[2022] Skate Canada

I remember bunch of “Canadian experts” were mocking Yuzu for the hole incident in Beijing months ago. I wonder if they would mock their own skater's unfortunate luck too. I'm glad that she left the ice healthily.

They were very cruel to say that. And I have seen people saying that tube is Skate Canada's karma, which is also a very heartless thing to say.

It's a person's life on the ice out there.

Yes, I'm glad she left the ice in one piece too. But, would she have performed better if it was not out there? The poor thing...

Well done, TJ ladies! :clapping-smiley:

What happened to Gabby?!....did not expect 10th place after yesterday.

Happy for Rika and Rinka, looking forward to watch their performance tomorrow when re-watching the stream

She started with an absolutely stunning 3T+3T and then just fell apart. Three falls.

So this American pair skated to Seimei a few seasons back, with all the pieces in the same order as the OG Seimei, and absolutely butchered the music cuts. I’ve held a completely irrational grudge against them ever since.

Ah Riku and Ryuichi did so well in the free, they really are so good together! Gold for them, well deserved.

Glad for the J pair! They are getting better all the time... now they have to continue doing that and then deliver at ISU Championships... inspire those skaters in Japan to try pairs !

And Rinka was great today... she was a replacement, and then wins! That's the way to take advantage of your opportunities!

Ugh, that sounds truly bad, poor girl.

So, dear men, please start. I would like to catch at least some live.

So glad Rinka won the GS. I saw her performance at the Nationals last year in Saitama. It was really great with 3A.

She was a promising novice skater, but could not do well enough in the junior category due to some injuries including a knee surgery, closing of her home rink, and her rivals were strong (Wakaba, Rika, Kaori, Marin, Yuna Aoki, Yuna Shiraiwa, etc.)

She is so cute in this video. (I posted it in the Team Japan thread too after Lombardia).

I'm also really glad Rika is recovering and progressing steadily  :tumblr_inline_n18qr5lPWB1qid2nw:

anyone watching the men's free? so far I can't say I am enjoying it very much...

I like the music mix of Jimmys program, but he clearly had not enough energy for the last minute. Would like to see the step sequenz with full power.

A bunch of us are at the rink so yes. :)

This is the best I’ve seen Gogolev skate in awhile. But I think the program itself is really boring. Couldn’t tell you much about it except that he landed a bunch of jumps.

I can relate, it's hard to stay awake😅

Me neither, though I'm looking forward to Deniss' performance.

Ma's axis is quite off, but his jumps are huge

Well Lucas' skating is the easiest on the eye so far that's for sure! I enjoyed some of that performance
