected to see photos of his arrival when I woke up... guess he wasnt on the only flight leaving Toronto for Tokyo yesterday... or if he was they got him out secretly. Or he got there earlier this week. Good job, yuzu. his ability to hide upon arrival in Japan is great. Hmmm... some celebrities get whisked out side doors, wonder if he gets that there too... makes sense.
-
My guess isthat he has either already flown and landed ( yesterday or before), or they are currently in the air.... which would get him there late Sunday afternoon Japan time. If he left earlier then, well done Yuzu, for avoiding detection upon arrival....if he is on the flight right now, well, we will know in a few hours.

This reminds me of absolutely hilarious pictures you see from time to time on the internet that show signs from around the world with hilarious attempts at English translations for things like restaurants, or signs etc.. The people have tried their best, maybe using computer translation programs, but the number of double meanings that result have me in stitches.
-
A person can say, in english, * I have nothing on* ( meaning nothing going on), but it is fun to take it as literally *nothing ON* which is even more fun when you read that that is when he likes to play *games*, ahem. Worth a good giggle, these translations.

I really liked Tracy's interview. She seems so lovely, genuine and such a good influence on everyone she deals with at TCC... and I loved all of her little stories about the skaters...

What kind of product is he promoting there? a cream? I know what company Kose is, but as for actual product....no clue, lol!!

Kostornaia out of JWC. Too bad. She's just such a gem to watch, a real treat, so it's disappointing. But, the event will still be very high quality and I look forward to it... and I really look forward to what she can do next year in seniors...

2019 Russian Ladies World Team Selection

This season was just so strange at Nats. The top 3 were juniors, the Olympic champ didn't skate well, the Olympic silver medallist didn't skate well, the hot 3A skater was sick...the lower ranked seniors skated a bit better... etc.... Nationals really didn't decide anything among the top ranked senior girls so they were left with many skaters, many competition medals, on and off performances.... no wonder it was tough to decide. Honestly, if I had been on that panel I'm not sure who I would've chosen either.... -
Omg. Still female? Lol. At least they got the decade right.
-
He definitely looks older in that first picture. I would say even in his 20s... and male!!! (not that I never thought he looked male, just the aging programs always peg him as female) I wonder what the aging programs would make of that picture....

I questioned it from the beginning when the link wouldn't even take me there. And English CBC would've jumped on that news like chicken on a bug if it had been true. -

Wow. I went to work this morning with another winter storm starting, forecast to last all day...and I came home thinking that our 15-20cm of snow was the big storm of the day... This news here and the discussion far eclipses that!! So Med gets the vote of confidence. Wow, but i"m not surprised. I had a feeling she would after the huge numbers she put up this weekend, despite her fall and despite Liza landing her 3A. Is it fair? I see the arguments for both sides. But, the decision is made even if I think the decision making process really makes it harder on everyone. Im really not sure how either Alina or Med will perform... while Med seems to be improving, we have no idea how Alina is doing, despite the release of a nice combo on instagram. Neither girl has been stellar/consistent this season and both have major flaws. A part of me is wishing that Sofia continues to go like the energizer bunny and finishes ahead of both of them... after all, she is the one who kind of threw the wrench in the grand plan this season by doing so well that she could not be dismissed (without her it would have been Alina/Med/Liza, pretty straightforward). Personally I could definitely see both Rika and Kaori on the podium.... I would love that. Edit: from everything I've heard Brian is a very caring and lovely person in real life (Javi sees him as a 2nd dad, and I think most people would agree that JAvi is a nice guy)- 265 replies

That's a tad bit mean. We're not good, we're in a sad position right now, but lots of countries without top contenders get a spot so....
-
I would love to! We absolutely don't need 3... not even 2... but actually, I'd sell it to Japan first... just because of Mai.
-
Yes, of course! But, while Yuzu's is a feel good story by the end, the Russia ladies drama and what goes on behind the scenes and behind closed doors in Russia is always intriguing... Edit: and in Canada we really don't have anything like that! so vanilla....
-
The drama... this could be a better documentary than we get at the Oscars.... more intrigue, back door deals, lobbying, maybe even money (just guessing, for drama ya know) Edit: is it bad that I almost wish RusFed gets what it deserves after this?

I would say that Mikhail's jump problems are more between the ears rather than anywhere else... I don't know how much he needs a tech coach vs someone who can get him in the right frame of mind...
-
Very interesting. Feel a bit sorry for the skaters. You could go ahead and say, well, they are athletes and know to keep training just in case, but they are human and this has to play on their emotions too. it cant be easy.

I celebrated by eating lots of chocolate... and drank vanilla coke. Nice and healthy!

It is a different way to decide the world team, but it makes sense too. They want to choose the person rounding into form *now* closer to World's...the *hot* skater... Pneumonia put the brakes on Liza's momentum. If she didnt get sick she was a lock for World's. Her biggest weapon is her 3A and if she doesn't have it, down goes her tech advantage and the PCS. RusFed wants results at World's and whoever does best here, esp between Liza and Med, then they go.... I feel it is really between them. If neither impresses, Stanislava goes, provided she remains consistent.

Good to see Yuzu! I have to say, after all the bad weather we've been having in southern Ontario, today was the first day we actually had some real SUN, with nothing else bad going on... I know I had more jump in my step and felt great all day, and that was before I came to visit the Planet. Maybe Yuzu felt great today too and was in a good enough mood to decide to come out of his cave and say hi.

Thanks, Hydro. Great! I was wondering about the schedule and if I would have to take a *sick day*... Glad I drove through the snow/ice pellet/freezing rain storm the last couple of days to go to work even though I could have stayed at home (my coworkers did)... I feel less guilty about taking a day in March!!

Just be careful in the context you use it... there seem to be many articles online saying it means specifically that... LOL. we are so dry we are talking about emojis... we really need water...
