I am certainly not ready and I am not going to let the season begin for me before Yuzu hasn't competed!!! (let's try not to think too much abt the symbolism) It's the same for me actually but the last time I there was a comp in the middle of my finals my results were extraordinarily good so I am not too worried abt that!!

I'm so happy for everyone who will be able to see Yuzu soon!!! And I'm starting to get really nervous... Guys, we have only 3 months left until the olympic season begins (for us)

Oh interesting! I guess bending the knees help in keeping the edge I'm starting to wonder if me being X-legged makes outside edges so difficult for me

Meanwhile, Yuzu looks divine even when just doing crossovers Actually, crossovers are much harder than I thought they would be I can't seem to be able to keep my outside edge long enough when skating backwards

@Floria impressive that you learned the jumps yourself! On a few occasions I just tried to "hop" while skating and I barely left the ice So I've been trying to gain some leg strength off-ice!

hahah same! Everyone seems to know each other and it's so difficult to get in between. I only once mustered the courage to ask this one person a question (he taught me wrong, but that's another issue) but it made me so nervous! Seems like most people at my rink come from a hockey background tho only few do spins and such (there's only one person doing jumps at all)

Uhhh sorry to hear you've been injured! Are you self-taught or do you take classes? Do you jump? There is this one man at our rink who works there but he also comes out to skate. He's well over 50 but does double jumps! Apparently he started skating at 27 and encourages me alot. Thankfully he helps me alot with fixing my technique, otherwise I'd be very lost

Having the rink for yourself is amazing, tho! I only once went to the rink during rgeular hours when there were less people and it was a whole new world! Towards the end the kids were gone and I was flying around!! even though my boots were starting to hurt me! I think I skated close to 3 hours that day lol

There's only one skating rink in my city and unfortunately it closes in the summer. Haven't been skating since March now and I really miss it. I used to go once a week (during the weekly student discount hours which means the rink was always packed. Regular hours are too expensive ) I don't really have the resources to take classes so I just ask the people at the rink to teach me stuff or correct my technique LOL I started skating regularily in January so I only skated 3 months in total. I barely managed to learn backwards crossovers but towards the end of the season I started learning some turns and tricks. But just doing some crossovers is so much fun especially getting really fast (and potentially landing on my bum lol) is one of the best feelings ever. Can't wait til it's October so I can start skating again

excuse me, what is a pure forum in your understanding? The purpose of this forum is to give fans a platform to discuss their favorite skater and FS. Being a "pure forum" (whatever that means) was never our intention.

The whole subforum will also act like an archive for competitions. They don't have to happen all at the same time.
