This injury does come with a few blessings in disguise (although I wouldn't go as far as to say it is a blessing in disguise as a whole.) Reduced pressure on Yuzu, forcing him to rest and re-preak... Hmm Yuzu is probably still gunning for gold, just bc he is Yuzu, but we have no idea about his condition so it's really premature to speculate on what layout Yuzu will go for I just hope that Yuzu had some time to step back (and see how his competitors have been doing in his absence) to realize he doesn't need 5 quads or the 4Lz to win gold.

Thanks for the tables @Xen! He’s really maxing out. I guess it gets exponentially harder to reach perfect TES as you get closer to it. I wonder if reaching near 100% with TES is possible as it is with PCS

Oh the way you said it made it sound like he was already jumping quads but just not consistently Well true, he might have been back on ice around nats but nowhere near jumping condition eta: So @ainjxx, basically the 4-6 weeks were needed to recover enough to carefully step back on the ice rather than regaining his form and being able to train 100%. Sigh.

A week or so before nats we were told Yuzu still felt pain and wasn’t even back on ice and... was it around a week after nats or was it along with the WD announcement? (I am forgetful) we were told that Yuzu is back in the ice but only carefully working with his uninjured ankle. So he didn’t withdraw from nats bc his quads weren’t back in full force, he withdrew bc he hasn’t been on the ice, at all
