Beat Nathan by 1.3 pts

Vincent starting strong

Vincent already passing Shoma's tech score.

He is really ON! tonight

Okay, I'm not even going to complain about his scores...Vincent delivered and he deserved that win.

Vincent has improved so much!

I think he is 2017 world junior champion

And Shoma gets silver. Good for him! He is out of the slump now and can start preparing properly for the Olympics.

I was tuning the commentator out by then, sorry.

Have to watch the last 3 skates on small ipad screen while having family lunch :p

Whoa, Vincent is really on form here. I can't tell if he's full rotated but I do enjoy his skates here this time.

And congrats to Shoma for Silver.

But Nathan topping PCS? erm...

So, who is more under pressure for the next competition now, Vincent or Nathan?

All I  can say is, Shoma has now beaten both Yuzu and Nathan, not many have that under their belt.

Despite all our gloom and doom predictions all summer long, it does look like the Olympic win is not a foregone conclusion after all, folks. And suddenly I'm interested in the Olympics again.

Oh I can’t look at the PCS anymore. It’s suffering what behavioral scientists call “confirmation bias”.

Bye folks, I'm off to watch a performance with good music, beautiful costume, great spins, great stsq, great jumps, incomparable Axels, good choreography, amazing details, phenomenal interpretation and unique presence on the ice. I certainly forgot something. See you later!

Okay, this was a lesson. 5 quads watered down programs is not the great unattainable legacy one would think it is. We just saw Vincent and Shoma doing it in one competition. But what is really glaring was the mediocre quality of the jumps by all the top three medalists. Sacrificing quality for the quantity is definitely the trend now.
