I think it’s a timing issue plus what people were saying earlier in this thread - there’s a lot of intensity and purposefulness (is that a word?) this summer. I don’t think he wants the distraction or the disruption of media day in the short time before ACI. And does he need to do it if it doesn’t fit with his personal schedule of how this season starts out? - everyone is primed and ready without an official unveiling these days, and his status is such that JSF and media will put up with whatever he chooses to do.

Is there a coach there who could do something about his jumps? Where does Tsusuki teach ( if he’s still teaching) . Maybe he could get some ice time with Honda while Stephane is doing Hyoen.

The choreographer can be a great help - provided the flag is right reputation counts for a lot and seems to transcend actual performance. I had great hopes of ‘Nemesis’, thought it was potentially Chen’s ‘ Parisan’ but all he did was whittle away at the choreography as that season progressed until all that was left were jumps. Still got marked as though the choreography was actually performed when it wasn’t and had to bomb all jumps to get marked down. Which is why although Nathan seems like a nice kid, balancing Yale, quad quad, x2 WC, blah blah, he’s not a great skater for me, but a box ticker.

I love his enthusiasm for skating - he looked a bit ground down by competition nerves towards the end of his competitive career but has bounced back amazingly since.

Doesn’t matter- he’s not competing against ballet dancers. What he is doing is using different, unusual moves inspired by dance movements in figure skating, which no one else (?correct me if I’m wrong) is trying at the moment. Hoping that Kevin Aymoz will be another innovator when he gets going properly.

That is such a pity - thank you to everyone who hosted viewing parties for those of us who couldn’t watch otherwise.

It will be great if his 4ltz stabilises - and if he’s managed to get married without the press breathing down his neck good for him- wish them every happiness.
