That's within three days?!

There are rumours Ruslan Zhiganshin might be r***ng, so Elena Ilyinykh is left on her own. Seeing how they were faring, I wouldn't find that surprising.

Plushenko is an interesting case - he wanted to have that bielman, so he made his mum stretch him everyday until he got one when he was very young - but still had to give it up at 22. But his sit spin was... not so good, as far as I remember.

Мда, перспективы прекрасные... т.е. фигуристами в Израиле могут быть только иммигранты. -

Это как же Быченко с Самохиным тренируются? Вне страны? -
It was quite enlightening to learn @Fresca's opinion about Jason's and Yuzu's flexibility. To sum it up, Yuzu has a fantastic flexibility in the hips and back, whereas Jason has god a tremendous flexibility in the legs. I think we could also compare more skaters - Martinez, Kolyada, Vasilievs or whoever comes into your mind. As one example of different kinds of flexibility, I can remember Yulia Lipnitskaya who's very stretched and can raise her leg up to incredible heights. She's also very flexible in her lower back. But her turnout isn't so impressive, if I remember it right. It would be furthermore interesting to hear opinions whether flexible skaters could be good jumpers. Alexei Mishin once said about the younger Yuzuru that he often messed up his jumps because he was so flexible (worm-like, as Mishin said). Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, on the other hand, was handpicked because she had an ideal figure for good jumps. When she's on, her jumps are fantastic, but she's got to be among the least flexible skaters among women. So is Yuzu so unique in being able to combine excellent jumps and outstanding flexibility?

OK, I'll do it a little later and leave the link here for everyone interested in the topic!

@Fresca thank you for all your ideas about different kinds of flexibility - what I learnt was really interesting, I thought it might be a good idea to set up a separate thread to discuss flexibility vs jumps issue, perhaps. What do you think?

Load to Glory? LOL

Not really so far - I prefer English. But I'd love a chance of having a possibillity to check on the translation later. Can you disable Russian so far until we get to the root of the matter and see how it can be switched manually?
-
Right... I'm using Firefox, but with English configuration. And a Russian-run Yandex - which shows an English-language version anyway.
-
Weird, and I can't switch on the Russian interface to have a look how it works. Even though I'm in Russia.
-
Yuzu's more flexible in the hip area - because he has this tremendous turnout which TAT spoke about. His flexibility is innate, he's always been that, whereas Jason's got fantastic acquired flexibility.
-
I guess the difference is that Yuzu's naturally flexible in the hip area and could have kept flexibility everywhere but chose to emphasise jump prowess whereas Jason consciously did work hard on his flexibility. I remember reading that he said he wasn't naturally so flexible...

Yeah, I was trying to attach a GIF last night, but failed to. It was their side-by-side gliding which showed Yuzu was superior...

As Javi was in Spain at the moment having his own Nationals and organising his own Christmas shows, he might not have quite registered that. I wouldn't blame him for that, exactly - he's got a busy schedule, he might have just confused things. Do you always remember when your colleagues fall ill - I don't, unless I'm really close to them. And if there's a competition who mastered the art of being articulate and thoughtful and considerate and coming across as a truly intelligent person in an interview... Yuzu wins! Over everyone in the world - there's no competition there. We know that. Javi's more disappointing in comparison, but then everyone else is, anyway. My attitude towards him shifted somewhat this season after a couple of interviews (this wasn't the first). But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he meant no harm. He just never cared to learn the facts - but since Javi's never been among my favourites, I can't say I care that much.
-
He might have forgotten. He might not have been interested enough to ask. He might not have listened. Whatever. Yuzu's life is not his own.
-
If he does 4Lo too, he can.
-
Oh, I don't mind him being emotional. But I'd say he gets teary when he wins rather than when he loses. :)
-
Oh come on, Yuzu's not that much of a cry baby - I don't remember him crying at 4CC. I think on the whole Javi was way too preoccupied in late December what with his Nationals, his show and maybe personal life to suss out that Yuzu was ill and missed his Nationals as Yuzu was in Japan at the time. But yeah, it proves beyond doubt that these two are not really that close - which is OK by me. They might like and respect each other, but they don't know what's going on in one another's lives apart from what they get to see with their own eyes.
-
I just wonder why he never asked Yuzu how Yuzu had done in the Japanese Nationals and what standing he'd had.

ProphpBB clinging to some of its clients? Weird... I can use Firefox with windows - I'm fine.
