[2017] JGP (10.4-7) Gdansk - Stream & Discussion

Featured Replies

Serious question- is spinning actually harder for male skaters? Because some of the spins that have been seen so far are less than impressive (even discounting the donut spin attempts), regardless of whether the skater came from big or smaller fed. In the ladies field, it didn't seem that different between big/smaller feds.

Unfortunately, she screwed up a spin ...

Just caught up with the videos of the top ladies.

Ugh yeah, Eunsoo lost her balance on that spin. Costly points for her.

And another unclear edge call on her flip. Judges and TP eyes are very sharp :tumblr_inline_mzx8wwBqAg1r8msi5:

First time I've seen Kostornaia, and I must say I really liked her skating.

Nice edges and flow. And she's just 14!

Like Ted said though, she could use with a little more tightening in her air position.

And maybe not get too creative with the spin positions? Lol, I dunno, I just find some of them a bit weird.

No doubt they're difficult positions though, and the judges acknowledged that.

(Refreshing to see as well an Eteri student not tanoing and ripponing every jump. Not sure if that's intentional though, or because she just can't yet.)

And Panenkova must be relieved to finally perform clean this time.

Liked her program, and her jumps are great.

But the difference in skating skills with Kostornaia was quite evident, esp. since I watched them back to back.

Eteri students laying it down.

Will it really be an all-Russian roster for the final?

Still hoping for Rika and Eunsoo to make it through...

Is that salmon pink t-shirt seriously the costume for the program? Or did someone misplace a costume somewhere?

Okay, thanks Ted. Wow, feel bad for the skater.

Pretty sure I've seen that before so yes it's the actual costume I'm afraid

wow only one all-black in this group, I think

btw the guy with the pink thing looks like wearing some training gear, is it really a costume?

pls forgive my shallow contribution to the thread, I'll try to focus harder on the programs than on the outfits from now on:peekapooh:

The stream is being choppy for me... :(

Missed around half of the program - but I remember this abomination...

3Lz is what I managed to get!

The spin isn't too bad!

They can't get an all Russian final anymore. I've done the math and the most they can get is 5.

Jakub KRSNAK

yeah, that looks like training gear. Must be him

3S3T fall

no flow out oh the jump

3Lz fall

stumble on the stsq\

2A

This guy is cute. He's gonna be a heartbreaker when he's older.

Not very good on those jumps, though.
