Man, despite her mistakes, Rinka still has my favorite performance of all the ladies. Such beautiful combination of delicacy and strength. Such gorgeous representation of the Japanese culture on the ice in the way that Yuzu and Satton did. I would have given her higher on the PCS and hence 4th place (how did she lose 4 points in PCS between SCI and here????) This is her second one. Rion also came third at Grand Prix France.

I don't understand JSF. Any skaters in the official teams to Universiade can medal at comps that matter in the second half of the season (4CC and Worlds). Amongst the alternates, Rinka is a medal contender as well. Why sending them to Universiade knowing it's too close to 4CC? Also how did they choose the teams? Isn't it THE logical thing to do to wisely and responsibly delegate your most reliable athletes only to comps that matter? Does JSF have new favs they don't really give a damn about the rest or something?

1) someone played her dirty, 2) her team/David made a terrible mistake, 3) the organizer messed up. Whichever way, I hope it gets solved soon.

They were very cruel to say that. And I have seen people saying that tube is Skate Canada's karma, which is also a very heartless thing to say. It's a person's life on the ice out there. Yes, I'm glad she left the ice in one piece too. But, would she have performed better if it was not out there? The poor thing...

One more thing, seeing what happened to Schizas today, I hope people will be careful with what they throw on the ice. It could have turned out to be a disaster had she stepped on that thing.

To each their own I suppose. Kihira is always good at body control. No questions about Kihira's performance today, it was very good, but Watanabe still had the performance of the night for me. She brought out that Japanese esque in her performance and it's not easy to do. It's hard to explain, but that essence is what I feel when I watch Yuzu's Seimei & Tenchi and Satoko's Sayuri. A lot have performed to Japanese music before, but only a handful few can make you "see" it while expressing the program. That's why I gave it to her.
