  1. Not only that, their comment of "no other top ten finishers from Worlds" betrays a massive lack of understanding of the men's field in figure skating right now. Keegan and Jun, as well as Kevin, are both fully capable of being top ten on any given day. The writer of that article didn't even have the grace to mention Camden's result, even though he was the only American actually in ACI and therefore the only one relevant to this article. As I said, horrible journalism and their editor should not have let this go online without heavy revision.
  2. Maybe Nathan has, but NBC certainly hasn't. This is the way they write about all their sports. No wonder so many American athletes drop out at the height of their careers. It's effing irresponsible journalism, is what it is.
  3. Subtle? There's nothing subtle about it! Whoever wrote that knows nothing about journalistic objectivity. They even drag Nathan Chen's name into the bloody title!!!
  4. The way that's written - ' he is strongly convinced that the complete form of Origin is with 4A' - sounds a lot like Yuzu is an artist giving birth to a masterpiece, instead of an athlete. It reminds me of the famous quote from Michelangelo about setting the angel free from the block of marble. I wonder if Yuzu thinks about it that way.
  5. I see that On Ice Perspectives got it on camera so we'll be seeing closeup of Yuzu and Pooh in high quality video over on his channel soon!
  6. If it wasn't for Yuzuru, I would never have had my first conversation in (very broken) Japanese, with actual Japanese speakers, yesterday morning. The four aunties were so pleased that I could say ' yonkaiten Salchow', 'sukoshi', 'kuyashii', and 'nihongo beginner desu' while pointing to myself, and then, while pointing to a picture of Yuzu I had open on my phone, 'because of him'. They all delightedly told me ( in great English) 'Ah, he changed your life! So wonderful!'
  7. Do it! Just make sure it's not against the rules ( undue pressuring of judges or something, maybe it's a thing, you never know)
  8. Yes. All we need is satellites to sit in groups of four.
  9. I think something like a poster with '110+', '220+', '340+', etc would convey the same meaning and put it in today's terms. Or use the GOE or component values max. '9.75' or '+5 GOE' says it very succinctly.
  10. I can't wait! I've been hoping and praying that Jordan would get to film Yuzu one day. Would be even better if he got to film Yuzu while skating with him.
  11. No. The 6.0 system was far worse and more corrupt than anything we see today. As a fan who started watching FS during the 6.0 era, I can guarantee that if the ISU went back to that, Yuzu would never win again.
  12. Possibly? Yuzu has incredible respect for his flag, as witnessed today. Maybe a different idea would be better
  13. It's early season and Skate Canada is six weeks away. My guess is he plans to tinker with it if needed..
  14. I know, right? Unless they mean the term in the sense of 'fans of Japanese things' , instead of 'fans that are Japanese' , it's so wrong to use right now. I've heard more Chinese in the last two days...!
  15. Imagine how much fun it would be if he came in person!
  16. But really, he's re-worked it a ton. It's not the same program exactly, so we'll see where it goes from here.
  17. If anyone's interested, I just posted my photos and video ( what was good enough, anyway) from last year's ACI up in the gallery. The quality's not awesome but I did try to capture as many different skaters as possible. Don't be put off by the black squares on the video thumbnails - if you click, the video plays ok.
  18. Plus, the Olympic Channel isn't really making up that much. They're basically just quoting Yuzu and Nathan and repeating the stories we already know.
  19. Whoever writes for Olympic Channel has got to be a fanyu.
  20. I'd laugh, but you know he's going to do it one day. If not in competition, then at FaOI.
  21. I just realized - one side is fluffy! I'd expect nothing less of him.
  22. Anyone who survived the 2017 -2018 and 2018-2019 seasons, that's who. Drama is over-rated. I don't think my heart could take another year like that.
  23. One thing we can say for sure, is that Yuzu doesn't bring jumps to competition before they're reliable and ready. And getting them to that state takes a minute. My best estimate is that we'll see one of the three (my money's on Lady Lutz) this season, one next season, and if he goes to 2022, one that season as well.
  24. Welcome, and that's an excellent way to spend your time - I approve!
  25. But it might take him a bit to get it up to his standards. No one knows how long Yuzu's career will last - he may or may not have 4F ready by that time. And guys, remember that Yuzu does occasionally listen to his coaches. Not always, but sometimes.
