    Only during the winter, but it's open till 8pm every day, so I'll get at least an hour after work! You have to pay for the season pass, but at $190 for the whole winter it's actually pretty cheap. I just have to go 19 times for it to be worth it. Won't be a challenge at all!

    Soooooo... I got sick of my neighbors complaining about the guitar noise. So I'm moving out in a month. To an apartment complex that has an ice rink during the winter. Totally didn't influence my decision at all. Really, I swear. But this means I'll be able to practice every day for at least 2 months or so!

    That is so encouraging... Oh, cool, what kind of jump? I've only tried hopping on 2 feet, I'm too scared to try anything with one foot.

    That was my experience too, I think what helps with the wiggles is moving your hips and shoulders as well, it's actually less about the feet and more about shifting the weight with your whole body. Kinda hard to explain, especially since mine are far from perfect haha.

    Nice! That's how my first lesson went too. Practice swizzles a lot, that's how I got better at backward. I'm jealous you get to go two days in a row!!! I've been going once a week, but hopefully I'll be able to cram in an extra hour a day once more rinks start opening.

    Congrats! How did it go? I've now been skating for 3 weeks, so I'm making progress. A little bit. I still can't do much, but I'm getting better at backward one-foot glides, so that's something hahaha. I'm having trouble with slaloms, though...

    So I finally got my own pair of skates, the Jackson Artiste. Will be taking my first lesson on Sunday, super excited! I'm not sure how often I'll take lessons, but I'll probably go skate on my own once a week, and perhaps more once the free/cheap public rinks start opening. Yay for winter! Sure, I doubt the ice will be as nice, but I shouldn't spend so much on skating because I'm saving up for my next Ridiculously Expensive guitar haha.

    I really want to start skating, but I don't have anyone to go with... Is there anyone in NYC that'd be interested in going to the Chelsea Piers rink every once in a while? (Weekends, since I usually work 8-6)

    Ooooh, I hope Jun Hwan gets SC! Then I can go see him and Yuzu. Assuming Yuzu gets it, of course. But poor boy, I think he has great potential, but I feel so bad for him moving to seniors so quickly and right in the middle of the insane quad race. I don't want him to hurt himself. I actually really liked his SP at Junior Worlds. I don't like the music, but I like that it's playful and lets him have some fun while he can. He's also showing a lot of improvement, at the Yokohama JGP he had a poker face the whole time. It was kind of hilarious :smile:

    I love Jun Hwan, he seems like such a fun kid. And his 3A isn't actually that bad, isn't he only 15? I think he has time to improve, I mean, Brian Orser IS Mr. Triple Axel, after all. I hope he goes to SC, that's the one I'm most likely to go to, since Yuzu's probably going.

    Ahhh, me gusta LGC, pero preferiria que lo cambiara, le causo demasiados problemas y no quiero verlo como al final del SP en Worlds :cry: Pero si me gustaria que lo volviera a hacer como EX, el StSq es hermoso :love:

    I really wish this talk about 4Lz weren't necessary... Some of the other skaters can afford to learn the jumps at the expense of artistry, but we all know Yuzu's too hard on himself to do that, he always needs to be the whole package, and I don't want him to burn out. But well, not much we can do about it. I'm worried about Nathan, mostly. If he does manage to pull off a clean 6-quad program, I have a feeling his PCS will skyrocket even if his skating skills don't improve... And of course, Shoma's becoming frightening quite quickly. I'm not TOO worried about Shoma doing a 4Lz given his tendency to flutz, but still... Ahhh, this is so stressful, and we're just watching from the sidelines, I can't imagine what Yuzu's feeling. Actually, nvm, I can, it's probably along the lines of kuyashii and "have to work harder" :smile:

    Ooooh, fantastic video! I'm not great at recognizing all the jumps when I can't see the entry, so that's super helpful! And of course, I can't miss the chance to watch Yuzu's jumps over and over :smile: And this thread's growing so fast!

    うん、guitaristでいいです。ギタリストもいい。 そうですね。私はアメリカに住んでいるから多分カナダに行けます。ゆずが今年のスケートカナダに出たらいいな。

    私も昔のプロ自分の目で見たいです。Parisienne Walwaysすごい見たいです！2014年にPWを見てからゆずの大ファンになりました。でも、引退の話まだ早いです :cry: 私はゆずを自分の目でまだ見てないから引退を考えたくないです :crybaby:

    Ugh, can't say I'm excited for more Turandot. I love opera, but it's like doing Rach's 2nd piano concerto... I didn't know Concierto de Aranjuez counted as a warhorse, I just knew Patrick used it at some point. Too bad, I love it, it's one of the few guitar concertos around.

    Hola a todos! Wooow, si que creció esta discusión en un solo día! La primera vez que vi a Yuzu fue en la tele, con Parisienne Walkways. Inmediatamente me capturó. La música también ayudó, ya que yo había tocado esa canción en guitarra. No lo seguía tanto hasta el año pasado, solo de vez en cuando veía videos de sus rutinas en YouTube. Pero ahora estoy en un hoyo negro sin salida, no puedo detenerme. Todos los días en el gimnasio pongo videos de Yuzu mientras corro :rofl:

    Yay, más personas que hablan español! He pasado tanto tiempo hablando inglés en los últimos 4 años que a veces extraño el español. Aunque la verdad es medio extraño hablar de patinaje en español porque siempre escucho puros videos en inglés y japonés :smile IndieYul, tu avatar es demasiado adorable!!!

    안녕하세요! 저는 멕시코사람이지만 대학에서 한국어를 공부했어요. 아직한국어 잘 못 하지만 더 연습하고 싶어요. 평창에 가고 싶지만 아마 갈 못해요 :crybaby:
