  1. Kanji hunt! Jisho offers you search by radical, or if you feel comfortable writing with your mouse, shape reader (It read my 9 correctly, and I always was behind in calligraphy, so it's got to be quite intuitive, lol). Brian's book translation, and Tracy's new book, and...ok, let's make that TCC book on raising skaters to glory, so that we do not look like we are obsessed as much as w really are. If you don't mind me hunting for kanjis with correct radicals 80% of my translating time, I'm in. Once I return to work and can afford the shipping that's it T.T Nope you're not, I want to have the power to be like Tracy when I have two sons, and then next three adopted skating sons... We know, but look at Hydro's title now
  2. I have flashbacks to a 'I'll make a man out of you' from Mulan for some reason That or crouching tiger hidden dragon (Imagine if he randomly changed his ex for that :D) You mean in sparkly firework so Adam again has to go out and pick up stuff off the ice? Not the eerie Pooh tornado/avalanche/whatever else? WRITE THIS PLS. This would be the crack of all cracks, the father in despair thinking about his oldest laidback son, middle crazy son, and youngest slowly following the middle's lead into quadsanity...
  3. Since I still don't have my own place, I would stay by the toesocks. I had a pair once, and I remember feeling pretty nice in them... Look where are we at now...talking socks...
  4. Being Yuzu's DoM has to be hard... good thing he's such a walking smile. Ima cry with you. Also, so that was what this second kanji set meant! I will never remember the official wrods like federation or company...
  5. Dance of the Curse from Escaflowne! Even quality crossovers would work with that, plus the length would be just about fine for the short (ok, a bit too long...). For Yuzu I'd love to see him changing "Butterfly" from Durarara's ending into an ice masterpiece, but I guess Jazz would fit more, since he says he enjoyed it...
  6. Of course we extend it to movies as well! Half of JOe Hisaishi tones I have in my head are form Spirited away! Pluz Elizabeth Tursynbaeva kind of made my wish to see a Mononoke program come true but I wish it was a bit more connected... If we're speaking Ghost in the Shell, what about Yoko Kanno's pieces for that production? I'm not in the FS this long to just hear the song and imagine a program skated to it, but some of her and Origa collabs have this feel like you just want to put a good spin/quad here and there xD
  7. Instead to adding to constructive discussion, can I just say that this ^^^up here is basically the perfect description of Yuzuru and his OGM situation?I don't know, I'm just every time I see this.
  8. Better not... you know FS community in Toronto is stronger than ever during Olys, esp. since I saw article about Battle of Brians being published just this year on CBC I think? So, maybe a bus tour, where he won't be recognized by the billion kids not being polite enough to pretend they do not recognize him a'la that public rink vid from Japan in 2013 I think? Here goes my tea...good thing I've read the description (and that Yuzu is so particular about his costumes- imagine reading that and seeing one of the twelwe Patrick's costume-sweaters, it would be much harder to discover which year is it from...) No problem! I constantly hunt for gems like this, and we all are Poohs in need of our Overlord healthy performance, so I'm glad to be bringing even this little help...(bonus is that the creators get additional views, like they properly deserve!)
  9. As a person who remembers Sota only from his Kamen Rider debut, I can only say that the body type would fit,(long and lean) unless Sota also grew in muscles... Ugh, guys we might as well create our own dream cast and when they finally announce the biography, just forward it to them xD
  10. Just dropping by to help I think @WinForPooh and anybody else drying out in wait for new Yuzuru axels- this vid starts with almost half a minute of Axels from across different competition programs of Yuzu. You're welcome.
  11. Actually I was about to post my random weird question of the week regarding that- If ISU lost his mind completely decided to take up controversial tactics against warhorses, and ordered that from now on, only anime-related music was available to choose from, what kind of songs/soundtracks would cut it in you guys' opinion, aside of the obvious YoI references? I really hope Akiko Shikata would make cut. Either way, Kevin Reynolds would be in heaven. Also, sorry if this sounds like I assume everybody here watch anime, I just have seen very little of composers related with that genre being proposed here, excluding Joe Hisaishi of course...
  12. Turned his time machine and Phil Hersh from the time Yuzu was 'Young, utstanding, fresh' rising star hacked the 'he's past his glory time' Phil Hersh, maybe? Also, agreed with Forcefield on the topic on putting stuff under spoiler Also, I've checked off enough points on @Fay's translation of that psychologist's Champion Criteria to award Yuzu +3 GOE-is that enough I wonder?
  13. It's true, if you look at the consistency, and compare it to the consistency of 3A - btw, found the group number he mentions in Keiji no Heya- the one where he had to jump 2A and he himself admits he had few veeeeery risky landings on it xD It's in SoI'14 It's not that he can't, to answer your question, it's just it refuses to be small enough for Yuzu not to rotate more, and that makes it hard for him, as his inborn instinct is to get into tight rotating position asap, and with 2A and his power, he should actually maintain a lose stance (I remember one TV show [kiritoru?] has shown a piece of his talk with Mao, where they compared the techniques behind 3A and 2A, and they said something about having to jump more flat-forward for 2A). When you try to adjust your position mid air, you lose your balance, blah, blah, risky landing ready. I think Kenji no Heya ep.3(??Or two, I do not remember the number) has him explaining it the best
  14. S, I'm not the only one who wants a 'Program with only your best jump" competition, where Yuzu goes all-Axel (another 3A-3A-3A combo maybe?) and blows everybody out of the water... heck, he could freaking adapt a tribute to the Axel the Swan ex into a competitive all axel jumps program and probably set the highest score possible. Or I have an Idea- a reverse Zayak rule: you can only use the jumps of one type, across all rotations (Yuzuru 1A and 3A would rule the world) Considering it is the easiest jump in his layout according to the BV, there is nothing special happening, just usual Hanyu jump-out-of-the-hat magic... I was late to the work and my coworkers were looking at me weirdly even after we did settled and opened... I must have grown additional pair of wings or something Sightsee at day, wake up in the middle of the night to watch Yuzu. This is going to be soo interesting... Very good priorities! I hope my roommate won't kill me for watching stuff at like 2 in the morning.... Oh...god xD murder face all way on, the Japanese something falling behind Javi in K&C, and then the additional pause after announcer says Yuzu's name just so the cheers could pass xD Good times, the ACL short...
  15. Umm, lemme clear this up-you're ruling Yuzuru-I-got-a-split-chin-and-head-and-finished-second-and-first-with-open-wound-in-a-stomach-oh-and-third-on-an-ankle-busted-the-day-before-competition Hanyu out of medalling chances because of an ankle injury he sustained three months before the competition? I mean, yes, he's not a teen anymore, but realistically-as in, Hanyustically -speaking, unless there is another earthquake *knocks on all woods in the room* during or just days before the competition, I will not rule Yuzu out of the top 3. Regardless of nerves, the not-favorite status, literally anything. Sorry if I sound sharp, but I just feel like during that he's-not-consistent! drama, where everybody forgot that since RJ1 season, he's been outside the podium grand total 2 times, when he competed, and outside of top4 grand total of zero times, pressure or no pressure and injury or not. (which equals to literally seven[!!!]seasons, each +/-5 comps, which equals 7*5-2=33medals in the span of his Senior career, +1 for the first 4CC silver makes it +/-34-let these numbers calm your nerves) In Hanyu we shall trust, is that how it goes? Also, declaring yoursef his biggest fan here...granted, half the population withered, but that's still risky title nonetheless, unless you're sharing
  16. I'm going to be death tired during the February, I guess...gotta stock on sweets since alcohol has the reverse effect on me. I hope I won't wake up my roommate by then... From one of the bold titles, they select the six athletes that can potentially get gold? Yuzuru is one of them, some speed skater (flag bearer?) is the other...
  17. Keiji replaces him in that role for this season but who knows, maybe he manages to peer-pressure Yuzu into it...I can't believe I'm HOPING for peer pressure, lol me
  18. You think you have that Curry-Yuzu article somewhere? I've heard so many comparisions between the two, but there is little footage of Curry's era so I'm at the mercy of written sources... I can't wait for your typical Japanese narrative and usage of awesome songs kind of dramatically unfitting to the scenes playing on the screen I guess it will be mostly old footage for people not following FS that closely, but maybe we will get a sneakpeak or something of the current Yuzu (or December Yuzu, let's not be picky) too! I'm failing at being positive but not demanding Fanyu sooo much... And they will have to, if they have kids! Pooh is another visionary aspect of Yuzu career, he drags young minds into his sport without any violence! Yes, my brain seems to get a bit funny... Just like fire! So many good MADs coming to my mind right now xD
  19. At least you have something! I think the last time I saw Figure Skating in Polish media was when Kaliszek/Spodyriew became the founders of a foxtrot pattern or something like that, right after finishing 15th in Boston I think-the highest Polish competitor/team finished in ages. Even with PC closing on, most we hear of is ski jumping, with a reason, but come on! They did secure the spot for PC though...
  20. I just remembered an inbteresting thing- when I started running to correct my (nonexistent) condition, I ended up noticing difference by the end of second week of a day of running-day of rest schedule, and I'm not by any means an athlete with proffesional staff behind me and years of muscle memory to rely on. If we assume that Japanese/space-kitty powers of persistence fused with the power of professional staff and good training background+rehab, we might assume he is noticing difference in half that time, and that would mean since at least one week. Of course I didn't gain the stamina to do effing 5 quads program, but I also think that if he is already on the ice stamina is already going up (I'm sure somebody once said the skating excersises aren't too easy). So, to be honest, I'm positive his stamina will be in competition shape, however strange my wording seems It's the matter of the other stuff and on one hand I wish Olys started tommorrow so we can have the stress behind ourselves, on the other hand I feel like it's waaaaaaay too quick for our fragile hearts and Poohs If we can see that, I wonder what his space-kitten eyes see... Trust the paper to ruin good title!
  21. I hope 4Lo is enough upgrade for him tbh...I can't imagine ANYBODY, not even Yuzu, having short enough preparation time for 4Lz to fit within Chopin's choreo. Then again, Yuzu is king of impossible, so he could surprise me, and spread-eagle sandwiched Lutz would be a thing of utter beauty. Thanks for scaring living daylights out of me, it means I have about 21 days to wrap up my exams bc I doubt I will manage to do anything during PC... AND he still skated it in a state human being would not even risk steppin on the ice- wound on the stomach is scary enough on the ground... I DO hope he will take a page out of his younger self in the aspect you mentioned. Ok, at this moment I will take anything, and it doesn't help I have a presentation about the novel called "Gloria Victis" this Friday... (at least not in February!) Canadians have strong almost everything, if their Men don't fail them, or Osmond/Gabby/that third girl that goes to Olys will not meltdown. America has Men and Ice Dance, but Pairs and Ladies are ??? in my head, so do they count on inflation there, or do their competitors have chance to...okay, what the hell I am thinking about, it IS Canada and America, not a chance they do not qualify. Russia or Athletes from Russia are allowed to skate in the Team, right?
  22. The good ol' Fred and his 'I wont go clean unless you upgrade me' huh?
  23. That's the reason why Nats scoring do not count towards records (just for the measure, I believe that even if they did, Yuzu would still be the first to break the 100 barrier in the short, as he did get that ridiculously high by that-time standards score back in 2013 Nats) Also, as somebody pointed out, I honestly don't care where he stands on the podium, as long as this place is result of two clean skates, because EVERYBODY will know who was the real winner. However, you don't have to imagine Yuzu anywhere else than there, it's the privilege of our imagination that it IS OURS and so, everything that happens in there, happens as we wish it to happen Last thing you need to remember, he won GPF'15 over probably the cleanest men field we have seen in this quad, an the records setted back there are either unbeatable (total...) or broken by exactly one person, and we all like this person enough to accept WR from him (even if the SP WR is set with no new fancy quads in the mix, mind you, and it still can be about two-and-some points higher with the same layout) xD So yeah, I'm more worried about the young guys being hyped so much they will crumble under pressure-remember, that's Nate's second Senior year and he already is pushed as somebody who can lose everything (not to mention sophomore curse a lot of people agree exist- let's exclude Yuzu, we agree he's an alien so that rule doesn't apply to him), Shoma's mindset of 'there will be no more' might either propel him forward or push him down completely, and Boyang...at this point I just hope he skates healthy in the Olys, though Miracle ronze for him a'la last two worlds isn't excluded from my imagination either (though I wish the bronze would get to Patrick as well, so that he won't have the double-silver frustration a'la Brian, but also medal in his final year...T.T) ...I wonder why is he actually the only figure skater shown in the practice, not in his costume...so popular or so charismatic you do not need usual props to get him into proper CM? It doesn't look like that to me? It looks more like a king returning to his grounds with pride and readiness to defend it, focused only on the dreams and the future so insistently mentioned in the lyrics.. I think SEIMEI's seconds after step sequence (the slow part from the bell to the Toe-lo-Sal combo in the 2.0) or it's getting-into-opening-pose choreo would fit better, as it has this calm before the storm quality. Chopin would be perfect fit tbh, but I guess they didn't have good quality cuts for it xD
  24. I guess thats our answer as to what the producers do with the lack of the photo resources from competition-take the hard guns and go with practice... Here! We really worry ourselves sick, but considering the problems Yuzu has been through each season (surprisingly or not, especially season before and season after the Olys...) it's basically anticipating the worst and getting positively surprised type of precaution
