You know, just from a purely skating perspective, I love A Fleeting Dream so much. It's all about the edges, the balance, the flow... simply skating, done well.

Just that may I have 2 silly questions first:

1) in the Globe streaming, are we not allowed to move backwards /forwards on our own pace?  how to skip the intermission when replaying?  
2) has it been proven if D+ Jp with VPN works, ie not D+ local country?

1. Yes, you can move on the global stream however you want  it's like watching a movie on a streaming platform, you can move at your own pace - pause, skip, go backwards etc.

2. Yes, D+ works with VPN, but I've noticed it mostly works with paid VPNs, not free ones - e.g. ExpressVPN - this has a free trial, you could check it out

To access D+ JP via VPN, before turning on your VPN, logout of your D+ account created in your country. Turn on VPN, go to disneyplus.com/ja-jp, log in as you normally would and you should get a pop-up message that you're travelling, that means your VPN works

Thank you very much!  Somehow I couldnt move the timeline bar of the replay window earlier but it does work fine now!  

A day later and I still haven't moved on from the most precious Gift... What an experience it must have been for those lucky ones at Tokyo Dome... 

 

Did y'all see that long list of credits at the end - Gift's production was off the charts. So much effort went into it - cheers to Yuzuru, Mikiko, the conductor, musical director, and everyone who had a hand in it. They can all be proud of the final product 

 

Here's hoping that one day, behind-the-scenes/making of footages would be released - with the whole show included. I'd pay top dollar for that - take my money, Yuzu!

Hi dear Satellites!  I hope you are all recovering from the aftereffects of the Gift!! 

 

Like everyone else, I have found it difficult to express all the emotions that I felt watching the Gift.  Instead, I have been immersed in reading a whole new wave of people expressing their thoughts and emotions about the event.  

 

Here is one tweet that I found particularly poignant, precise and effective in describing the experience.  Translation below:

 

"GIFT is a creation that immerses us in the spiritual world of a wounded young man. His resurrection is nothing "cool" or special, just a process of suffering and struggle that one day brings light, and the only way to open the next door is to struggle in the darkness until you break out of your shell. That's what this work was for me. Even if you are not an athlete or an artist, there are times when you fight against your own limitations. This work is a gift to all such people, and while it is quite bitter and abstract, it also exposes the loneliness and anguish of the athletes themselves in an unabashed manner. Hi all, just got back from delayed viewing, there was an interview that was played at the intermission which wasn't at TD yesterday, was it there during live viewing? Trying to find a translation but haven't been successful, not sure if I'm searching for it wrong or if it's too new.

I like that 😂 To be honest, over the last few days I've mentally spent more time in Japan than in Poland. Making any limitations for me as a customer on the basis that my body can't teleport in a second (yet 😉) to join my spirit seems quite archaic to me in the age of globalization.

Me too. And I want to stay in this mood a little longer to cherish this one-of-a-kind experience. I congratulate myself for taking the day off for today - I wouldn't have been able to focus on work at all. Well - I’ve watched it now - amazing.  Going to need to rewatch a few times to really absorb the new stuff, but as an initial reaction, I really hope he reworks Firebird up into a longer piece when he’s sharing a show with others and doesn’t have to pace himself so carefully- that costume is too fabulous to waste.  Phantom revived - the programme that I adore despite disliking the musical itself and still a contender for my favourite costume.  Amazing staging , the chandelier, the opera house style lighting - stunning…….  Released from the straitjacket of competition for sure.

Watched delayed viewing today. An enthusiastic japanese lady fanyu beside me was rocking fast & furious in her seat back and forth (clapping away) when Yuzu was performing in his red shirt. It caused my seat to rock too, resulting me sitting up straight till the end of the program.   All of us were clapping as if we were there at TD. 

I was unable to scream inside the theatre.  Was screaming so much & loudly especially so during LMEY at TD that I got to apologize to a Jfanyu beside me. She said it was ok & she also started screaming.
