  1. Kihira's last 3S wasn't called. Watanabe and Yokoi got a bunch of calls tho.
  2. Oh non, what is that thing???? So dangerous PS: Someone said it looks like a water tube for the flowers
  3. She is still struggling mentally IMO. The confidence in the short was just gone
  4. That was a very good skate for Kihira, clean jumps, good spins, nice compositions, very good choreography, very good flow. That said, it felt methodical. Her expression of the music was better in the first comp she entered this season even tho the technical part was not as clean. Some deduction here and there for some jumps and spins & SS not as good, sure, but I felt Watanabe was stronger performance wise. She also had very good flow, very good composition, very good choreography. She should have broken 200 here but well... You Young tho...
  5. King and (little) princess of unhinged 3A
  6. Yuhana really shines with unconventional and dynamic music
  7. So Kihira still got Hamada in her coaching team? I'm surprised her fandom has not yet made a big fuss out of this.... on a side note, Watanabe's score increased as the judges forgot to give extra bonus for her 3Lo. Amazing...
  8. Nao Kodaira-san also announced her retirement. The end of an era everywhere...
  9. That's the impression I get about his FS, especially the sequences. They are not the prettiest but they sure are challenging to pull off without commitment and stamina. He didn't have both because whatever he had was poured into the jumps, especially the opening one. And he didn't have the slightest guilt about it. Don't let me start on how he got positive GOE on a messy ChSq with a visible stumble (and the praises, I would presume).
  10. I didn't watch but saw only two things: Ilia's 4A and ChSq. That's probably the best 4A he has done to date and that's very impressive, gotta give him that. But, his ChSq was sloppy as hell. I'd imagine all that jumping took the life out of his program. Not surprised tho, but I'm not sure I like it. PS1: How did his 4Lz look in real time? Because I just saw the GOE ranging from -1 to + 3 PS2: His PCS ranged from 75 to 85, heh.... PS3: Someone(s) really did give him 9s on presentation and 8.75 on SS...
  11. I think 2/12 didn't have deduction? None of the top 3 went clean (according to the scoresheet) for sure.
  12. On a fine day, I'd like to bring back these adorable moments On a side note, Mita-san will welcome her first child soon .
  13. One stress fracture in the left fibula and one painful left ankle. I don't even like the kid but darn, he got it rough. And he is only 19.
  14. Watching the opening and ending of Carnival on Ice and I realize I miss Yuzu's energy in ice shows. He always gives it his all. It's very easy to notice how he stands out from the rest. PS: Not related but retirement really does wonder to Satton. She is a much more engaged, freer performer now.
  15. Some nice interviews with the Kobe sisters. Such level-headed, strong, determined, down-to-earth young ladies (Not an ounce of Nakano's cynicism oozing out of them, which I love) PS: Kaori scoring over 146 while feeling under the weather is why she is the slayest of slay LOL. PPS: I hope they take good care of themselves as they get older.
  16. Thanks for sharing this. Already did (+blocked) The people behind these fake accounts really have no shame. Are JO and CaOI that flopped for them to do this?
  17. Yuzu is not listed under ANA athlete but under ANA sponsorship athlete, alongside Shingo Kunieda. His photo is still used as the header for the ANA athlete page but his record is not accessible. The link is here: https://www.anahd.co.jp/group/sponsorship/ Edit: I was wondering what's the significance of these changes. This tweet here shows that while still sponsored by ANA, he is no longer affiliated with them (ANA doesn't have any affiliated athletes now). PS: Still, that said, ANA sponsors only two athletes. Yuzu is one of them PS2: Originally I thought the changes were due to him no longer competing, but since Kunieda was moved as well (he is still active), this is perhaps 1) a change in policy or 2) both coincidentally had the same status following separate negotiation? PS3: Regardless, I'm grateful they continue to support him. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  18. Xiangyi An of China really keeps the pure toepick techniques alive. So on the money and very reminiscent of Boyang's, Yuzu's and Misha's.
  19. I just watched Isabeau's program. Tho seemingly getting better, her jumps don't look too good. That said, she has OK flow across the ice and good spins. Both programs feel one-noted tho and she has not yet sold them. She needs to be sassier and sharper for the short. In the long, she can't just smile happily thruout because that's not what the music tries to say. Her PCS in the long tho. I know I shouldn't compare across competitions but there is no way she scored over 64 while Mone didn't even break it. Even baby Mao was better than her.
  20. The music is suggested by Jun so I don't know if anything will be changed TBH. It is a new program tho so it will take time for him to be completely comfortable with it. Once he is tho, it will slap all the way. The StSq already is. Oh and BTW, already this program absolutely eats up Yuma's Believer, but we all know who will get higher PCS.... Back to Jun, I don't think even he understands his PCS. Poor thing.
