Hello

Last year at Autumn Classics Montreal I reserved the ticket online in the website of Skate Canada, in part because my Japanese friend wanted to make sure we get the tickets. But you don't need to, and they prepare in advance our tickets, when we came to collect our tickets, we pay with credit card. It is really a friendly place, no research on the bag, no question about whether you bring in water bottle or food. Anyway, you don't need to bring in food. There are lots of good restaurants, healthy meals, salads or burgers prepared on the spot to your orders. Friendly price too. We can watch the whole day if you want, go out for lunch and come back, as long as you wear the wristband. There is price also for each and every day too, if you don't want to stay for 3 days.

For last year, I think the ticket costed 80 $ Canadian for all 3 days practice and competitions, or for each day:

- First day is for practices for all 4 competitions, men, ladies, pairs and ice dance. Cost: 10$ Canadian, or 7$US,

- Second day is all 4 short programs, cost: 30$ Canadian, or 20$ US

- Third day is all free programs and victory ceremonies, cost: 40$ Canadian or 30$US.

Think about you can follow Yuzuru in every step, when he practiced, when he skated in competition, with your own eyes, with carema, video, cell phone, iPad.

Even you can see him for haft an hour or more in the meeting room with all 4 see-through glass walls.

I was so surprised to see him inside this room, at about 3 feet from me. And it was the crowd of fans in front of the glass room which made me notice his presence there. I think Yuzuru is a little surprised and embarrassed too. He laught. We saw him with his entourage including his mother, but no coach Brian in there.

I think that those laid back manners only happen in Canada. The organization around the competition is very laid back, they provided a space for the journalists at the last minute.

Thank you so much for the info. Hope to see everyone there!

"My family and I are alright..."

What I heard from the phone was such a weak voice that

I had never heard before from Hanyu, said Mr.Shoichiro

Tsuzuki (76) who was an exclusive instructor at KSR

(Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama City) and could get in touch

with Yuzuru Hanyu (Now, 19) when already 3 days passed

after the East Japan Earthquake (March 11, 2011).

I was told, "The battery is gonna run out.", and not even a

minute, the phone was like hung up. "They were safe and

that was great but they were facing time of trouble which

one could never ever imagine.", said Mr.Tsuzuki about the

seriousness of the situation.

Next contact was about 2 weeks later at the end of March,

2011. It was a phone call from Hanyu's Mom asking me,

"Is it possible to have Yuzuru training there?".

I promptly replied,"Just come here right away!".

" How can I let him lose his future!".

I said with a sense of impending crisis.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>To the Rink with FEAR<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Mr.Tsuzuki who also an athlete himself became an instructor

after his graduation from a university. He was the person who

brought up Japan's first medalist(bronze), Mr.Minoru Sano at

WFC in Tokyo (1977).

15 years ago, 4 year-old Hanyu followed his elder sister(8) to

the skating rink at Izumi Ward, Sendai City (Now,"ICE RINK

SENDAI"). And that was the beginning of my instruction for

Hanyu when I was a manger there at that time.

"I wanna be a baseball player."

In the early days, he didn't really have any interest in skating

at all. His practice didn't even last for 5 minutes.

However, I found out that in addition to his physical ability

as well as flexibility, in his movement apart from the choreo-

graphy which I taught him, there was an expression which

was just rare to get it done as naturally as like that.

Moreover, with the strength of his unyielding spirit, I was

confident that he was a boy who definitely had sensitivity

of figure skating and he could be No.1 in the world !

His first performance was the one of his most favorite

character,"Ultraman" at that time. That was Mr.Tsuzuki's

determination to draw his attention to figure skating.

His instruction for him had been continuing for more than

10 years till Grade 9 at school.

After Hanyu left Mr.Tsuzuki, one year later, the East Japan

Earthquake occurred. And then around the end of March,

2011, when I met Hanyu again at the rink in Yokohama,

he lost his muscle so much that his body looked much

smaller than before.

Looking at him trying his best to stand up with the FEAR

at the rink, you can imagine how much damage he has

got for his mental state.

When there came the aftershocks on the ice, there was

also the days when he didn't come back after rushing out

of the rink before anyone else....

I questioned to his parents,"Is it alright to continue skating

when he's still in the situation like this ?".......(This part

cannot be seen on the twitter !:drama:)........I kept supporting

him particularly in terms of mental development.

>>>>>>>>>>Bringing Back "PASSION"<<<<<<<<<<<<

Also with the supports from the others, Hanyu joined the

Earthquake Charity Ice Shows. And that, as a start, he

began to bring back bit by bit his passion toward skating.

His state of mind during that period of time was recorded

in "Aoi Hono" (Publisher: Fusosha).

"From now on when the competitions start, I don't want to

think if my results are bad, that's bc of the Earthquake.

Exactly, I don't want to lose my pride of being a

representative of victims of the Earthquake."

At the pace of once in 3 days, Hanyu traveled throughout

the Country to join the ice shows, and then back to

Yokohama. When there was no one to use the rink,i.e.

at 6 am and 8 pm, for an hour each , Hanyu threw himself

into the training.

When came the end of the off-season in October, he joined

already 60 shows ! During the shows, he performed those

difficult techniques, and as a result, his quad jumps

techniques was getting better and better.

"At any time I want everyone to see my BEST performance.

I don't want to run away from this situation."

That was what Hanyu said to Mr.Tsuzuki which made him

feel that he had no need to worry about Hanyu anymore.

March 2012, Hanyu got his first medal at WFC. After the

competition, Hanyu was bashful and said in the interview

"I think it's bc I'm in the situation of being supported that

has made me come all along the way to where I 'm now.

Now, even still a bit, I feel I can accept the supports from

people at the disaster areas."

When Hanyu was at Grade 2, Mr,Tsuzuki used to tell him,

"Flattering your wings in the world and be No. 1.".

Hanyu smiled while nodding his consent :67512117:

............(Again, words cannot be seen here !)...................

So, I was just looking over some videos from Yuzu at ACI last year- no gifts thrown on the ice? Really?? I guess they don't have a team of skaters on hand to pick them up. Was there some other way to leave him a gift?

Also, I'm thinking hard on whether or not I am brave enough to wear Pooh-ears... I WANT to, and Danibellerika was SO cute wearing them in Helsinki.

:goe:

Awww shucks, thanks :POOH: I'm more than happy to be joined by fellow fans with Pooh ears. I myself had the Pooh couple to thank from Boston! And I did in Helsinki lol. This was after he won. We spotted each other and the wife greeted me with outstretched arms and we hugged. Happy happy day, ya'll :dancingpooh:17991899_10105737479302338_1979335085858

I fear mine is outdated now though and everybody wants the ones Yuzu wore at FaOI.

Also, I for one am really glad he'll be at ACI.  Gives me a chance to nearly bookend this season when watching him compete.  I'm just happy to see him skate.
