According to the Miyagi Prefectural and Sendai Municipal governments, the festivities will kick off at 1:15 p.m. with a ceremony to present Hanyu with a prefectural citizen's honor decoration and other awards. The parade will then proceed along about 1.1 kilometers of Higashi-Nibancho-dori Avenue in Sendai's Aoba Ward, lasting around 40 minutes.

I wasn't sure either because with a new SB (the score he got at Lombardia) he could have gone into 1st place. Then he fell on the 4Lo and the realistic side of my brain knew that he wasn't going to win, but my panicky and exhausted side of my mind couldn't stop being worried because his FS seemed like ten minutes long and with 2-3 jumping passes more  (just because he put all three combos in the second half and he landed them all except for the 4T combo with minus GOE)

Then I saw his score and that Yuzuru won the gold medal and I started to cry for minutes.  It was very emotional....I felt a huge relief. The Olympic experience was more relaxing actually, the atmosphere of the competition felt calm compared to the Helsinki madness.

Actually I think Yuzuru's calculation is correct. Cos at OG, Yuzuru's SP score was 111, around 7 pts ahead of Shoma. Even if Shoma landed the 4L, those additional pts wouldnt have been enough.

Let's see, Shoma would have gotten back the 4 pts from from the GOE, 1 pt deduction for the fall, lets say he gets 1.5 extra from +ve GOE. 6.5 pts more. Not enough
Plus the usual GOE and PCS is always below Yuzuru.

At 2017 Worlds, Yuzuru's SP was only 95 so he needed an excellent score in LP which he did do.
