Congrats to Keegan on winning Nationals! I was surprised to realise it is his first Nationals title, because he's been the top Canadian skater in the past few years.

 

 

And to Roman too, who delivered in the free skate! (Minus the second 3Lz which he doubled on the same spot he did in the SP).

He does 4S-eu-3S in the second half, he doesn't do 4T.

Moore-Towers/Marinaro skated much better than earlier in the season.

 

 

Walsh/Michaud also skated much better than earlier. I hope they will be selected to the Olympics. If J/R can't skate a clean SP and had to WD from their free skate, how could they go to Beijing and skate well there in less than 4 weeks? I think because W/M are in better form they are more reliable now even though overall they had a weaker season than J/R. If they go to Beijing they could get valuable experience, because J/R will likely retire by 2026 and W/M could be Canada's top1 pair.

I'm  happy for Roman, but of course also congratulations to Keegan. I think both will be selected for the Olympic team.  It's only morning in Canada, maybe we can expect the announcement in a few hours? 

 

 

Keegan will be 30 in a few weeks. Of course it's a long time in Figure skating. But I hope he stays for another year.

I'm sorry to hear this.  Also Matthew Markell tested positive before Nationals and got back on the ice a week and a half ago.

Excited for Keegan and Roman, especially because it's becoming apparent that this Olympics could go any which way between all the COVID issues.

One thing for sure: the middle of a pandemic crisis where the whole world is upside down is no time to be making major life decisions...put them off until later if you can because who knows what will happen.
