  1. I'm disappointed but not surprised that RM got shut out. I guess he's not a strong enough vocalist to be put into a lot of the other categories and Indigo isn't really rap or hip hop, but still. I wish he got a Best collab nom at least. I'm thinking Suga will take this because he's more popular
  2. I'm holding onto a thin hope that ARMY is going to be smart about this voting. We're not going to beat Lim Young Woong if we divide our votes 3 ways. It's tough enough even 1 v 1 I think this is one of those categories where there are multiple winners? Honestly, I don't think the Seven choreography is that impressive. Hageum and Set Me Free are stronger
  3. Golden is clearly catered to the Western audience but JK also really loves Western pop music. He's done so many covers of Western artists for funsies. I had reservations early on because I didn't like the 1st single and I'm sure there are others I won't like, but I do think this music is to his taste. It doesn't bother me that he's not using the same team. Part of chapter 2 is each member getting to explore his own tastes and goals so of course you'll work with different people with different objectives. Tae used a different team and his album is great in spite of the producer he chose putting out garbage music previously (which made me nervous for him as well). Whether we like the music they put out or not, I do trust that they're following their personal compasses. btw, this is why I push being kind to fans of other groups. All you're going to do is spread hate (and possibly monetize the blue check marks) by replying with hostility, but occasionally you lead someone to give the guys a chance when you're nice
  4. I'm super excited! I was nervous when Seven came out - I still don't really like the song (oddly enough, I often find myself singing the part I hate the most - the Mon, Tues, etc. refrain), but I really liked the 1st 3/4 of 3D. I know I'm in the minority, but I just think it's a better structured song and I like the refrain a lot better. I think I'm looking forward to "Hate You" the most. I'm thinking it'll be like one of his gorgeous romantic covers. This is one of my favorites - he put Justin Bieber to shame: P.S. - If I were a touch more delulu, judging by the music videos and the song titles, I would think there's some love triangle between Jin, JK, and Tae, lol. What's with all these romantic sad songs, the alien drawing, the blanket matching Jin's coat that Tae gifted Jin, JK seeming in some sort of depression immediately after Jin left for the enlistment... Don't worry, I don't actually believe all this and it would be logical that JK would be sad having the group forced apart and I'm sure they just picked songs that they liked
  5. Any word yet if Vicnic is anywhere online? All the clips I've seen look so adorable!
  6. Now that I see the submissions, I've lost hope for a nomination beyond JK for Pop Duo/Group Why the hell didn't they submit Jack in the Box for all the Alternative rock categories? "On the Street" will probably automatically get ruled out for not being a pop song. Why didn't they submit it in melodic rap? Suga will likely get ruled out in favor of all the Western artists submitting for the rap categories Jimin unfortunately will be in JK's shadow, if, by some miracle, the panel can get past Kpop Jin should have been submitted for rock. I understand that it's borderline, but it's plausible in either rock or pop and, of course, he's going to get pushed aside for Western artists. RM - same issue. Honestly, not sure what category he belongs in, but he has no shot in the pop category. It's probably the one category where being artsy won't get him any sway. And unfortunately, V just didn't make enough of an impact in the US, even though this isn't supposed to be an American award. I'm just going to hope that one of them gets a nomination for music video. It's a minor category so they might allow one of them to get that, but the win doesn't seem to have anything to do with quality of the video. 7. This friendship is so funny!
  8. I wish I had someone as supportive as Jimin's dad
  9. It's still a great achievement, and maybe those other fandoms made giant last minute pushes, but as late as a couple hours before tracking week end, all the predictions were saying 3D was going to be no. 2 on the Hot 100, including Billboard's own. Oh well, JK can still say he got 2 solo #1's - realistically, Global should be more important than the Hot 100 anyway
  10. I guess the collab is on The Kid Laroi's album, not JK's
  11. ...and it's pretty clear who his bias wrecker is as well
  12. Understandable. I never would have heard of "Cupid" if Kpop accounts didn't pop up on my Twitter feed. Also would have never heard of New Jeans' "Ditto" without Kpop accounts and BTS. Just took a look and it looks like "Like Crazy" passed "Ditto" but "Cupid" is still ahead of him on Spotify streams. Sometimes I attempt to listen to music just to be in touch with the current cultural phenomena so I plan to listen to Cupid eventually just to see what it's about, but I need to give my ears a break after forcing myself to try to listen to Taylor Swift and New Jeans. I have yet to get through an entire song of either - will never understand the appeal.
  13. I wonder what category "The Astronaut" was submitted for - I'm guessing pop. I had a glimmer of hope since the rock category is really weak these days, but then I noticed that Coldplay has been getting submitted in the "pop" category, which explains why they haven't won in a long time. But confusing because I thought most people considered them Rock. Jin's music video had such a great concept and nuance. It deserves to be in the running for Best Music Video. I loved the Amygdala music video as well. I also wonder where Hobi's album was submitted. I think it was charting in the alternative charts and I don't recall seeing any of the nominees from last year on any of the regular charts.
  14. Last I heard, they were suing their label but they're still together. I never heard the rumors about payola, etc. - but that gets thrown around any time a song does better than someone's fave. "Cupid" was the biggest streamed Kpop song before New Jeans, "like Crazy", and "Seven" so it makes way more sense that they got nominated for EMA's than it did for BlackPink (who haven't done anything of note in a year) to win at the VMA's. hmm.. now that I think about it, Jimin got majorly snubbed twice now . He had 3 of the top 10 most streamed songs in Kpop this year Realistically, JK is the only one who has a shot at getting nominated. These are normally about commercial success + backstage deals. He won't win because of the latter reason but maybe Grammy will hope for more of an audience if they have a BTS member nominated. Jin might have an outside shot at a nomination since Coldplay wrote the song and he's the only one who was singled out by the Grammy panel when they previously submitted the group for consideration. But I highly doubt it since I don't think they're going to have anyone hustling for them behind the scenes. Jimin's music is too traditionally Kpop, which is not respected in the West and the rest didn't make enough of a splash in the West. But I have RM getting nominated on my wish list since he gets the least love from Army and I don't see how that can't hurt at least a little. I guess I'm not too surprised that this is the one that's turning out to be true. BTS seems to mainly collaborate with lesser known artists. Ariana and Justin are huge names and apparently it's a big hassle getting those types of deals worked out. Can you believe that this is the one that Blinks and the West chose to support against our guy?
  15. Get your snacks ready. It's a food episode https://w2g.tv/?r=s51326tntx8pkpm8m5
  16. Jin related updates There's speculation that Jin was at JK's Suchwita episode and hidden by sugar cubes. The right sugar cube does look like Jin's shoulders and hands
  17. Same here. Luckily my job has so much down time - but even then, I feel like I can't keep up. btw, I noticed that Doja Cat's streams go up a lot during the weekdays. Since her fan base is largely American, it makes me think that we screw around at work more than most countries. I wonder if this will be the title track. Later in the thread, someone said that she announced new music coming soon and I've seen pics of BTS and Ariana together. If this is true, this song is going to be ENORMOUS! And looks like JK hijacked Mingyu's account and ambushed a Seventeen live
