I honestly have no concept of levels or what's advanced or not so I just see things and go "huh let me try that" :tumblr_inline_mqt4grU8ua1qz4rgp:

But I can assure you I am definitely not advanced as a skater, I'm still an insecure noob flailing about

I cheated by doing backwards ones when I got tired. XD Backward ones are fairly easy for me? Especially once you pick up speed. And sometimes I cheat on my forward ones by not picking up my free foot when doing the first cross over push (not the underpush, that one you can't really cheat).

 

Hmm, I'm wondering if it's alright to put up youtube videos of warm-up drills? If anyone is interested, these are pretty similar to the ones my coach makes us do:

(if you have guts, do the double-3's with arms up =P)

Also, try to do this section of Yuzu's warm-up sequence down the length of a rink (without the besti squat):

Backward CCW ones are easy for me, but when I pick up speed I get scared (esp if I have to stay on a small circle). Backwards CW is hard and I think I need to ask a coach to fix some stuff for me because after a while it hurts a bit

I love backwards crossovers they're nice

 

For some reason whenever I try to do the traveling 3turn thing the second one always turns into a loop, I just can't do it :tumblr_inline_n18qr8XewT1qid2nw:

If you have more videos like that I'd love to see them, I'm always looking for inspiration

Back CCW are also easy, back CW are okay, but I do have a tendency to drag my toepick on the underpush more often, and this is the side where I have infamous "toepick meet back of blade and fall" episodes. There was this one time where that happened and I slide a couple meters on my butt. XD

OMG ME TOO doing backwards CW crossovers were like 80% of my falls (i don't jump multi revolution jumps so i don't fall that often) but the clicking of my front and back blades and falling I still have PTSD from....

 

I try to bend my knees a lot to keep it from happening again:tumblr_inline_ncmiffG34Z1rpglid:

Well I do a warm up drill for class that has me do back CW crossovers, slide to back CCW ones, and according to my coach, it's because the coordination and push from my left foot for the CW ones are not as smooth. =/ She told me to just go practice more. Q_Q

Yeah, I practice CCW wayyy more than CW. I feel like I can do back CW crossovers in my sleep :10814716:

I just realized, the ones we use to enter spins is CW..so my good side is actually my back CW crossovers that I can do in my sleep. My CCW ones are bad. :13877886:

Yeah the only reason mine are half decent is because i need them to enter spins! But I only do like 1-2 crossovers to enter a spin, it's not enough.... :13877886:

I just saw myself on videos and HAHAHAH sorry but you cannot beat me in worst crossovers ever. 

 

But at least I managed to learn the basic movement for backward crossovers now lol. Also, today was much better with the blade sharpened. I skated and took some breaks to avoid tiring my foot too much. It gets so hard to do ANYTHING when you get tired. Omg Yuzu I feel your pain so much and I don't even have asthma. 

 

I wish I learned how to skate when I was little... I could have been a much faster learner...

I need to practice my crossovers gahh. Maybe even try to film myself.

I feel inspired by Kevin Aymoz's ina bauer/spread eagle/back lunge on a circle thingy, that I want to try it as soon as I get back on ice. Will probably kill myself so if you don't hear from me for a while, you know what happened.

When I first saw videos of my crossovers I got depressed. Let‘s not compete over who hs the worst. :rofl:

 

And OFC it would get better once you sharpen blades! 

 

Actually I found out the best skating club in our federal state offers participating in adult classes as a guest for a very reasonable price. It‘s a two hour ride and early in the morning (I‘d have to wake up at 5am in the winter) buttttt I might actually participate from time to time and finally get to the bottom of how I can fix my crossovers, my salchows and everything else. Classes at our local rink are a joke lmao.
