TallyT

We miss him too, Yuzu.

Poor Yuzu... I am glad he has been sensible and let his recovery take its course, but it still hurts, it is so unfair that he has to go through this again....

Hey. if this was in Australia there would be a horse in the top 3 - and a horse from the 1930s at that

I saw this on twitter today, has it been put up elsewhere? It's pretty.... obvious what they're saying...

Can I just say, I first read this as "watch his back" as against the envious and carping.... we can do that too, Yuzuru

Not only that, but his score at Rostelecom - when he was as we know injured, shaken and had to revamp before the free - would have earned him silver in the GPF and was only four marks off gold. How many other men could do that?

Oh thank you thank you! I love Origin so much already... I am just waiting for the performance of Yuzuru's dreams, being as patient as I can, and this will surely help. God, he was missed at the GPF....

174. For giving me a new word - kuyashii - which is surprisingly useful in modern life

We have our priorities, we do, but it would have been a crime for those skates to overtake even an early and unevolved Origin.... Browsing through Twitter, by the way, is it my imagination or are there actually more tweets about Yuzu's birthday than about the whole GPF??

It is beautiful, the work and love that went into it, the seamless way all those tiny moments have been put together....

I appreciate the sentiment but - 12 world records? And the rest, sunshine....

The work that has gone into a lot of these tributes on Twitter (some of those cakes and the fanart!!!) would make anyone feel even more loved and appreciated. Yuzu's fans are a very special breed....

Thanks for the reminder - given he has only been in three competitions, that's quite a list of achievement there. Still the High Lord of Extra.... and the Greatest.

More birthday art

Happy birthday Yuzuru, may the next year be kind, healthy, happy and glorious, if it's even half as good as you deserve it surely will be...

Amused and mildly freaked ("umm.... he's a baby and he's coming for us!!")

Beautiful. It occurred to me to be grateful that the two skaters little Yuzu fixed on as his idols - Plushy and Johnny - were neither of them the sort to resent the rise of someone even greater then they were and instead encouraged, befriended and appreciated him. Plushenko has his faults, god knows, but his self-confidence meant he has always been unstinting towards Yuzu (and no names, but I can think of a couple of others who would have not been nearly as generous watching their little fanboy overtake them as Yuzu did). Watching either of them with Yuzu, the mutual adoration society is just so lovely...

Comfort drink... I want this

He may keep a few but I think, with his love of children, he would want as many as possible to go to them. The letters and individualised gifts he gets are another story... When you consider everything he's won, earned and been given through his career, his storage room must be truly amazing.

Has anyone said the waggy finger yet? If not... 150. For the waggy finger

130. For wearing that glorious hakama to the People's Award Ceremony, and for how graceful, dignified, humble and quite perfect he looked though the whole thing.

To dear Yuzuru, with so many thanks for the joy and inspiration you have given to others, and all the wishes and hopes I can make that the year ahead will be as happy, healthy and filled with everything good that you deserve. You are one of those who make the world a simply better place.

108. For the way he fights back from adversity, never railing against the unfairness or complaining, just doing what needs to be done and more to overcome it... an inspiration to everyone even from a young age.

So we keep going!! 44. For his delayed single axel and other beautiful, clearly learned from the history he has studied and loves, touches (honestly, I could watch that single axel for hours...)
