I don’t see much difference from his previous FaOI shows. He’s usually very playful in galas of competitions he won, but not necessarily in shows. Also fans should not make assumptions about his feelings and superimpose these assumptions on him. When he appears to be happy then he is happy, not “he has to pretend to be happy”. This purely comes from your own imagination and has nothing to do with him. To me it seems quite unnecessary to feel unhappy for some assumptions made by yourself…

please check DM~

Yes he is answering question no.5, and Citizen is asking fan's preference on Weibo (which one do they want to see next), and likely tomorrow they will release the reply to question no.7. (What will you say to your future self?)

Both LOTTE and Citizen China have new Yuzu related promotion today. LOTTE has clear file merch and Citizen China has asked for Yuzu's reply for 7 questions (reply not released yet, will be released in next 7 days). 1. What is the difficulty to complete 4A? 2. How to deal with the ever-changing competition environment and strong competitors? 3. If you have time to take a rest (go for a vacation), what would you do? 4. If there is a next program inspired watch, which program will you choose? 5. Anything impressive from fan's letters in Beijing? 6. Chinese cuisine you like, and recommend hometown food? 7. What will you say to your future self?

It's his birthday~

Isn‘t she participating SOI in Japan in early April? I'm confused...

There are two commonly seen free leg positions for salchow take-off, one is more close to the take-off leg (left leg for Yuzu). Yuzu, Rika Kihira, Kamila Valieva, Javier Fernandez, Roman Sadovsky and many skaters use this method. The other position is to put the free leg more far away from the take-off leg. This method is adopted by Yuna Kim, Kaori Sakamoto, Michal Brezina and many others. Because the first method put the free leg closer to the take-off leg (which is believed to help skater enter the rotational position faster), so it seems like there are two feet on the ice before take-off, but in fact only the left leg is used to take-off. Hope it helps.

The take off of salchow is by left foot only, the position of right foot was on the ice but it's not helping the take off.

Welcome to the Planet! There is always a dark side of every fandom. There is no perfect fandom and I don't think fanyus are more toxic than the fans of other skaters either. Regarding figure skating fandom, you will not become a "recognized/qualified" "good skating fan" by other self-claimed "good skating fans" unless you show your hate towards fanyus as a whole and never talk about the technical and judging problems (unless you are speaking up for non-medal contenders who will not threat the medals of their faves). For me, through out the years I realize the problem here is not just with some "rude fanyus". I think the problem is more with the rest of FS fandom. They are feeling jealous and maybe threatened by the number of fanyus, which their fave(s) would never have, so they just pick out some fanyus and try to lowball whatever fanyus say by calling the entire fandom toxic. Anyway I don't need their recognition to watch figure skating(who are they?) and I don't want to be a FS fan anymore once Yuzu stops competing because I'm so disgusted by the judging system. This sport disregard rules to an extent that I think I'm fine with some fans being impolite. Sorry for ranting.

I was hoping he might feel better now, but it sounds not. I shouldn't have expected that even when I, as a fan, still feel painful for what happened a month ago. I hope time will cure. Hope his beloved family members could comfort him and let him know he is loved by so many around the world.

"We" (people on this forum) are most likely NOT those who you see on twitter "blatantly hateful with rude mocking names", so "we" are not going to "move on" from anything. Don't you think it's better to tell those people directly instead of acting as if fanyus are all the same on this forum? We are individuals and not in control of other fanyus. PS for admin, if this is off topic, please feel free to move/remove my comment, thanks.

Thank you for the interest! I usually share them in live competition threads, but as many competitions are without yuzu & not very important, my suggestion is to dig into the rules and other basics first~ (however if I had a chance to give some suggestions to myself as a baby fanyu, that would be "stay away from figure skating as a sport and don't invest your time in it it's mostly fake", haha, but maybe everyone have to find it out by themselves)

Haha I know what you mean. For example I'm not good at fighting (with other fandoms, or "real skating fans") or producing fanarts, but I like learning techniques and analyzing programs so I sometimes re-score those terribly judged programs. I'm happy that we have a variety of satellites and we can all contribute to the planet in our own ways.

I think OP is being mean on purpose to respond to some non-sense complaints. The first sentence pointed out that there are comments under the Gala video accusing people being disrespectful to other skaters by only talking about Yuzuru. Those accusations are so laughable, like who are they to teach people what they should and should not comment? Does praising Yuzu hurt anyone? What do they expect fanyus to comment on other skaters? And OP gave an example of what she might say if she is forced to comment about other skaters. The example is mean but I assume it is exaggerated for dramatic effect and she speaks in a hypothetical circumstance. Yuzuru is an angel. He praises and encourages all his juniors, seniors, competitors, literally everyone. But fans are not from Planet Hanyu and fans get angry sometimes when facing strange accusations. I don't think Yuma's program is trying to "replace" Yuzu by imitating his costume, at the same time I don't think it is "showing love and respect for him" either. In the end what I get from OP is just "don't teach, it may not look good if we follow your request to also comment on others".

The second volunteer says she made the decision to major in Japanese after watching Yuzu's performance in Pyeong Chang in 2018. The third volunteer says she is a fan of Wu Dajing (the only gold medalist for China in 2018) and Yuzu. Yuzu related part: "This is Yuzuru's third Olympics. I hope that he does not feel too much pressure and he can enjoy the competition. I look forward to his success in (landing) 4A in Beijing Olympics. " This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].

The new 840 points from this year's 4cc will replace the old 386 points Jun earned in 2019-20 championships so he will have a net increase of 454 points, instead of 840 points. So Yuzu is still No. 7 now.

Yes that is true. China has locked down the entire Xi'an city (population ~ 13M) for three weeks now, for less than 200 local cases per day. No one (except very exceptional cases) in the city is supposed to step out of their doors. I would think quarantine the spectators is inevitable if anyone in the stadium is tested positive.
-
Agree, fans do not get a chance and non-fans won't even bother. Even there are spectators there won't be many.

I just see someone posted an (internal) "invitation letter" to watch Beijing 2022 Figure Skating competitions. The organising party is a local Chinese sponsor. In the "invitation letter" the spectators are required to stay in Beijing at least 14 days before the competition and 7 days after the competition and do 2 PCR tests before the competition and another 2 after. They are also required to report their health condition everyday before the competition for 14 days and not go anywhere except home and office for 7 days after the competition. Only the official (arranged) transportation may be used and spectators are required to stay in designated residence during the competition period. I wonder whether anyone living outside Beijing could meet all these requirements. And consider the strict quarantine requirement in China, if anyone in the stadium is tested positive, everyone in the stadium may need to be quarantined for another 14-21 days in hotels. Even if there are fans who are willing to take the risk, they still need to get an "invitation" to begin with. Can't estimate how many fans will be able to go in the end...

He can jump 4A, there is no limit on numbers of Axels... The rule only requires to jump one 2A or 3A, but didn't ban 4A. Remember Alysa Liu used to jump 3A3T with 2A in her SP.
-
It's because 4A is not perfectly landed yet. Compared to Yuzu's perfect 4S, 4A<< with two foot landing gives up more than 10 point on the table. Fans are arguing he should give up 4A in FS by adding 4Lo (or maybe 4Lz) to increase the technical score, not adding another 4A in SP to reduce the technical score in SP. Also if the skater get a low SP score, judges tend to lowball the skater in FS as well because they no longer want the skater to be a (gold) medal contender. If he wants to include 4A in the program, better be FS. The new system is a very GOE dominated system. He can win by quality of the jumps, if scored fairly. However if ISU is determined to promote someone else with unfair judging, no one can stop them unless the promoted one has a very bad day.

Source from Chinese Forum, Beijing Olympics will not sell tickets to general public. Previously the tickets were planned to be given away to local sponsors/civil servants only, but now those tickets are also cancelled due to the pandemic. Some tickets will be given to the competing athletes though.

Somehow I don't really care about GPF... Competitions are meaningless these days. Just send the medals to the anointed ones by email. No quarantine or border crossing required, benefit the entire human being.
