I feel like Yuzu, age wise, could easily be Brian's son... and the fact that Brian, as coach, sometimes has to take care of Yuzuru's plushie just makes Yuzuru even more child-like to his eyes. Brian knows Yuzuru's story way better than so many, so I am sure he accepts this childish part of his and even feels affection towards it (plus, he sees Yuzuru when he is the absolute opposite of child, fierce and mature and strong, so he knows there's a balance lol)
