  1. I am sure both Brian and Tracy are as happy to have their boys all together as we are... but Yuzu looks the happiest with that big scrunchy face grin, lol. Thanks to Tracy for knowing what the fans want and giving it to us Edit: *the boys* no matter who goes to TCC, *the boys* will always refer to Yuzu and Javi, the 2 who together raised the skating game and conquered the world.
  2. Happy New Year to everyone!! It's still hours away from me yet, but I'll probably fall asleep before it happens, lol!! I had a funny moment today. I was teaching one of my stretching classes, the first after the Christmas break and one client was saying " I can't! I can't!" and I automatically replied " Yes, you can!" and she said "NO!" In that moment I was totally reminded me of that famous clip of Yuzu doing his exercise class where he was talking back to the instructor and she was saying " yes, you can!" It hit me that I was replying the exact same way. The class was wondering why I started laughing after that exchange, lol!! Made my day... although my client wasn't a teenage figure skater, lol!!
  3. I always hear "I'm back!" Not *come back* when he speaks after his sp.... it's more *um back* which is *I'm back* ... just sayin'
  4. 2018. Quite the mix of emotions. Some very low lows, but some momentous highs... and a perfect record in competition, despite everything!!! A year to remember.
  5. I was also wondering when this was filmed, and where. If it was recent, is he in Japan? That would be nice for the holiday considering he wasn't home last year.
  6. FAOI Sendai.... it is about time....
  7. I am sure that once she gets a handle on her technique then she will try new styles... and maybe while learning new technique it would be better to stick to familiar things... all at once is very hard and maybe they all bit off more than they could chew. I have a feeling her Tosca will be much more her thing and it will be better received, provided she does the elements. And yes, her tango presentation isn't quite there either. So much comes down to music choice and I sort of feel lost listening/watching the first tango she uses... i think it is very difficult music to skate to.....Satoko also has a tango and I feel completely different about it purely because I think her selections are more enjoyable and seem easier to skate to... Either way, we saw her a month ago and so much can change in a month. This will be a very interesting competition that I am really looking forward to seeing... this, and the J nats ladies comp... we will be spoiled this weekend....
  8. I didn't think the other sp worked, AT ALL. She seemed to be more confused by how to present it every time (probably for a whole variety of reasons that have been discussed repeatedly in competition threads), but if this one is more comfortable for her and feels more familiar (presentation wise), then I hope it gives her the confidence that she needs to perform her best. I am not a fan of Misha's choreography, but perhaps because they know each other the choreography will fit her more than David's did. Stressful time to try something new, but she had to do it sometime because things weren't working up until now... all part of finding out what works and what doesn't... i wish her luck.
  9. Lol. I don't get what the fuss is about. Well no, I get that people are upset she filmed him, but I agree with those who think she probably had no idea who she was filming. She wasn't even focused on him.. i think she probably just enjoyed her experience at the club because it is well known for being exclusive and for the well heeled... she showed the food, the curling pic, saw some live skaters practicing... not every single person who goes to TCC for an event knows who he is and why he is important. She should be left alone... and I am happy to have seen it.
  10. That was quick. A few days ago she's competing well at GPF and now, just days later she's quite sick. Makes you wonder if she already had it starting while there... hope she can recover quickly and well. Her season has been stellar so far....
  11. I knew dishwashers sang little tunes to show how happy they are to be finished (:)) , but I didn't know microwaves did that, lol!
  12. Omg. I didnt even consider getting cake for myself... what a fantastic idea and reason to indulge myself i think chocolate truffle or ganache or....
  13. When I read that Yuzu is already back in Toronto I laughed... 3 weeks of rest is up this weekend so I guess he wants to be here to get started on his rehab as soon as the time is up, lol. Boy means business... he had every reason to stay in Japan for his birthday etc., I mean, what's a few days here and there? But nope, not Yuzu.... gotta be back and ready to go
  14. Happy Birthday to Yuzu.... still the 6th here, but it's the 7th in Japan... so he gets 2 days of birthday messages from those around him, which is probably nice!! I think, since he's a big fan of skating (as well as skating himself, lol), he'll probably enjoy a skating binge with the competitions from Vancouver!! And no, unless he's not ready himself, there is no way JSF won't give him a spot at World's... it would be like not including Gretzky, or Federer, Nadal, Steffi or Michael Phelps etc., when they wanted to play for their countries... i am not worried.
  15. Sad but glad. Well, at least there is no huge rush to come back quickly, so while we know he isn't happy, at least he isn't as mentally anguished as last season with that time frame/pressure he was under to make it for Olys. Hope he can enjoy some down time even though that doesnt seem to be his style when off the ice. The way I see it, the fans of the rest of the field at GPF should count themselves lucky ( not to say that is how the skaters feel, they are sportsmen who also are highly competitive and want to compete against him). Yuzu was on fire with his sp (and miles ahead in score) and his free was looking great for so early... I think he was very ready this season with few weaknesses and was ready to take on the world. Now I can watch with less stress... go jun... 3 weeks rest will be by GPF... month of rehab by new year... training some time in the new year...
  16. I want to know the next part!!!!!
  17. It didnt bother me. They showed that screen again today and explained that there Is a question mark concerning his ankle Injury, and that Keegan Is first alternate. Made sense to me. If they hadnt mentioned the Injury It would have been worse.... they are giving the audience credit for knowing what's going on. But, thats just me.
  18. I have wanted this information for ages. If only they could somehow show the info also in relation to a person's height, then we could see how far/high each person is jumping above their own measurements... and compare it to others. Then you could see who was really punching above their weight, so to speak... and then it could be marked... and then etc., etc., ....
  19. In that picture of Shoma and his brother... his brother definitely has the look of someone who poses for a living... or could if he chose to do so. His features are more *chiseled* than Shoma's. A nice looking pair of brothers.
  20. Probably he thinks Yuzu doesn't stand and pose enough... or shake/wiggle his hips. It IS from plushenko....
  21. Sometimes in videos of him arriving at the airport, or getting out of vehicles, you will see her and they look very similar apart from hair length, age (lol), and she's quite tall as well....
  22. You would definitely recognize Mama Hanyu. He definitely looks a lot like his mother.
  23. Lol. *Bemused Canadians* that was so true at ACI. I thoroughly enjoyed watching everything transpiring there!!
  24. I am so happy for Javi that he's getting the recognition he deserves from his home country (and others). I really want to see what effect he has on skating in Spain...will there be some stars on the horizon in 5-10 years time? He will be the perfect mentor for any up and comers. And I love the last tip in the useful expressions sheet: *this gentleman will pay for everything*... LOL
  25. Everyone is searching for such in depth meanings to these programs... for me, I just find them both entertaining. Moves match the music, he skates well, jumps well, and is a force of nature skating to them... and is just so darn cute while doing all that, even with murder face. I love Origin. The end. And Plush: Please don't try to see your skating style in his programs because even if he imitated your moves exactly, they would look entirely different because how you both move is so very different. He's not trying to be a clone, he's showing you his admiration for you and your ability to compete so well, almost all the time.
