Nobu visited a cello craftsman (?) for a local TV show and got taken over by the swan for a moment...

Think I've seen this photo shared in General Thread. He is a Japanese junior skater Shingo Nishiyama who has been training at TCC alongside Yuzu. Absolute Skating has recently released his long interview and it was interesting. http://www.absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=interviews&id=2018shingonishiyama He talks mainly about how they train at TCC, how coaches teach them as a team in this interview but we can also get a glimpse of how young skaters go abroad to learn more and how people around them support it.

As far as I know, Jeff choreographed Mirai's "Miss Saigon"(2017-2018), Rika Kihira's "La Strada"(2017-2018), Takahito Mura's "O"(2015-2016), Sergei Voronov's "Once upon a time in America"(2015-2016) too.

Lubov and Dylan were my favorite Canadian pair. I loved their death-spiral with Lubov entering with cantilever and some of their courageous lifts. Had been looking forward to seeing their performance every time I saw their names on the entry list. I'll miss them so much. Hope Lubov and Dylan will both have a great future.

Not kaeryth but this is from FaOI rehearsal. I can hear the theme of FaOI from their movement.

@micaelis Thank you for knowing and caring about what's happening after the quake. I doubt people's consciousness of the problem will contribute to filling the theaters, but I really appreciate your concerns as a Japanese. @Toni Movie theaters in Japan in these days rarely become full. They sometimes become close to full when they offer a discount, when they are small and screening a film which has hard-core fans but rarely gets screened, and when they invite actors and celebrities to promote the film. It's not rare to see a movie in a theater all by yourself. So those theaters won't expect a content to fill the whole seats every time. I don't know how much attendances will be enough to produce a surplus, but I'm sure he doesn't have to fill the whole seats in the whole theaters. I don't even know if this live-viewing is a plan for making much profit. I think the main point is to offer a chance to enjoy the show to people who cannot travel all the way to the venue since he's always been conscious of such fans supporting him from far away. Anyway, don't worry too much. It's a big project but such project doesn't happen without a help of professional.

The TV program must be fun because Arashi and Nobu got along well when they appeared in a TV program together in the past. But isn't he the team "Hey, remember us?"? (I don't mind if he comes back to this thread anytime, though ) Miyu Honda was a successful child actress of Kaseifu no Mita, and her sisters, Marin, Sara also belong to the same talent agency as Miyu. They appear on TV shows and commercials because it's kind of their job and we know that. When media covers them at a competition they also report their result as it is, so I think viewers in Japan know in what position Honda girls currently are among Japanese young ladies. Personally, I doubt getting much media attention is necessarily beneficial for very young skaters. Being a novice/junior skater means that you are going to have to deal with growth spurts soon, and that means you may have to reconstruct all of your technique. I think that's when you need support from specialists and people with experience, not the attention of media and the general public.

According to this press release released by the organizer, part of the sales of those cute things to be sold at the photo exhibition venue will be donated for reconstruction of areas affected by the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake.

Major Competitions in Yuzu's Skating Life Streaming Parties
sweetwater replied to robin's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
Yes, he didn't medal here, but it doesn't mean his performances weren't good, and making it to the Final itself was an achievement for him at that time. However, there are many other important competitions and these videos might have already taken up for discussion and dropped for a reason. In that case, it's OK. -
Major Competitions in Yuzu's Skating Life Streaming Parties
sweetwater replied to robin's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
Great idea! I agree especially with the bolded part. When I saw the Patrick vs. Yuzu rivalry thread some time ago I thought this kind of streaming party would help both newer and older fans. I tried to make a list of competitions they compete together with videos but gave up posting it because basically, I don't feel comfortable joining the discussion on this forum as a huge fan of one of them. However, I thought these videos I found at that time might also be fun to watch together? Although these are pre-Nice, you can see the key players at that time at once, and Yuzu is super cute. I saw LGC in person at NHK 2016 and it was just like a Rock concert. I remember how I was laughing in my seat seeing him doing the knee-slide and feeling the excitement in the venue which was completely in tune with the sound of the guitar. I laughed because I suddenly remembered it was a competition, not a show and thought what a crazy competition program it was. Yuzu himself commented that to perform the program connecting with the audience to create a rock-concert-like atmosphere was a challenge to him, but I think he nailed it perfectly, and I can tell this with confidence because I've been following rockstars for years. Of course, it's my personal opinion, though.

Sorry for off-current topic: Hi. @Mineeal! As far as I know, the full-footage of the press conference after SP hasn't been released or aired yet, though full transcription of his comment has already been published by Figure Skate Magazine and Asahi Shimbun Digital (*you need to subscribe and pay monthly fee to read this particular article, though), so there might be a translation or two somewhere. If I find the footage I would definitely add it to the thread but it will take be sometime later anyway because in that thread it's still Feb. 12. After PyeongChang I've been busy for many reasons and don't have much time to finish the list as much as I want to. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.

So I'm a hobbit... how much taller do I need be Gandalf to wield his stuff? I'm happy that Nobu will take part in the show in any way. Nobu is one of the best in Japan when it comes to commentary on figure skating because he is a huge figure skating fan (like Yuzu ) so his commentary would help Yuzu to introduce all the skaters he admires to viewers including those who have become interested in Yuzu and figure skating after PyeongChang and would see the skaters for the first time.

If Javi and/or Nobu is going to join Ci they would announce it after Stars On Ice Yokohama shows are over, because tickets for SOI hasn't been sold out yet. However, I would not surprise if they've already announced all the guests, because it's impossible to invite everyone who influenced him anyway. If you only count the names mentioned in Yume wo Ikiru, there are already 17 or 18 people and it must be very hard to find a day on which they are all free. Brian and Shizuka might have their own reason not to join the show even if they have been invited. Brian is directing Ice Fantasia scheduled on 20th to 22hd and I heard that he is going to do a seminar in Mexico prior to that (source) ? so his schedule might have already been quite packed. As for Shizuka, I can't find her name in the casts of Prince Ice World shows in which she has been doing the headliner for years, so she might be taking a time off from the ice for some reasons. In Ci what he will talk with the guest skaters must be as important as what they will skate, and he must have a lot to talk with each guest, so the show would never be empty even with fewer guests. (The show will be about two and a half hour long) According to the description in "Goods" section of Ci site, the official guidebook for the show consists of comments by Yuzu on each guest, so we'll know how those guests were invited.
