Mone and Mao are both lovely. Mone was more focused on the jumps today so her performance suffered a bit IMO. She was messy technically last year but she nailed the IN and PE. That said, how good was her flow and body control on the ice? Jump-wise, some people on Youtube said she is like Satoko, but IMO that is not the case. Her jumps are already better, and she can jump higher and farther as she increases her muscle strength. Well she needs to anyway, seeing that she is very determined to nail the 4T. Mao was, as always, insanely good for kids her age. Just lovely flow, speed, spins and presence. I'm a bit worried about her jumps tho since for now they look very much reliant on rotational speed. Again, I sincerely hope Hamada (or whoever else is going to be her coach for the next 8 years) will pace her wisely so she can remain healthy, and let her take the time she needs to polish her skating and increase the muscle strength to pull thru.

I'm watching a featurette on Mamma Mia (yes, I'm watching Mamma Mia again LOL) and this is what the choreographer Anthony Van Laast has to say about people without dance background: Often it's really exciting to work with people who aren't dancers because they will bring something to the movement that is so real whereas when you work with dancers it's so perfect and there's no edges and sometimes the edges are what makes something, giving it character as opposed to always being just a slip routine. I don't know why this reminds me a bit of Yuzu. There is that naturalness in the way he moves that illustrates what Anthony said, and different from the movements of skaters who have extensive dance classes/dance background. And it's beautiful

I saw the two performances. Kaori lost due to a 3Lz(!), StSq2 and one fall on her first Flip (I assume it was meant to be a 3F2T). But that call on her Lutz tho. Is that a warning? Rinka went almost clean except for the last Lutz (3Lz<<) and like you said, she got a 3A with very good GOE. Also this Rinka is the only one cracking in the top 10 not as a teenager.

It (the bottom half) should still be like this. It should work for EX somehow but will restrain some movements. The pom pom should not be a problem.

I don't think so. This is Haute Couture. I don't think I have seen drastic changes being made to these kinds of stuff often. Most likely the belt and the pompom-like sleeves (seems detachable) are the only things added.

Yes, but by commenting and watching people are giving these peeps what they want. Why making something like this now when his popularity as a pro is shooting up and the new season is about to kick in? I'm sorry but I don't buy what they are trying to sell even one bit.
