  1. okay, I messed up, for me it starts at 2a.m, alas, my inner thin girl will submerge in the chocolate anyway. Just noticed that even with six skaters' SP taking about 45-50minutes, it still means I will be up till at least 7a.m...the stuff you do for skating...I probably should focus on learning for exams now so that after 9th only short revisions will be left... Informations on Yuzu condition has to be marked with spoiler alers in news. When will your fave tbh xD On a sidenote, this draught will take no more than twenty seconds screen time on our hypothetical Yuzu biography, won't it? Unless they prolong it by the sequence of all the birthday fan projects making...
  2. Okay, Fanyus/Yuzu Fans coping system is too good to be true
  3. sad, but true. Now I wonder, who's behind the wheel...
  4. We'll turn into sponges and heroically save the planet with our own bodies! kill my imagination pls. I'm joining you two, with advantage of no weight changes even after entirely too much chocolate! How???Aren't you in my timezone? Are we going to die in together in the middle of the night? I just warned my roommate that she's not going to sleep peacefully in February... Is the teacher a native? If they are, and Yuzu and/or Shoma place as predicted, you shouldn't worry AT ALL (unless it's a bit different than with baseball, I remember sensei discussing effects of latest baseball game with only two boys in our class, that thankfully were also interested in it, when his favorite team played, or something...) sugar comes in many versions...dried fruits? they're chewy so additional bonus of relaxing motion... or citruses that need peeling (who mentioned tangerines?) fried sunflower seeds? I don't like the taste but my mom says it does remind her of pumpkin seeds while not being them entirely... sugar, and pooh, and strong tea, and at least SOME snacks (something crunchy? It is supposed to help with the ringing in your ears when you're nervous...or is that only me?) Just checked the dates and I'M BLESSED I TELL YOU. Individual men's event start the night after my final test (now only not to fail it...latin is hard Can wwe make a support thread for those in the exam period during PyeongChang?), Team Events happen just after and before one of them (now, to hope I don't have to retake anything in the meantime...) Mickey sweatdropped at Javier's hotel room bed, while sensing that somewhere, on the other side of the globe, his co-support tissue cover Pooh smirked in satisfaction, purring at the hand petting him. I wonder what wil be worse-sitting on the corridor just outside my room, bc that's where wifi still connects, or try to constrain any squeals I might want to make in my bed, with my sleeping roommate like two metres away (we're in better situation than most exchange students actually, normally it's barely a meter between the beds..) Aaaand, I forgot to put that under spoiler, so I guess this post is now officially another page...
  5. I quote vboth of you mostly as a border marks- I ended up liking all of the post that came between these two Maybe it's the matter of meeting face to face with the content? A la mentioned Yuzu's Pooh and Yuzu's murderface xD I know that my mother looked down on both male gymnasts and male figure skaters because when she was interested in FS and gymnastics, the common was to watch Ladies and ice dance mostly, since the men's were considered a competition so that male didn't have to complain about sports inequality, sorry I've read too much Singer jump competition. She changed her mind after I've shown her Yuzu (even though I might have to get deeper into gymnastics to convince her about this one as well). Plus, she still laughs at MOBA and the whole term of E-sports, but mostly because my brother can't explain it without getting angry at her for not understanding his passion. Probably Honestly, maybe I'm just shocked because my field of study makes me appreciate any kind of mention, and ability of a non-popculture persona get mention in a popculture, in a positive light, no less(anybody can do something stupid and get parodied), is just something worth of a notice. Ability to catch attention of popculture recievers means that this person has a charismatic image and as such, the thing they are involved in has a bigger chance for succes/sustaining its popularity (and as such, sales) even if being from the so called niche. Objectively speaking, he does wear clothes that make you see a cute boy...until you look at all those muscles. And then on the ice, people are blinded by sparkles and only see a replica of Johnny Weir...until they see all the quads... So, objectively speaking, even if you trust only your eyes, Yuzuru Hanyu is just something else xD
  6. I havn't really read the article yet, so I might be wrong, but why would popculture of the country native to athlete lower professional perception of article? Aside of the fact it wasn't connected to him, unless we count his Sochi Gold as the incentive for producers to hope that another skating anime might be interesting, a la Asada-Arakawa pre-Turin situation for Ginban Kaleidoscope.
  7. Good thing it doesn't mean we won't get the influx of photos of Yuzu. If we're lucky, some of the managers/coaches might end up uploading snippets from practice...
  8. Yep, Olys practice for men (?) is on the Feb 1st, it's around that time most of the athletes competing in the first days of the Olys will already be in Korea... (remember that TE starts on 9th or something like that) so we will actually probably get airport pictures of Yuzu before then, provided he doesn't turn ninja-mode there as well actually probably next to each other...wonderful, Ao...
  9. I just remember that older fans had B***n aftermatch to survive and I feel like I don't deserve to whine about this off-season - I mean, I KNOW he's coming back, and going to compete soon, I even know when!
  10. Which only mean they HAVE them, not necessarily use them...sigh at least not all the time...the Data Man well, datas, seem plausible. Also, Taka Tatsuki, seriously, talking that with Yuzuru in the same room? SERIOUSLY.
  11. Start coming to job/school early and use the additional time for planet, and at the same time get yourself a badge of always on time student/worker...I guess it says a lot about my priorities if I suggest that instead of actual work/revision...
  12. Don't you even... I wish he wrote about psychological aspect of skating (okay, and psychological preparation for each jump, including the one you were popping the whole season), with his insight it would actually be SUPER interesting, plus it might help in progressing this part of skaters' training and hopefully help other skaters speak up about their issues/start actually working towards resolving them...yeah, wishful thinking, it will be about the perfect performance and where to find it. bc they can show off their muscles-have you seen Uchimura's arms? That's manly. Not that noodly World Champion jumping at the speed of 300rpm, and your only muscle showing guy is gay so the sport is gay, end of story *cringe* Also, amazing part of the FS is that since ISU doesn't do nearly enough in that aspect, the community takes the matter in their own hands and produce some almost scarily professional datas... and I'm not talking about universities. We've already had that talk, do NOT let space kitty into reduced gravity if you want him to land back on Earth... one day. .
  13. So Shoma would be Patrick after rule change in 2010? Nathan then would be...Javier after his first year with Brian? sorry for simplyfying like that And tbh, I still find Boyang to be the slower version of what Yuzu was in his pre-Sochi era (slower, as in, slower developing, I don't know about on ice stuff xD or maybe with different strong points? Yuzuru was the Axel+flexibility+splat on steps kid, while Boyang is the LUTZ+not getting level on steps+weirdly fitting A-spin kid to me?) open Planet before checking the hour every morning (if there is no/small news and explosion afterwards isn't very big, it's actually enough to keep with Gen Thread. Catching up on all others, tho...)
  14. OT, but, can Chinese/Chinese knowing fans take a look at this and tell em about what is that song? Because beginning sounds like something I'd love, especially connected with Yuzu (Sometimes I wish I have learned all the languages, just so that I can hear the words rather than imagine myself it's just separate syllabes [yes, my brain produced that thought just today and I'm ashamed of myself] as it is, I get distracted by singing here than actually enjoy it, and it's only my own brain's fault) (and the mad is so well done, TOO)
  15. I do think that the flexibility is an issue with those grown out muscles...if you look at ladies biellmans you actually can notice small folds of fats at the joint of their raised leg and bottom (or close to the line of their costume material). Fat is softer (which makes it actually harder to rotate- that's why the well boiled egg will rotate quicker than the not boiled egg, sorry for my culinary digression xD) , so it's also easier to move it under your skin, as gross as it sounds, while if you were able to do this to your muscles, you would be risking high (er than it already is) probability of joint damage With our previous talk on Yuzuru being basically 97-98% meat and bones, I don't think he simply has enough fat to cushion the extension (because that also is part of the fat near hips' job), and actually, the thing he does now with his leg release is actually pretty astounding in itself- he compensates for the lack of fat-provided flexibility with the reach of his limbs and twist of his body, all this on one (!) skate, without losing control of the spin. That being said, it's also the reason why you either have stabile jumps OR flexible spins-unless you're Yuzuru, who finds a way around/above ANY obstacle in the way of his perfect skate (I mean, his donut is basically a math work made to look effortless, but it wouldn't be actually possible for anybody with even slightly shorter limbs-he uses their length to lessen the unnaturality of the angle his joints have to set themselves into. He takes the importance off of the flexibility by using his natural body assets) Ahem, this concludes my Ode to Hanyu knowing his body and actually playing with the cards it gives to him. A poker, against the natural physics.
  16. This commenter assumes that the Chukyo professor friggin kidnapped Shoma and Yuzuru and made them jump quads in the perfectly isolated system with no friction, a.s.o. That's enough for me to go 'Lol nope' Brian. Putting my rant in the spoiler, bc it should make way to actual counterarguments provided bu @meoima and the rest of the field. Also, how come this is my sixth post as 3A, and only now do I notice that... On a sidenote, while I do believe Yuzuru, with his alien blood and all, would be able to jump a quad in space/black hole just through the power of sheer stubborness*flashbacks to Yuzuru's 4S!Shooting stars meme*, I'd rather Shoma NOT try this. Quads are dangerous enough on the ice.
  17. Somebody make a Mr Triple Axel transformation animation, Brian will need superpowers to manage all of it! The fact he's my height and three kilos lighter (when all of me is definitely not muscle, lol)... One program even lised it as 1% and I remember half of the comments below were mostly 'OMG Yuzu add some fat, or you dieeee T.T' (I...don't think it is phusically possible to lower your fat percentage THAT much? Even runners have it above 1, I think...) It's actually the exact way on how to remember something, one of my teachers even called it anchor-effect if I remember correctly... Anyway, you connect abstract knowledge of your studies with some kind of practical use/your passion in Yuzu's case and thus connection is made. It's the same for the colorful notes we were talking about previously-you connect the knowledge you've written down with the pleasant/amusing thing, like choosing the color/the color itself, and thus that information is now connected with that color in your brain (though sometimes it ends up being "I remember I wrote answer to that in this color...but what the heck did I wrote???" ). I've seen somewhere that the day before the exam he had food poisoning, then on the next day took the exam, 'cuz why not?Okay, now I agree with you he's an alien.
  18. I wouldn't even be surprised tbh. Remember, this is a woman who singlehandedly maintained both the kid and his wardrobe choices till he was 15 (while possibly not neglecting her other child!), then survived earthquake, and raised from it with her family intact, only to have said family split for the sake of moving to the other side of the globe, so that her youngest can spread his wings comfortably. All this, while managing his diet and health-related issues (which is pain in the rear when you do it for yourself and I'm not even asthmatic), and keeping him away from slacking off on his studies and other responsibilities...and now apparently she is still his only manager. All hail Yuzu-mama, indeed. On a sidenote, Olympic channel released (almost funnily uneducated) vid on the FS and its' people to look out for at PC, and guess who's still the favorite (and first featured competitor)? You guessed it right, yours truly:
  19. Guys please Don't give me ideas for characterization of effing LETTERS (okay, syllabes, actually. whatever) Spread Eagle is the only paper I seem to be reading regularly.
  20. My family says that I'm learning how to draw different bushes (as in, green, leafy type of bushes)...so for me it was bush-impaired
  21. I unfortunately have to disagree, even if we meander into territory of psychology rather than actual skating. The toxic/hurtful/angry feelings stood out more to a human brain than the pleasant/happy/relaxed, because while the latter says 'All's clear mate!' the former says 'Storm incoming, something's wrong!' and as such, get more reaction. By that human nature, obviously hurtful/angry/cursing/whichever-else-negative-reaction-invoking comment will get more attention than the bucket of positive/feedbacking messages. And if it can somehow be connected with your unfave, all the better since to the need to react to the negative emotion adds up the mean part of human that wants to rub salt into disliked people's wounds... ...Unless you're at Planet Hanyu's main threads, where the gravity and everything works opposite and paprikas are calmly overlooked in favor of honey and spread eagles and sparkles in the Overlord new costume. Also, people attacking skaters without any actual back up in logic/reality...actually scratch that. People attacking hard working skaters instead of being neutral/giving productive feedback shouldn't be called anybody's fans.
  22. I thought that they say "Can [Yuzuru Hnyu] jump quints?" but my reaction was basically the same... stahp him He still need to give us that 4A perfection, no matter what ANA articles are saying xD
  23. <-Only he can shut me up as well as he can do with Brian! Also the program after 3-hour special (GPSeries in review? Smh like that) starts of with CoR Chopin and SEIMEI, if anybody is interested! And effing Sword Art Online Soundtrack as a bgm for Skate Canada-how fitting is that xD
  24. I'm amazed at how we're all floating balls of relief even though Brian REALLY has said nothing Oh well, the power of drought! Just dropping by to say that we have exactly two weeks and a day till the first scheduled practice for MEn in PC?
