  1. I loved the video at the end of Yuzu's 2018 Olympic SP, with Nobu crying his eyes out in sheer overwhelming joy for him...
  2. Has this been put up? The playlist for the GPF 2015 stream in coming up... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuiPiC1Hk8eIRX3OmdUazsG9iYvnDu4mw
  3. The Olympic Channel are still asking questions they already know the answer for... Of course, Yuzu's life comes waaaay under the 'Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction' label
  4. I think someone at the channel looked at the viewing figures for 2017 Worlds (as distinct from 2018). What's the betting NHK 2015 and Worlds 2012 appear quite soon?
  5. Who os the kiddie second from the left? I hope someone will be able to tape it, I am missing Fantasy on Ice already....
  6. The thing is, yes, Yuzu does have a lunatic fringe in his fandom. So does every other major skater and pretty much every other fandom, whether sporting, media or whatever. And in my experience most tend to be more or less the same percentage of the whole (with some exceptions, of course) But Yuzu is so popular that his lunatic fringe alone is bigger than any other male skater's whole fandom. Even Shoma and Takahashi, and definitely more than say Patrick or Nathan or Boyang. What the naysayers don't like to acknowledge is that the good and wellbehaved and appreciative percentage of Yuzuru's fan body is way way more huge than pretty much anyone's this millenium except Yuna: that without them, the men would all be skating in emptier rinks and all to far less cheering and applause. The commentators have noted quite often that the Japanese fans are there for Yuzu - and Shoma - but cheer the rest with way more enthusiasm than most other group could manage (witness the Russian fans at Sochi) Also... to put it bluntly - the taste of the sour grapes must be unpleasant for them.
  7. I feel for you. I am in a country that has gotten off incredibly lightly (though thanks to OUR leader's big mouth vis a vis China, may not do so economically) but is talking about not opening the borders till close to the end of the year. We are not even admitting approved temporary residents who were visiting their homes when the borders closed, which I think is cruel but the government is adamant. I look at the numbers in your country and elsewhere and feel like crying. Luckily the first skating competition for ages to be held in Australia, the 4CC, won't be till early next year, so fingers crossed. The GPF series , I can't see Skate Canada and Skate America going ahead and if not, the whole series has to be a washout.
  8. Dear Javi.... he looks well, if tired.
  9. Are we sure he is in Japan right now? Last I heard, it was still a mystery....
  10. He makes us proud to be his fans, he really does.
  11. Love Lilah and Jason referring to "the mystical creature"... we already knew, of course.
  12. Welcome! As said, Yuzu has mentioned it several times but one we all love was his last year's (?) blog posts as part of a commercial endorsement. As fans all knew he doesn't have any social media himself, the anticipation of Yuzu's Deep and Meaningful (and Hopefully Lengthy) Words was huge, in Japan and all over the world... and his breathtaking admission in his first post.... "I like cats." Notwithstanding, it got more replies and reposts than anything any other skater spent far more time and virual ink coming up with
  13. Wasn't he going to start ice dance with a new partner this year? The lack of rinks is really going to hurt anyone moving into something new...
  14. But which is prettier? The cake or the Yuzu?
  15. I've clearly watched/absorbed too many weir ads on ice show streams... this looked way less weird than I suspect it would have even a year ago But we should keep it as another piece of evidence that anyone carping at Yuzu's or Shoma's costumes are just not allowing for cultural differences so there .
  16. There's a gif somewhere of Evgenia doing one in a gala -?
  17. I couldn't help laughing at how hugely different they were, no one would guess they were all the same young man.... I also tried a few women, and other people I'm a fan of. Those who turned out not-a-disaster pretty much always looked the same, even (and yes, I succumbed) me...
  18. He's going to make a great coach if that is where his heart leads him... and it was such fun watching the three of them working on it. Yuzu's hydro is a thing of utter beauty, there's a reason why so many Olympic reports showed pictures and clips of it.
  19. I just wanted to share this... on boredpanda there was a link to a site which turns 'selfies' into anime pictures. As they say, they are very hit and miss (poor Javi and Boyang... missed) but of course I had to try Yuzu and while they're not perfect and some were weird and like his expressions varied, others just DID prove that when we say he is like a living anime hero, we aren't all that wrong... https://waifu.lofiu.com/index.html
  20. I got Zebra Stephane, which is fine with me, I'll take any Stephane
  21. This was something I thought of when I saw a picture of Yuzu with Alena Kostornia, who has a very pretty but slightly heavy face and was given an almost matronly makeup and hairdo... she is 15 and looked as old if not older than him!!! By the way, has this version of Yuzuru's message been posted? https://m.weibo.cn/status/4502059946626916#&video
  22. I badmouthed Eteri because revenge is best served cold.
