I’m just greedy - no knowing when he might decide he’s had enough of the Canadian winter and transfer all that concentrated attention elsewhere - or god forbid, his ankle might give out - I’d just like as many programmes as possible before that happens.
-
Full potential at Saitama- the 4A when he’s ready - doesn’t have to be Origin - you know wherever he uses it, it will be epic.
-
Nooo- don’t hope for that - hope for him to skate to his satisfaction in Saitama and new programmes that are his own rather than tributes next season - lovely idea but one season is enough - and Johnny and Plushy have been more than adequately rewarded for their inspiration.

Lot of footage online of Kaori doing different sequences... she’s fired up.

On a sadder note, two bad fires in Asdown Forest https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-22793133/ashdown-forest-fire-spreads-in-winnie-the-pooh-woods

Well that’s true enough if it’s jump technique that’s the problem - Lord knows the Euros competition threads were full of pleas to Lambiel to get a specialist coach - but if it’s a mental confidence thing (because he manages the SP) maybe it would help? I feel as though he needs a Tracy or a coach Fluffy or maybe a Stephane to be a sympathetic encouraging voice in his ear - but for all I know his coach is sympathetic. I just feel sad for him.

I suppose so. Carmen seemed like a really good choice for him, especially after Elvis (which to me was a bit like T&M doing Candyman- just a terrible fit) but he just can’t seem to hold it together. Read comments elsewhere about his age - such a pity the Russian skaters can’t just up and change coaches - he’s about the same age as Jason Brown and might benefit from a change of approach. Those SPs show how fluid and sharp he can be. Having said that Carmen doesn’t seem to be helping anyone this season.

I just saw Mikhails FS at Tallinn - yikes. I had such hopes that he’d turned a corner after that great SP at Euros but it looks like it was a one off....
-
I hope they will put it somewhere we can all see after the event - last year the costumes were amazing - Shizuka in particular looked fabulous

Just been looking at the schedule for Saitama and doing the maths to work out the times- not going to be getting much sleep but on the plus side, unlikely to be interrupted either. Can’t say I see myself sitting through a lot of tangos at 1am, though I’ll probably record them.
-
so true....
-
Looking forward to it - everyone is out tomorrow so no interruptions 🥂

Thank you @sallycinnamon - I lost it after Shoma - I had forgotten to be grateful for the commentary- they had their favourites but infinitely preferable to nbc. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the high of that performance which lasted 24 hours + 💐💐💐

Worked after a few gos for me - sorry 😐

Team we're fewer but still good!

I’m sure I remember a music thread but I can’t find it being useless on these things. I watched an oldish film 13th Warrior tonight and the soundtrack would work for Mr GoT Paul Fentz. -
Coming late after watching the pairs on my return home. Just soooo grateful to see S/H back - do you think we cherish the ones who get injured more because we get afraid we won’t see them again? I know everyone rates the Empress but Han Cong is my absolute favourite male pairs skater - quite possibly ever -I love that they are a proportionate couple instead of a big bloke with a little girl, and they are just so stylish . I like P/ J too, but S/H are in a class of their own. Really hope they can both stay healthy. Reminds me of Yuzu at PC - return after injury without enough prep....
-
God that takes me back - Kohei at Worlds and not long after Yuzuru at NHK - same injury, same foot.....

Junior Skaters of 2018/19 season
Sombreuil replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
Never mind the girls - Samsonov ! If he can make it through those problematic teenage years he could be what Kolyada is aiming for but not quite hitting. I still hope that Mikhail gets there but if he doesn’t for whatever reason there is a potential Russian style successor waiting in the juniors. -
Feels really weird to be posting this here. Tonight I watched a documentary about Eva Peron and the Evita musical- I always wished that JF would do a prgramme to the Che characters music - maybe now he’s retired he might consider it?

Good Lord, are they still going on about those fanyus that take up all the tickets - and on and on and on ... meh - take plenty of no notice as my old mother says on a regular basis.🙄

I too am extremely grateful to everyone who does translations for us all -not just to English, which is what I need , but to all the many languages of the multilple nations that make up this forum 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐

Part of my anti rugby evening - GPF 2014 PotO - which won’t embed but look for Nico Ichi’s channel on YouTube - no commentary phantom - easier to ignore the fall without a commentator trumpeting it in your ear - observe the lightness and elegance of the jump passes (mostly) integrated into the choreo - first outing with SLB and it is gorgeous.

The rugby started in earnest this weekend, so I have the fire to myself, a glass of wine and am indulging in some old favourites- Fred 1 at GPF 2014 with no commentary - the link won’t embed but it’s on Nico Ichi’s channel on YouTube no commentary - nice smile on the fall and at the end - I love murderface NHK 2015 but this is just as good.
