talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, unique, never done before

Hello from the Iceberg Arena! 😊

Yesterday I liked Kadyrova/Balchenko and Pavliuchenko/Khodkyin a lot. 😍 Mishina/Galliamov had very good practices but the 3S didn't work out for her in the competition. I felt they were held up by PCS yesterday, they are the No. 1 Russian team, reigning World champions so obviously the federation tries to help them even other pairs skated better than them. I think they are technically great but don't have as much personality on the ice as P/K or even K/B. They will probably win the free skate anyway. Yesterday I talked to someone who lives in Russia and she told me everyone associates the Time, Forward music with the news in Russia because so many Russians are confused why they decided to choose this music. The music change towards the end of the program is a bit abrupt...

I watched ice dance as well, S/K are clearly above others in this field, though I think Sinitsina is better than Katsalapov, they were again out of sync in the twizzles, too.

It's crazy that Davis/Smolkin would have been second here with their scores they got in Warsaw. 😯

Are you enjoying your time in Sochi?  It looks a fabulous rink and I'm so sorry to see it not full to the rafters.  Brilliant that so many have done banners in support of Yuzu.

Mishina/Galliamov are not in sync today and frankly rather slow across the ice with some scratchy landings. Then again, all the Russian pairs I have seen today lack the speed and flow that Riku/Ryuichi have.

To hear Mark's praise for them, meh

P/K Swan Lake works only if you focus on P and not on K. He is really rough and doesn't have lines and carriage for ballet program. Still better than B/K SP.

I like the city, I even traveled to Bolshoi Sochi which is located in the north, from a 30 minute train ride from Adler/Olympic park where the competition takes place. The Olympic park is beautiful and Iceberg Arena is spectacular.

There were some good skates that I was happy to see here, and I met some friends and talked to them a lot, most of the time about Yuzu. Which was good because I don't really have the opportunity to talk about Yuzu with other people when I'm not at a competition. Seeing all the banners and messages to Yuzu was the highlight. Even today during ID and pairs there were many signs showing 'Get well soon Yuzu'.

So these are the things I enjoyed a lot. 😊

Today I liked P/K and K/B a lot, especially K/B's free skate. I think it's my favourite FS so far this season.

Sinitsina/Katsalapov made a major mistake but they still won comfortably.

Guignard/Fabbri's FD was great, I felt they were a bit underscored. H/K's Led Zeppelin FD is better live than on TV...

FB/S's free dance choice is a miss, I didn't like it.

Overall I liked pairs more than ID.
