I wish it was him...but then he wouldn't request anonymity, Brian strikes me as a person who do not like to speak up without having his name behind them to face the consequence of his words. Also, in which interview has David said that, @KatjaThera? Because I'm definitely failing at gathering enough materials about Yuzu to sustain my thirsty cactus soul lately, and getting something I didn't see/read would be great xD Link to comment

He's publicly said similar stuff before. But I agree, I don't think Brian would speak like this, pretending to be on the outside, without inside info. And it's the TSL video interview. He didn't say it in those exact words, but I was too lazy to get the exact quote lol. I actually, like the interview, though some parts are a bit ^_^; He says he's not working with Yuzu anymore, but they keep asking about him, anyway... That sort of thing always bugs me, even though I'm happy to hear what he says. Video: It's around 10:10. Link to comment

And if you want to laugh go look up the TSL interview with Plushenko -I still snort when recalling that one, since Plush just *steamrolls* By the way, this above video really makes you trust Yuzu's team at TCC. So much details is just built into the training-this is why Yuzu can adapt layouts on the fly. He could just trust his training, because his training does sound very thorough and well thought-out. That "mindfulness" that Tracy mentions is pretty important, and what makes his and Javi's stroking stand out at ACI-they didn't look like they were just warm up stroking, but stroking with a purpose. Edit: I almost forgot. While the off season of 2016 was painful, let's not forget what they managed to accomplish in that short time period. Due to his injury, did Brian not fix his toe-loop tapping technique? That's a pretty significant accomplishment given that short period of time. So in that very short off season, they had to rebuild Yuzu's entire stamina, do new programs, and change a technique that would change pacing, rhythm , timing. And like fixing jump techniques, you start with singles and then build up to quads. But by the end of that season, what a stable 4T we had, and then Helsinki. While I'm normally doubtful of injured skaters coming back, somehow I find myself trusting this team and Yuzu. Still cautious, but more optimistic. Link to comment

I guess I have to go for that Plush interview-you don't ask for an interview with the Ice Robocop, if you want to try and manipulate his interview to your liking xD Link to comment

I love the Yuzu, Plush and Mao interview, it's quite fun lol (that part starts around 6:20) Link to comment

Pammi
We are all so hungry for news of Yuzuru's progress because we want some idea of what his chances are of success ie. achieving his dream of winning his second Olympic Gold medal. That's why I posted the Japan Times article - most of us are interested to hear what others in the sport think of this issue (even if they don't think it diplomatic to give their name!) Yuzu really deserves the gold, WE all know that, I imagine all (or most) in the figure skating community know that, deep down at least! But, as spectators, I feel we are focussed on him winning or at least medalling because we know HE wants it so much (and I know from so many posts on various media that Yuzuru's happiness is really important to us his fans and supporters).......whereas for us I think the goal is really just to SEE him skate, that's OUR gold medal. We want the experience of how Yuzuru's skating makes us FEEL, the emotion he evokes with his beauty and majesty and skill. Of course we want to see outstanding performances, he is undoubtedly capable of them health permitting, but he always skates with beauty and feeling even when he makes technical errors........so I am hoping so much that he is making progress with his health and that he will be able to show the world the beauty and emotion of his programmes and skating!............... (Oh, OK, of COURSE I want him to win Gold too!!)(pleeeaaase skating gods....) Link to comment

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1 時間前, Pamyuさんが言いました: We are all so hungry for news of Yuzuru's progress because we want some idea of what his chances are of success ie. achieving his dream of winning his second Olympic Gold medal. Far as I can tell, and am concerned, his chances for victories in competitions have always been, and will always be, 50/50. It's the same for this one, with or without the injury. Say he maintains great physical health all throughout the season, there'll just be other issues, mental ones specifically, he'll have to both work through and with, and however he performs in comps up to the Olys, there's always a 50/50 chance he'll excel...or not. Because with him, you can never really tell. After the injury and with this prolonged absence/involuntary rest, his chances remain the same, although with a different dynamic. It's now 50/50 in that even though he's never gone through this particular test before, he has mostly emerged victorious in other tests he'd never gone through before either. I'm guessing this is because when it comes to do or die, there's very little room for anything else his overactive brain might cook up so his focus becomes that much sharper. So there we go, 50/50. 1 時間前, Pamyuさんが言いました: Yuzu really deserves the gold, WE all know that, I imagine all (or most) in the figure skating community know that, deep down at least! We all don't know that, though. Like, what you said would be true if we're talking about a lifetime achievement award but the Oly gold does not symbolize that. So I think that's a tad too early to say, as the Games hasn't happened yet. When it does, the gold will go to the one whom judges think put out the best overall performance in the competiton. That would without a doubt be Hanyu if he manages clean performances. So what I think he deserves, is the chance to have clean performances on that particular stage (hopefully this time around) because those performances are really what he's been working all his life towards. kaeryth
By the way, I caught glimpses of the 2017 Kohaku Uta Gassen. Of course, it couldn't compare to 2016 because of a certain someone but there were so many Yuzu references (all in my mind, I know but I really miss him.. ) 1. A singer performed with a bunch of people playing kendama in the background (I think they were going for a world record?) 2. Hiromi Go performed 3. X Japan performed (last year when Yoshiki's bandmate saw Yuzu, he commented that he looked like a young Yoshiki) 4. Hoshino Gen performed (not the Koi Dance though... boooooo!) 5. The final performers for the white team was a band named "Yuzu" Link to comment
