That is why Yuzu said he would choose to be a cat if he was an animal!
-
“Handsome is as handsome does” Character and behavior are more important than appearance. A person's good actions, rather than outward appeal, define his or her handsomeness in the eyes of others. Yuzu is beautiful inside and out!
-
Regardless of the results of this poll, WE KNOW that Yuzu is the most handsome.

Narumi Takahashi, a longtime friend of Yuzu, has nicely summarized the duality of Yuzuru Hanyu: Her friend Yuzu off the ice vs. Her idol Yuzuru Hanyu on the ice.

I edited my original post to say that @Lunna is correct. I have done some research regarding this and it would appear that Yuzu would not qualify for any of the exceptions which would allow him to enter Canada as a foreign national from Japan. The main point of my post, however, was that Yuzu would remain in Japan to compete in the NHK Trophy and that he would not consider taking a circuitous route through the Europe in order to come to Canada.

Canada will allow international travelers if they are “essential”. Jason Brown was allowed entry when he was armed with sufficient documentation even though he is from the United States which is probably the worst country in the world for Covid-19. Since Japan has a much better record for controlling the pandemic, Yuzu would probably be allowed into Canada with the proper documentation if he really wanted to return to the TCC. This would be more practical than taking a circuitous route through Europe since he would only be required to self-quarantine for 14 days upon arriving in Canada. This might make sense if he intended to stay in Canada for the entire season, but, because the JSF probably wants him for the NHK Trophy, there’s no point in travelling to Canada, self-isolating for 14 days in Canada, and then at some point travelling back to Japan and self-isolating there for another 14 days. Furthermore, I don’t think that the JSF wants its skaters to travel internationally and, even if it allowed its skaters to do so, Yuzu probably wouldn’t expose himself to the unnecessary risk of contracting Covid-19 through international travel when he can stay in Japan and compete in the GP series there. Since the ISU is allowing skaters to compete in only one GP event, Yuzu travelling to Canada and self-isolating for 14 days to train at the TCC will only make sense if the JSF wants him, and Yuzu agrees, to compete in Skate Canada International. Edit: @Lunna is correct.

Oh well, when Keegan’s away… Nam will play...

Also with Camden Pulkinen – he was super impressed and thought that Yuzu was a classy man when Yuzu went out of his way to take a selfie with Camden.

I don’t know whether this has been posted before, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it – such a serene look and flawless beauty.

I thought it was very cute that when you click on “Translate to English”, the English translation for the caption is “Why is it so cute?” – “It” is so appropriate in describing an extraterrestrial alien. The literal translation from Japanese would be “Why so cute?” since the Japanese caption does not use “he”, “she” or “it”. In English, we would probably say, “Why is he so cute?” [It’s funny what we notice in this very dry pandemic season.]

This is apparently a listening comprehension test. The transcript on the second page indicates that this test was based on listening to CNN’s Coy Wire’s video “The Legend of Yuzuru Hanyu”. This is a link to the short version of that video: https://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2018/02/19/cnni-japan-figure-skating-megastar-wire-pkg.cnn/video/playlists/winter-olympics-2018/ Although both A and D apply to Yuzu, since this is a listening comprehension test, the “correct” answer for the purpose of the test is D.

In the meantime, people at Ice Rink Sendai are hearing Yuzu say “Kuso!” a lot…

Phil Hersh spoke to Brian and Tracy via telephone and the article is actually neutral and informative not only about the TCC skaters, but about the Grand Prix series. https://sports.yahoo.com/brian-orser-reveals-hanyu-medvedeva-120430646.html And about Yuzu training by himself in Japan – he is used to it and if he really needs help, he will contact Brian or Ghislain.

My wife said that it hurt, but she was fine and had a little story to tell about her visit to the TCC in 2018. Fortunately, she is not allergic to bee and wasp stings.

This is the CCTV coverage of Yuzu’s PyeongChang Olympics Seimei with the quote that you are looking for with English subtitles. https://streamable.com/l3j0y

My wife and I were having our pictures taken at this garden outside the TCC after 2018 ACI when she received an unwanted souvenir of a sting on her hand from one of Yuzu’s beloved guard wasps! “Kuso!” = “Shit!”

It’s from The Ice 2012 guys group number “Club Can’t Handle Me”. Edit: @sweetwater beat me to it while I was watching the program!

Now, even wine (2019 Domaine Roy & Fils Yamhill-Carlton Rosé) is being compared to Yuzuru Hanyu. https://www.oregonlive.com/wine/2020/07/beat-summer-heat-with-an-icy-swimming-pool-of-rose.html "I'll likely take some heat for putting ice cubes in this profoundly elegant pinot noir, but it performed so well on the rocks. Aromas of violets, grape popsicles and wild strawberries mix with a touch of black pepper spice. Flavors of orange peel and nectarines skate on brisk acidity. This is the best performer on ice since Yuzuru Hanyu."

The Plant brothers are from Ottawa. Isn’t that your neck of the woods, @rockstaryuzu?

I love “Change” by Monkey Majik, a band formed in Sendai in 2000 consisting of two Canadian brothers Maynard Plant and Blaise Plant as vocalists and two Japanese on instruments. I think my favourite version of Yuzu performing this is at the 2011 Nagoya Festival when he was 16 years old. I believe that the last time he performed this was at 2014 Together on Ice, the show that he produced in Sendai after he won gold at Sochi. I also prefer the original version of “Change” by Monkey Majik performed with the Yoshida Brothers on shamisen.

I don’t know what the original language says, but based on what @Kestrelz and @FlyingCamel have said in English, I’m guessing that the message Yuzu is trying to get across is: “I hope that this book inspires everyone to achieve their dreams.”

Although it’s not a very good picture, Number One is, as @Veveco has already identified, Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels. He is the first true two-way ballplayer since Babe Ruth – he is an ace pitcher and a designated hitter. He can throw 165 km/h (102.5 mph) fastballs and hit home runs. He is 193 cm tall (6’4”) and good-looking. He has also been challenged by injuries. Shohei Ohtani and Yuzuru Hanyu have a number of things in common. They were both born in 1994 (Shohei in July) and in the Tohoku region. They both have a tremendous work ethic. They are both humble and likable. They admire and respect each other. If Yuzu had to be second to anyone, you couldn’t pick a better one than Shohei Ohtani. Rikako Ikee is a 20-year-old swimmer and was Japan’s great hope for the 2020 Summer Games until she was diagnosed with leukemia in February, 2019. I believe she is hoping to compete at the 2024 Paris Summer Games.

Yuzu could very easily pass for a teenaged junior skater here.
-
That’s the versatility, magic, “gap”, whatever of Yuzuru Hanyu. He can look game face scary one second and squishy cute the next. Movie idol smoking hot in one picture and innocent smiling teenaged-boy-next-door in another. Or, as @Kikooo said, cute and sexy at the same time. Yuzu is a man-boy of countless faces.
