And I also question WR score if it is not from Yuzu...They must be inflated. And no matter how fancy Yuzu skates...Only 1 point difference in pcs...:( With what's happening with scoring lately and Olympic season I expect WRs to be broken, whether by Yuzu or others. I think you're setting yourself up to too much stress and anxiety if you focus too much on WRs. As Yuzu said score is score and performance is performance. That WR became a mental block for Yuzu as well. Don't let it consume you too. Right now, he has a healthier attitude with regards to his WR scores - if he performs as he intends to the maximum of his abilities, then the score will follow.

And no matter how fancy Yuzu skates...Only 1 point difference in pcs...:( Well, yeah. It's Olympic season. Expect it. The PCS are less scrunched up in the FS, though. An average of 9 PCS is 45 PCS in the SP but 90 in the FS. Clean Yuzu should have about 10+ PCS over anyone getting 44-45 and 90-91 in SP and FS respectively. Edit: Whether you think the difference should be higher, well, it's Olympic season, inflation is expected for all.
October 10, 20178 yr BTW, I found out Yuzu is the only one who didn't get gold in first competition among top 6 except Patrick who hasn't started ??? Blame Brian is trying hard for Canadian silver...

Blame Brian is trying hard for Canadian silver... It's part of his pattern. He needs a Canadian silver to get him going and he wasn't doing Skate Canada this year!
October 10, 20178 yr I would also like to mention that Nathan's personal best score for his SP is around 103 and Shoma's is 104ish, with similar layouts (only difference is if jumps are in first or second half). No matter how good their SPs are this season, there's a lot of ground in GOE and PCS to make up to a clean Yuzu at 112 and change. And that was with a 4S.
October 11, 20178 yr Miki is answering questions re:FS in a Japanese newspaper? I think here she's explaining Yuzu's scoresheet... (did it have to be Worlds'17 SP ??). Anyway, it's always nice to see how prominent FS is in Japan.

There are much worse protocols to review/examine.

She's just explains about what GOE is, levels of spins and steps, under-rotations etc. No mention of Yuzu, really, just using his score sheet as an example.

And good on the oji-san for being eager to learn!
