And do you think Yuzu would appreciate you disrespecting his coach this way? No matter what you may think of Orser, he is the coach that Yuzu himself personally chose. Yuzu could have any coach in the world that he wants - or all of them at once - but he has stuck with Brian all this time. Year after year, Yuzu chooses of his own free will to return to Brian and TCC. It is his own decision Therefore it is wrong of any of Yuzu's fans to disrespect Brian. If you disrespect Brian, it's the same as disrepecting Yuzu and criticizing his decisions and choices. It's not supporting Yuzu at all.

and frankly there's no mud to throw in this case. Brian has stated on several occasions that he follows Yuzu's lead. If Yuzu wants more from Brian, he only has to ask directly.

Toronto is the current hot spot of Canada's third wave. Yuzu is far better off in Japan at the moment, although things may change by July, which is when TCC normally reconvenes for the new season, I believe. So Yuzu doesn't have to make a decision right away. Still though, considering the way some of Brian's past students have left with little warning, the uncertainty must be painful for him, I think he genuinely regards Yuzu with great affection and misses him.

Wow! well done!

....hopefully at a more affordable price!

That's my understanding as well.

Since it doesn't seem likely that I'll be able to travel to Beijing, I surely do hope that Yuzu will go to Milano! But it seems a bit premature to speculate on it.

Oh, 100%!! In fact, this whole issue opened my eyes to the fact that a lot of ways of communicating that we Canadians take for granted actually do sound very inappropriate and rude to people in other countries, even other English speakers. Pretty ironic for a country that prides itself on being polite! I can only say this: when it's the CBC, assume goodwill. They might sound bad, but they definitely don't have any malice in their hearts.

ooh, Thank you!

Well, this is exactly what the twitverse is complaining about. They're of the opinion that the necessary info is only a Google away, so why not do the research beforehand? Among other things. Anyway the Planet has a rule against bringing drama from other forums and platforms into this space, so I'm just going to stick to it as one example of @Henni147's category 4 people and leave it at that. @Henni147 I can see why people misconstrue Kurt's commentary from time to time, but as someone who's grown up listening to him, it's pretty clear to me that no matter how much his foot is jammed in his mouth at times, he always has good intentions. He's not deliberately trying to be insulting at any point (unlike JW for example), even though sometimes it does come out sounding like it. All I'm saying is, no matter how complimentary the CBC crew try to be about Yuzu, there's always someone waiting to jump on the things they get wrong. I don't know why that is, but there you go.

The CBC commentators seems to permanently be stuck in this category, no matter how hard they try. I see Carol Lane is getting criticized on Twitter for her "I don't really know what that was about, and I don't care, it was just so beautiful" comment about Hana Wa Saku. The ironic thing is, when you listen to the entire commentary from beginning to end, it's so so SO painfully obvious that all three of them are going out of their way to choose their words carefully so as to avoid causing any misunderstandings about how much they adore Yuzu's skating...and yet they still managed to say the wrong thing. I mean, I do see how the comment is problematic. But at this point, it's just painful listening to them turning themselves into knots trying to find appropriately complimentary things to say about Yuzu, that won't end up being taken the wrong way and causing controversy.

But you wouldn't necessarily have used 'purin' or 'pudding' to refer to something like these, would you? That's what I'm trying to figure out: https://www.snackpack.com/flavorful-favorites/chocolate https://www.birdscustard.co.uk/ https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/263342/homemade-baked-egg-custard/ I also don't quite understand the English way of using 'pudding' to refer to the dessert course in general - although I do enjoy homemade plum pudding at Christmas.
-
somewhat off-topic here, but I've always wondered how this came about: in Japan, the word 'pudding' often seems to refer specifically to crème caramel, whereas the English word itself can refer to a whole class of desserts made with milk, eggs, sugar, and flavouring. Does anyone know why - why crème caramel ?

And here I was, about to say 'at least people aren't complaining that Jason is turning too Canadian ' - LOL! Poor Brian. It must absolutely suck to be the kind of coach that he is, and have people slandering him this way all the time. Anyway, for the record: multiculturalism is one of Canada's strongest values as a country. We're literally built on the idea that anyone can come here, keep their originating culture, and still make a happy life for themselves here. It's literally un-Canadian for a Canadian coach to try and turn a foreign skater training here away from expressing their own culture. Like, we just don't think that way.

Argh. When she even said at the at the time that the song was one she always wanted to do. granted, the first costume was not her cup of tea but she at least gave it a go. Anyone would think there was something inherently wrong and bad about becoming a little Canadian, the way people go on. And do these 'fans' not read any of Orser's interviews? He always makes it 100% crystal clear that he and his team respect and support their skaters' choices. Orser is the kind of coach that enables a skater become fully themselves on the ice, as opposed to dictating every single thing and stamping out carbon-copy athletes with no sense of their own identity.

This!!! This, this, this!!! It's entirely possible to appreciate and enjoy a performance and music that are totally new and foreign to you. The understanding of the background and cultural milieu can always come later and enhance your enjoyment after the fact. Which is why I get so annoyed by people in official capacity in FS sneering at performances that are out of the mainstream.

And he'll have had time to practice it by then so... In any case, I think the real reason it's in the choreo is just to make us smile and laugh, in which case, objective already achieved, so it's fine with me even if he leaves it as is.

Very true. However, I think Yuzu prefers killing us with eye contact and a wicked smile.

Perhaps Pooh-san is secretly the guardian of the 🍑

Ghislain is giving the camera the staredown in that middle picture like he knows what we're all thinking, LOL!

His backside surely deserves a medal all its own

I can easily demonstrate booty-wiggling, but, unlike with Yuzu, ain't nobody on the Internet want to see that!
-
Excuse you all, but how dare you lot start a discussion of Yuzu's booty-shaking without me present? I HAVE THIRS..er...SERIOUS THOUGHTS TO CONTRIBUTE!!! Namely, that Yuzu's lack of gusto while performing said booty shaking is clearly due to his prolonged isolation...without outside feedback, he has simply forgotten how wild fans go for his sexy moves, and therefore he's lost his oomph. We shall have to remind him somehow. He needs to hear our screams again, satellites! Like so: WOO-HOO! YYYYYEEAAHHH!!! GO YUZU, YOU SEXY THANG!!! SHAKE IT LIKE A MILKSHAKE!!!@
