He says he doesn't have a chance to podium at GPF unless someone bombs. He admits his 4Lo isn't good enough and that his flip has a wrong edge. But he also readily says yes when asked if he thinks he's the top man in Russia right now. Don't hold back Misha
liv Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 I love that honesty. I have to say I'm enjoying his skating far more this year than any previous year... and his exhibition is hilarious.
Guest turquoiseblue Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Stéphane Lambiel said nice things about Evgenia Quote Actually, I was very impressed by Evgenia's performance yesterday [short program at Ondrej Nepela Trophy]. Even though she is the strongest skater at the moment, I see this fragility and it makes me so moved and emotional. It's so beautiful, that's why I congratulated her. The jumps are great, but the emotions she is bringing on the ice are something really special. I hope that we will see her for a long time and we will enjoy her skating and her passion. Coming from Lambiel these words must be so precious to her! Good luck to our champion at NHK! I hope she can enjoy it even more than COR.

I am happy for her, I'm sure she'll treasure that. And work even harder, if that's even remotely possible! But honestly, I really hope she can snag that OGM and then she'll be relaxed. She has said she plans to stay to 2022 so she has 4 years to work on maturing as an artist and with less pressure too. Hopefully branch out a bit to peeps like Wilson or Shae, so that we get some amazing programs. Can't wait for Anna K at NHK, to see where she is at now, especially considering how she was sick prior to CoR.
Smultron Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Yeah, I would looooove to see what other choreographers could come up with for Evgenia, hopefully after PC? I am surprised at how much I am enjoying Karenina as a competitive program... When I saw it in summer as an Ex I didn't find it interesting at all, it felt very meh, but now I can't get enough of it, she feels the music so well and there are so many lovely choreographic details. So glad she ditched the original one, it looks so empty now compared to Karenina...
