Yes, Yuzu has a nice ass and I was expecting great things with the lyrics "shake your ass", but I was sorely disappointed with his rather underwhelming tentative ass jiggle when he debuted LMEY at JNats. There was no improvement in the ass shaking department at Worlds. I don’t expect to see anything different at WTT. 2019 PW at SCI in Kelowna was a lot more mature than Sochi PW and smoking hot, particularly if you were lucky enough to see it in the arena, but there really is no chance for ass shaking in that program. LGC is similar in that there is no ass shaking segment and that's probably a good thing because in those purple pants of sin, his ass didn't need any shaking. If he had shaken his ass in those pants, God only knows what kind of mayhem he would have caused. As for Yuzu hip rolling in 2015 FaOI Makuhari Vertigo, I was frankly disappointed when I watched it back then because he didn't seem to have his heart in it. He seemed very self-conscious. I was not able to find it, but there was or is a video of Yuzu performing Vertigo in a blue team versus red team contest when he was 15 or 16 and he was much more animated, enthusiastic and natural in his unabashed smiling sex appealing to judges in his hip roll. Other rock type programs which lacked ass shaking were Change and Hello I Love You. But, as @Figure_Frenzy has pointed out, perhaps the step sequence is preventing Yuzu from really moving his ass. We really need to have Jeff Buttle re-examine that part of the program so that Yuzu is able to fully take advantage of his assets.

Nobunari Oda, the figure skater, is a descendent of Oda Nobunaga who along with Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu were the three great samurai feudal lords who brought an end to the sengoku jidai and unified Japan.

I think that Yuzu’s swaying movements of his head and/or upper body are more like a bobble head than a pudding, but pudding is a cute nickname. When I first read that an anti had called Yuzu “a little pudding in the human world” because of him rocking his body like a “jiggling” pudding, my first thought was that this was in reference to Yuzu “jiggling” his pudding ass in LMEY…

I apologize for quoting myself, but I had an afterthought that after Yuzu competitively tames Nessie we might consider calling it “Yon-han-chan” – 4 ½ chan – to distinguish it from other quads.
-
IMHO we should avoid tempting fate. We have no confirmed sighting of Nessie yet. When Yuzu lands Nessie in competition, then it becomes a friendly, tamed Yon-chan.
-
Nessie is a nickname for the Loch Ness monster. Like the Loch Ness monster, the 4A is rumored to exist, but has never been seen. That is why The Planet nicknamed the 4A as Nessie – never seen and a monster of a jump.
-
Yes, but Yuzu was only 15.

At 31 years young going for a new kind of Quad – 4-peat consecutive Olympic Gold Medal.

Well, it's one thing to talk about going to medical school and a completely different animal going through the actual paces. Nathan may have read this: Going to medical school to become a doctor is a big decision to make, so make sure you know what you are in for. Besides 4 years at Yale, there are 4 years at medical school, 4-7 years of residency, 1-2 years of fellowship, and THEN you get to practice medicine. That's a long road. Make sure it's really what YOU want to do. Dean Chang recommends that you volunteer for at least 2 years in a hospital, and get hands-on experience taking care of patients to make sure you like doing this before committing to a career in medicine. https://science.yalecollege.yale.edu/sites/default/files/files/Advice for premeds.pdf Countless students graduate from high school convinced that they are going on a particular career path and then find themselves changing direction in University. I was one of them. Well, if @Fay is correct and Nathan has switched career paths, I don't know whether he will retire after Beijing since the Statistics degree program at Yale seems to be less intensive compared to becoming a doctor.
-
Hasn’t he said as much? He wants to get his medical degree. Before he even gets to apply to medical school, he has to complete his four years of undergraduate. How far along is he at Yale? I thought that he has been taking a break from his studies in order to work exclusively on his skating in order to prepare for Worlds and the Olympics.

Yuzu has the “IT FACTOR”. No one else does.
-
Hear, hear! I noticed that myself!

Let’s get real for a moment. Haven’t any of you ever silently wished that a major rival of Yuzu, especially one who consistently gets over-scored, would screw up by falling, stepping out, popping a jump, etc.? I’m not talking about wishing an injury on anyone. Just wishing that they would have a non-injury causing fall or step out? Something that would force the judging panel to give less than a perfect score? If you never have, then you are a lot more altruistic than I am. I think that it is just human nature. Since this is a taboo subject on the Planet, I will keep such thoughts to myself. And I am not afraid of karma. I am already a quadriplegic.

A country may have a maximum of three entries per discipline. Countries earn two or three entries by earning points through their skaters' placements. The points are equal to the sum of the placements of the country's skaters (top two if they have three). If a country only has one skater, that skater must place in the top 10 to earn two entries and in the top two to earn three entries. If a country has two skaters, the combined placement of those skaters must be 13 or less to qualify for 3 entries and 28 or less to qualify for two entries. For example, in the 2013 World Championships in London, Ontario, Yuzu was in ninth place following his short program, but due to his determination, he placed third in the free skate, fourth overall. Daisuke Takahashi placed sixth, so their combined placements equaled 10. Since the combined placement of the Yuzu (4) and Daisuke (6) was 13 or less, they earned three entries for Japan at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Yuzu’s hobbies are playing video games, collecting earphones and listening to music. His passion is collecting Olympic Gold Medals – numbered consecutively or 1000.

Thank you very much @sanaemilia_pol and welcome to the Planet!

That’s going to look weird! Everything about it will be wrong – hair, pose, and his face and body have changed.

I am also hoping that Skate Canada International will be able to proceed safely with Yuzu competing and spectators in attendance. It is scheduled to be held in late October at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre located on the beautiful campus of the University of British Columbia, my alma mater, in my home town of Vancouver. I hope to see you and a lot of other satellites there! Fingers crossed!

I am absolutely sure that Yuzu would donate all of the royalties he receives regardless of whether they are from the original Japanese books or the translated ones. My question is whether he has received or will continue to receive royalties at all from translated versions of his autobiographies. From this limited discussion that I found, it is not clear if he would receive anything from the sale of translations of his books. https://www.quora.com/How-much-does-an-author-make-per-book-on-a-translated-version-of-their-novel If he does not receive royalties from translated versions of his books, neither Ice Rink Sendai nor reconstruction will not benefit from the sale of those translations.

Yuzu donated all of his royalties from the original Japanese "Aoi Hono" and "Aoi Hono 2" to Ice Rink Sendai: https://yuzusorbet.tumblr.com/post/157848218067 That is how Ice Rink Sendai benefited from the sale of the original Japanese autobiographies. Does Yuzu continue to receive royalties on the translations of these autobiographies?

We have had some in British Columbia as well. Coastal BC is a hotbed of seismic activity and we are at risk for a mega quake. Increased seismic activity, climate change and global warming, polar ice caps melting at alarming rates, ocean levels and temperatures rising, food chain at risk of collapsing, global pandemic… Do you think Mother Nature is trying to tell us something? Add to that rising nationalism throughout the world, Trumpism and virtual Civil War in the United States, the highest level of tension between the most powerful nuclear equipped countries in the world since the Cold War… How lucky we Satellites are to have Yuzuru Hanyu at a time like this… If only the leaders of the world were as globally and environmentally aware, selfless, generous, intelligent, all-embracing and positively motivated as Yuzuru Hanyu…

Thank you! I was able to get an appointment for my Dad to get his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at a drive-through clinic next Monday, March 15. March 15 is the first day that is available for seniors over the age of 90 and indigenous seniors over the age of 65. I tried to book online after midnight last night, but had to wait till 7 AM this morning. I tried calling to make an appointment but all the phone lines were jammed and only responded with busy signals. I went back online and although I had to try five times because each time the appointment time was already taken, I was finally able to book the appointment for him. Ours is the only provincial health authority that provides for online vaccine bookings. The rest of the province has to call in. I also arranged for a friend to drive him to the appointment. My Dad was very happy when I told him about the appointment. When I told him that Yuzu is currently planning to compete at the World Championships in Stockholm, he was very concerned and wondered why they were proceeding with the event in the current circumstances. He hoped that Yuzu would be vaccinated well before the event. It takes about 10 days after vaccination to reach maximum immunization.

Thank you! My Dad loves watching Yuzuru Hanyu videos and is always happy when I email him links to YouTube and Dailymotion videos of Yuzu. He said that Yuzu was “perfect” when he saw the videos of “Let Me Entertain You” and “Heaven and Earth” from Japanese Nationals. He is also always praising Yuzu for his intelligence and generosity. He says that Yuzu is a “very special person”. My Mom passed away in 2008 a week before our beloved Maine Coon cross cat Sunny, both from cancer. That was a very bad week. It was a bad year because we also lost my wife’s parents in Japan. I know that if my Mom was alive, she would have loved Yuzu and become a Pooh-costume-wearing, loud attention-getting, embarrassment-inducing Fanyu! My dear Mom was no shrinking violet! She was not a typical Japanese lady of her generation. She spoke her mind, never backed down from anyone, was always quick to react to racism and injustice and protected her brood like a lioness. At same time, she was a lot of fun, a practical joker and always the life of the party. I know that she would have loved to get together with satellites at competitions.

Hey everyone, my wife and I received our first dose of Pfizer vaccine today. I’m in British Columbia, Canada, and we are in Phase 2 of the immunization rollout. Phase 2 includes people like me who are on long-term home care and their spouses (if they have enough vaccines). My 94-year-old father who lives on his own and who still drives and has been approved for his driver’s license for another two years has not received his yet. I will be going online on Monday, March 8 to schedule a drive-through vaccination for him on or shortly after Monday, March 15. A couple of friends have volunteered to take him for the vaccines. My Dad was very happy to hear that my wife and I received our first dose of the Pfizer vaccine today. My Dad is amazing. His mind is sharper than mine (which is not much of an accomplishment) and he calls me every day between 5:30 PM and 6 PM to discuss the news that he has collected over the day by scouring the Internet. We have great conversations for 35 to 50 minutes every day about what’s happening in the world and in our lives. I don’t have to watch the news because he fills me in every day. By the way, it was my Dad who first mentioned Yuzuru Hanyu to me after he beat Patrick Chan at the 2013 GPF in Fukuoka. He is also a big fan of Yuzu and is always happy to hear news about him. I sent an email to the marketing and ticketing manager whom I have known very well at Skate Canada to inquire about their plans for ACI and whether SCI is still scheduled to go ahead in Vancouver in late October. (Unfortunately, I received an automated reply that she is no longer with Skate Canada.) I really want to attend both if they can make them safe. I have been watching and re-watching 2018 and 2019 ACI videos, especially the fan cam LP 6-minute warm-ups where Yuzu revealed his black and purple Origin costumes and the crowd went crazy. I really miss that! I really want to meet up with all the satellites that I know and others that I haven’t met yet especially over dinner and drinks. Sorry for the long rambling post. Feeling a bit buzzed after three large whiskeys on the rocks! Please everyone take care and stay safe. As Yuzu says, there is light at the end of the tunnel!
