souyouki
Thank you so much for the links! I always watch figure skating during the Olympics since I lived in a country that has a major presence in them (before Yuzu was even born, actually). But I never knew what the techniques are at a deeper level... I think I'll look at these links while I follow along the programs that I see and understand how skating technique and judging works :-)
ymy
Thanks... now I understand why yuzu needs to have another type of quad if he wants a 5-quad layout

There was a short feature that breaks down Yuzu's 4T (PW @ Sochi). Its title is "At the speed of 4.29m/sec" (literal TL). Though it's in Japanese, the graphical presentation should not be too much of a barrier. I want to dig that out, too. Maybe I put out a request at the media group. katonice
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was watching Skate America 2016 and looking at the protocols, and I was puzzled about Nam Nguyen's invalidated CSSp in his short program. Why was it considered invalid? He seemed to have met the minimum number of rotations on both feet. I thought he hit the positions okay too (or maybe judges thought differently?). Is there something I didn't notice?
