  1. Huh. What's the point of announcing a top 2? The award is already a joke, why also remove the drama of the moment? Honestly, if TXT wins this and BP doesn't show up, it kind of confirms that this is an attendance award. But even if it is an attendance award, it'll be meaningful for them because it'll give them exposure to the American public when they wouldn't normally get it ETA: Ooooh! So apparently they're doing a run off between the 2 groups but you have to vote through MTV's instagram stories Still confusing and super annoying. I can't tell if my vote actually went through. When you click on them, it pauses their pic and a link shows up to take you to the main voting page, but voting is closed on the site ETA 2: saw this link in the comments. When I click it says my vote has been counted. Not sure if it actually has
  2. Glad to see that JK was able to get #1 on both charts. Predictions were that Doja Cat would pass him on the Global 200. And I'm not sure if it was just 1 unhinged Blink that Army decided to exaggerate or if they actually managed to get something going, but supposedly Blinks were streaming Doja to try to topple JK from the top
  3. I'm always struck by how small Bam's face is and I think to myself, even JK's dog fits Korean beauty standards! I'm curious exactly what "unusual" activity they're referring to. They don't seem to have any safeguards against multiple accounts and each account is limited to 10 so why do they think that overseas accounts are more likely to be botting? I'm also curious as to whose fandom they're suspecting. If the "unusual" activity is simply an unexpected number of votes for a certain group, it's probably Stays - which doesn't even mean that they broke any rules, just that they're more popular than MTV realized or the fandom was able to rally more support from other fandoms. If it's an inordinate # of votes from a specific location like Thailand, it's probably Blinks. I don't recall any semi-successful mass voting attempts from the other groups so I'm guessing it's one of these 2 if there is a genuine issue rather than just racism - makes no sense to think the US is less likely to bot when people are just as likely to be tech savvy here as anywhere else. But this does favor Blinks - whether that was MTV's intention or just a side effect of racism, not sure. Did you see the Twitter posts from Blinks asking other fandoms for help? Why TF would BeyHive, Swifties, Barbz, etc. care about giving BlackPink and award? I'm happy for JK that he's even in the conversation, but I personally find this article a little insulting. What do you mean the "first hit by a BTS member"? Jimin also got #1, and Western artists aren't expected to get #1 for a song to be considered a hit. Tom wasn't fired - he retired while he recovered from testicular cancer. The 1st few seasons of The Real World were great, especially the San Francisco season. They used to delve into a lot of topical issues. And they had really informative, in depth specials as well as fun animation. They had a lot of trash alongside the good stuff, but there used to at least BE good stuff. It wasn't until MTV made everything about salaciousness that the channel became unwatchable. I was actually disappointed that he was nominated for that because that means he won't be nominated next year for any of the real categories. But I suppose the timing of the release would make any nominations next year really awkward - not that an MTV award is worth anything anyway. It's really just a platform for promotion. Taylor and Beyonce might go, but I doubt they even display those gaudy trophies
  4. That's so ridiculous but so cute! I love that this guy loves his bull so much that he wants to drive it around like a dog. I wish my cats were comfortable riding shotgun
  5. I'm so grateful to Jimin and his rascally ways, but I suddenly feel a pang in my heart. Can you imagine how quickly and excitedly Hobi would have reacted to this photo?
  6. That was such a ridiculous controversy. I'd say that it was just antis looking to manufacture a controversy, but even in 1 of my BTS fan groups, people were talking about how disappointed they were in him. When people tried to explain the song and how him posting it wasn't anti-Muslim, one person said that it supports homosexuality and since it's against her religion, Joon was disrespecting her religion. And it's like... what BTS have you been following? Sometimes it's tough to take the zen Keanu Reeves approach to life, but if you get yourself too tangled up with internet morons, your IQ will shrink down to their level. I also came across this post: In the comments, someone says that the owner is Trans. It surprised me a little that someone would be openly trans and have a gay bar in South Korea. I guess it shouldn't - I read that S. Korea has started having Pride events and the world is ever evolving - but I know S. Korea is very homophobic. But it makes me proud to see how brave our guys are to openly support something so controversial in their home country. I doubt any of them will ever come out because they have to think of their shareholders and the futures of everyone under their label, but they're still taking a step toward more acceptance.
  7. A summary of all the Tae events And another tidbit about how great our guys are. There's plenty of entertainers with material I enjoy, but I can only be a fan of good hearted people.
  8. okay. That's the exception, lol. That short cut looks hot.
  9. Can't remember if this was already shared. Dang, Tae is busy!
  10. I thought the same thing until the W Korea photo shoot, when I immediately noticed he looked different. Up until then, I've only seen him with his hair covering the tops of his ears. Makes me think it was relatively recently. Sort of like how Tae always wore bangs, bandanas, and hats for most of his career then suddenly he was wearing styles that exposed his forehead often - it looks like he got his hairline lowered somewhere around the "On" era (because you can see the baby hairs growing out). I know he was always self conscious about his forehead so it didn't surprise me that he changed that but I've never seen the ears be listed as part of Korean beauty standards or even be a subject of ridicule online so I'm a little surprised that he got those done, though I recall JK teasing him about the ears on their 1st or 2nd Festa. He still would have been handsome with his natural ears and hairline, but he carries himself with so much more confidence since he got them done so I say more power to him. Jin was also on Running Man. It was a lot of fun to watch - sort of like a Run BTS type show - but it seemed unfair to get Kim Jong-kook on your team for the physical strength events. I was watching a Reactor and he was talking about how the Maknae line + RM have F-boy faces while Hobi, Jin, and Suga have more sweet faces. I think JK looks more cute and sweet with the short hair but more sexy and manly with the longer hair.
  11. Holy crap! Proof is still charting! I'm still trying to figure out all these charts. Jimin was #2 on the Billboard 200, which is the best selling albums in the US. But I don't see anything about him on the World Album chart? Suga got #2, blocked by F'n Morgan Wallen, but wiki is saying that "world music" is music not from the West? And Indigo was #1 on the World Album chart 3 weeks in a row.
  12. BTW, Seven is in its 6th week at #1 on the Global 200 and Global excl US. https://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2023/08/28/jung-kook-still-claims-the-biggest-hit-in-the-world-after-more-than-a-month/?sh=4adbdbc248ce I assumed it would get bumped off next week, but Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez's songs aren't doing as well as I thought they would. Both their music videos only have 11 M views and I don't see either of them on the top of many charts https://kworb.net/charts/ Of course, I don't know how many sales they've had so Seven might still get bumped off but JK is looking good based on streaming. and it doesn't look like BlackPink's release is going to do much of anything
  13. I suspect that he's gotten his ears pinned back at some point in his life. The top half of his ears lay flatter than they used to and ears don't naturally change shape except to get bigger. (as usual, I'll mention that I don't think there's anything wrong with plastic surgery and is healthier than other socially accepted beauty practices like severe dieting, which most idols do regularly)
  14. My guess is that the tour won't be until 2026 but I don't want to feel restricted so I'm starting my savings now - I figure I'll probably have to travel so will make the concerts double as vacations. I'll have to get tips from @amylance1215 on how she's able to get into so many concerts I always keep The Astronaut on my playlist since it's my favorite of the solo songs and Jin doesn't have as many total streams as the others. Only 20 streams a day count for the charts so there's plenty of time to stream for the charts as well as personal favorites and group goals (I keep the playlist going when I'm sleeping and working) Right now, I'm also including anything that's still charting worldwide + Respect, N.O., Born Singer, and Cypher Part 3 because Proof and Map of the Soul: 7 are the closest to getting all the songs to 100 million and I think that would extend our record as the most albums with all songs to 100 million. Also, Jimin, Jin, Suga, and Hobi all are considered million album sellers - still weird to me that The Astronaut is considered an album - and BTS is the only group that's achieved this. RM is about 180k away. Such a shame considering it's such a high quality album. I really hope that eventually all the members can hit that million seller mark - hopefully we can do it for RM on his new release. I'm going to be hopeful that the increase in sales with each release has more to do with momentum rather than the fandom being so splintered.
  15. Save up your money ladies! I'm working a double time shift tomorrow that's going straight to my ticket fund.
  16. The one "positive" aspect of this article is that at least it acknowledges that fans of Western artists do it too. They should change the line to "fans of every major star" because that's the truth. And if every major star has fan clubs like this, then it's an even playing field so they should let the chips fall where they may rather than rewarding the artists who are willing to pay for radio play
  17. They should have either had the barricade, if there was one, further back so no one was anywhere close to the car, or had more security guards forming a bigger barrier around V. I do kind of feel for the security guards. Obviously first priority is safety of the artist, but in this hyper woke, cancel culture world, they have to balance imminent threat with the perception to the artist. They can be fired for letting someone get too close to the artist, but they can also be fired if they're perceived as being overly aggressive and causing a scandal. More Scooter stuff: This article is saying that Scooter is stepping back from management to focus on being CEO of Hybe America. Truthfully, I think this is the most plausible explanation for why people are leaving at the same time. If anything I hear about CEO's is true, he can't possibly have time to properly manage an artist while fulfilling his duties to the company. https://www.buzzfeed.com/natashajokic1/scooter-braun-drama-explained?d_id=6239989&ref=bffbbuzzfeed&utm_source=dynamic&utm_campaign=bffbbuzzfeed&fbclid=IwAR1kJ8yYsuSiRjWOcsdrxhgJBcbaJNHpnB5XoPYOGhC90-uo0d-7k4riqY0
  18. ... I just now realized that the design behind the BTS symbol spell out PROOF ... ETA: more tidbits about Scooter (I need to figure out how @rockstaryuzu got the emojii)
  19. ah. I forgot that you don't have a working account on there anymore. I was trying to find the percentages of each round but I don't think Audacy displays them. The lack of transparency makes me question the integrity of the vote. No one's going to convince me that there are more Morgan Wallen fans than Suga fans so if Suga loses, I'm just going to assume it's rigged. Though for the most engagement, you would think that Audacy would put JK and Taylor on opposite sides to get Army and Swifties battling it out. I know that can still happen, but I think we all know that JK has more solos than Suga does. ETA: I wonder if I'm missing something in the instructions. I literally don't see a single vote for Wallen or Taylor in the comments. Does it only count if you do a separate tweet? Then Audacy should specify that
  20. A clear cash grab, but Audacy is the U.S.'s 2nd largest radio company. might be worth it to vote if it actually helps our guys get on the radio. Though I'm convinced that it's mostly back room deals that get radio play.
  21. O. M. G. ! I'm greedy though. I want to see the front then I can die happy
  22. A couple days earlier than expected, but we got our August Jinnie! https://weverse.io/bts/media/4-129120997
